Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Two years had passed since that incident. In the beginning, all the pack warriors search for those vampires in each and every area of the forest, also in the hotels of the nearby city, by acting like fake cops and asking for a criminal who was kind of hiding during the daytime and leaves the hotel only at night. But in the end, the result was all NIL. In the end, they ended up hoping that maybe those vampires came near the pack just by accident, or might they were just roaming here and there.

Everyone brushed that topic away and had almost moved on from that incident, even the Alpha of the pack, who didn't leave any loophole from his end to ensure that no incident like that would be repeated again.

Little did they know that their enemy was watching each and every move silently and was planning everything against them by taking tiny little steps every day like a cunning predator. Little did they know that their enemy had taken two steps behind just to attack them with more power.

"Twenty-ninth tablet," Liara mumbled with tension, and with a glass of water, she gulped it to forbid any announced heat and the smell that could arouse an unmated male. Her hands were feeling warm, and so did her body. She knew why this was happening to her. Her wolf had already sensed her mate, and now she wanted him.

That was why Liara had to take medicines to control the pain in her body that female she-wolves felt at the time of heat. Earlier, a tablet per month was enough to handle the pain, but with time, it was getting worst. She was scared that if this torture continued for long, then she might end up losing her V card for sure that too to someone who wouldn't be her mate.

"I don't think I can attend any lecture today. I'm taking a day off." She talked with Destiny and slowly went into the washroom to rest in the bathtub today because her body was aching like hell. She wondered, what if she wouldn't have been taken the pills? Her body shivered with the thought of that pain.

'Our mate is around us; you know that, don't you?' Destiny said once Liara settled in the tub full of cold water. 'We have caught his smell multiple times in these two years.'

"Please don't suggest to me that I should go and sleep with him," Liara muttered, rolling her eyes. She wondered why her wolf was so excited about all this. Wasn't this scary that someone kept watching you in silence without your knowledge?

She had thought a lot of times to REJECT him but went out of the pack. But she just couldn't muster the courage to face him. She was scared that what if he wouldn't take the rejection calmly. What if he had any evil intentions toward her? And many more what if?

She didn't have a trust issue, but at the same time, she just couldn't trust anyone just because he was his mate. How much she knew him?

'Exactly, you don't know him, and you won't be able to know about him until you give him a chance. Who knows, he is here because of us? And he is watching us because for some reason.'

"I'm not inviting him in the pack. I don't want to be that stupid who will become the reason for thousands of death in the pack. Nor I'm planning to walk into a hellhole on my own. What if something goes wrong?"

'What if nothing goes wrong?" Destiny asked. "You can't avoid him all your life; you know that, right? And even if you don't want him in his life, you have to meet him once to reject him.' Destiny said in a sad tone. She didn't want to do that, but at the same time, she knew her selfishness would cost a lot of things to her human, most importantly her family.

Liara was thinking all this when her phone rang. She had placed it beside her tub because she was planning to stay there for a while. So, she received the call when she saw it was from the hospital.

"Liara, I need an attendant during the surgery. Come to the hospital at your earliest convenience."

"Okay, Doctor!!" She said before disconnecting the call. She just couldn't say no because she didn't want to miss anything at her learning stage, no matter how much pain she was feeling at that moment.

The moment she left the hostel building, Molly's eyebrows raised in surprise, "I thought today was 17th December."
