Chapter 1: Chapter 1
LUNA ROSE HOLICS
"There you are Luna, Madame wanted us to offer drinks to the guests" Ivy said.
Ivy was my best friend since middle school. She was pretty, kind, and fun to be with. She always tag me along when a job was offered to her, and I am always grateful. She's my partner on hunting part time jobs like this, we needed it to support our studies and our family. Yes, we work for ourselves and provide for our families. I guess we were just a bit unfortunate, but atleast we're happy enough.
"Get yourself a tray already, you might get scolded by that old lady again" Ivy said, looking so stressed.
I chuckled at her face because she looks already worn out. She was probably looking for me for long. She lifted her brow and slapped my arm.
"What are you chuckling about huh? Go there already" She said, looking so irritated.
"Okay okay, but fix yourself. Girl, you look so stressed" I said and she just rolled her eyes.
I chuckled before turning around, hearing her exclaimed that she heard it. Now that I think of it, I don't know why I'm spacing out at that corner. Maybe because I was just fascinated by this place, it was a hell of a venue. And I don't even know what kind of event was this elegant celebration for. All I did was to grab Ivy's offer and be a servant without even asking other details.
I walk towards the table to get a tray containing several drinks that I didn't even know the names of. I started offering it to these glamorous people. They're bigtime, you can tell. They're all intimidating when I'm approaching them, and my Dad was right. Rich people are freaking scary.
Only one drink left on my tray when I passed by a glass wall with the pool's view. A person was standing there, alone in that dark side of these elegant party. Only the shade of the lights inside was making it slightly visible, the tall figure of a man, standing while staring at the water.
I don't why, but I felt curious all of a sudden. All these people enjoying themselves, indulging the fabulous night but he's the only one who's not. What if I offer him this last drink? I guess it was a good idea. Plus, he really looked so... Lonely.
I quickly walked towards his direction and when I reached it, I just stayed behind him but not too close, just enough for him to feel that someone was behind him.
I breathed heavily and noticed that he's not even flinching, nor turning around to check. I'm starting to feel embarassed here, all I wanted was to offer this drink yet I'm looking like some stupid behind his back.
I grabbed the wine glass from the tray and started coughing fake.
*Cough
*Cough
But even when I did that, he wasn't paying any attention at all. It had me thinking that maybe, going in here was a wrong choice. I shouldn't wasted my time in here, what is wrong with me???
I sighed slightly and that made him turn his head to the side. I guess my sigh was too loud for him to eventually react. I was about to say something but he turned around to face me.
*THUMP THUMP THUMP
My heart instantly reacted weirdly. Not the one that goes with butterflies, but the opposite kind of beating. Sh*t! What is wrong with me? Why do I feel different?
Why do I feel so scared?
His eyes, they were sparkling emeralds but they were looking... lifeless. He's not just intimidating, but a whole lot of carrying a heavy presence. His face was heavenly, but his aura whispers hell in the air.
Who is this man??
I frozed and I don't know what to do. He was just standing in front of me, gazing at my soul with that emotionless look in the face. That made me lose track of myself and did one step backwards. I don't know what has gotten to me, but I just feel... tortured.
He wasn't saying anything, but he did a few steps forward till he's totally in front of me. Our space was close enough for me to smell his perfume, and his fragrance just made my heart even heavier, like it would jump out inside me any second. I gulped hard and slowly lifted my head only to met his eyes once again.
And suddenly, "Master, it's time" A man appeared from nowhere.
I looked at the man behind me, but this man in front of me suddenly grabbed the glass that I was holding, the only reason why I decided to come in here.
I didn't even had the chance to spit any words, and I was left out hanging in here while watching him walk away. But what could I even say?, I might've just beg him not to kill me because of his looks.
He undeniably looked powerful, and I couldn't help but to get menaced by him. I felt danger, and I'm not even kidding.
I breathed heavily again before fixing my ribbon tie and decided to get out of this place. I walked while bowing to the guests again and stopped by the corner where I spaced out earlier.
Moments later and Ivy appeared, she already looked tired so I grabbed the tray that she's holding and put it aside.
"Why do you look... different? Like someone who saw a ghost?" She said.
What??? Do I really look like that? I cupped my face after she said that. Maybe I was just surprised earlier and was really frightened by that man.
"Don't ask about it, when will we go home?" I said.
But before she got to answer my question, the speaker announced something.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Please welcome,
The Heir, The Leader, and the new Master of The Creed's Corporation..."
"ACEZ VERO CREED"
Right after it ended, loud applauds were filling the venue. But we're just at a corner, slightly far from the center of attention. And besides, I'm just here for the job so I didn't bother looking at the event happening.
Not for long and the event was finished, Thank God, it was exhausting but of course, for us it was a great blessing and an opportunity.
"Luna, at last. Let's go home now, I'm so tired" Ivy said while clinging onto my arm.
"I know right, but atleast we got an addition to our allowances. Let's go home and have a good rest" I said while smiling.
