Chapter 229: Chapter 229

Liara smiled, looking around at the people by standing on the terrace of her home, enjoying her coffee. A lot of small houses were almost built around her home for the people who were going to settle in the Black Council because of the job opportunity that they got to work in the Liara’s hospital.

On the other side, she could see the construction of the school because the pups trained by her won two tests out of three last week.

They were poor in terms of strength and couldn’t survive alone in the forest, but they won both the group activities with flying colors by using werewolves' and vampires' weaknesses. In the end, smart work defeated hard work.

She took a deep breath; the air around this place was changing, and so did the people because a couple of the werewolves staying here had started getting insecure, jealous, and self-conscious by looking at a lot of outsiders who used to visit the hospital.

By watching them, looking smart, beautiful, hot, handsome, pretty, and wearing good clothes. They couldn’t help but want to look good too. For them, watching someone pencil heel was quite shocking, wondering how someone could walk wearing that thing.

Not just that, they had started observing how Liara used to wear different clothes every day along with different hairstyles and different jewelry with that. In the beginning, they made fun of her, but later, they wanted to be like her.

Because a part of them felt no matter what, they couldn’t deny the part that Liara looked pretty wearing all those things. They even peeked inside Liara and Theodore’s home to see how it looked to live in a box-type close place but were in awe watching everything.

Long story short, they, too, wanted a life like Liara. They wanted to try things from the outside world. They didn’t just want to live their life like the frog in the well who knew nothing of the sea.

‘Lolo!! I hope you have started getting ready.’ Theodore’s words rang in her mind.

‘About to.’ She replied and rushed inside her room. It had been two weeks since they shifted here, and tonight they had to visit in the human to grand the party because Lia Jewelers Ltd had completed one year.

She couldn’t believe that, finally, she was staying with her mate for around one month.

‘One month and no sign of pregnancy.’ Destiny complained.

‘I took medicine in the beginning so that I wouldn’t get pregnant, and later I took an antidote to cut the effect of that medicine, but it looked like this part is not in my hand now.’

‘I know.’ Destiny grumbled.

‘Still, you’re mad at me.’

‘I’m not mad. I’m just eager.’ Destiny grumbled, to which Liara chuckled. She, too, wanted to experience that happiness, but they didn’t have any other choice than to wait. She saw the beautiful dress that she had to wear tonight. All she was waiting for was Doctor Sara, who was going to help her in getting ready. She had to look her best tonight.

After all, this was the first time Theodore was going to make a public appearance in front of all his people working for him with her, of course.

“Lee!! Doctor Sara is here.” Moana mind linked her. She walked out of her room to receive Doctor Sara personally.

“Doctor Wayne!!” Sara rushed toward Liara to hug her quickly. “You have no idea how much I was scared of the idea of coming here?” She expressed her fear. Well, even if she wouldn’t have, Liara could have sensed it.

“You don’t have to worry about anything, Doctor Sara!! I asked Moana, one of the best warriors in this place, to make sure about your security.” Liara said and looked at Moana. “Let me introduce you both. Doctor Sara, she is Moana, my cousin. And Moana, she is Doctor Sara, a pediatrician is a doctor who specializes in the care of children.” She explained the term so that Moana could understand it clearly.

Moana nodded her head, looking at Doctor Sara, who passed a smile at her.

Both Ambrose and Theodore weren’t in the mood to keep Moana in the Black Council when she finally recovered from the injury that Theodore gave her. But Liara didn’t want Moana alone. Even though Moana was strong enough to handle herself but Liara didn’t want to take any risk because either Moana could fall into the wrong place where people might treat her as a slave or worst sex slave, or she might fall into any hunter’s trap and become their subject of an experiment.

On her request, Ambrose let Moana stay in the Black Council but as a Liara’s guard with the condition that if anything happened to Liara in her presence, then she would be the first to die.

“Liara, A word with you. ALONE” Moana said when they were about to leave.

“The room on the first floor,” Liara told Sara, and once she left. Liara looked at Moana, wondering what she was going to say. “Please go ahead.” She said.

“I was thinking of saying this for the last couple of days, but I couldn’t muster the courage to say it.” She mumbled in a serious tone.

‘Is she going to insult me for making her my guard? After all, she was an Alpha female.’ Liara wondered.

“Thank you. Thank you for everything, for saving my life and asking dad to let me stay here. If not for you, then I know either I would have been dead or thrown out of this place. Thank you for helping me even though I didn’t ask for your help. Thank you for standing for me even when you didn’t have to. Thank you for helping me with your words when I got stuck in a bog.” Moana said in a low tone, surprising Liara.

“It’s okay. You don’t….”
