Chapter 48: Chapter 48
Megan stormed into Yolanda’s room and met her lying on her bed. Immediately Megan got in, Yolanda sprang to her feet.
“Megan…”
“What did you do, Yolanda?” Megan interjected her, causing her to furrow her brows.
“I don’t understand you, Megan. What’s going on?”
“Everyone knows about Belinda’s pregnancy. Apart from my healer and Damon, only two of us were aware. And I’m very sure I kept my mouth shut! Who did you tell?” Megan asked, boiling in anger.
Yolanda raised her eyebrows and shook her head in disbelief. “Are you accusing me right now, Megan? The secret got leaked and I’m the one you accuse?”
“Because I just went to my healer and she didn’t say a word to anyone.”
“And then I did? Megan, I never mentioned it to anyone.”
“And how sure am I that you’re telling the truth?” Megan further inquired, and Yolanda scoffed, shaking her head.
“Did your doctor have to prove to you that she’s innocent? Or I’m the only one that has to prove it to you? Because I once betrayed you doesn’t mean I’ll do it again. I promised you, and you just accuse me like that?”
Megan heard the anger in Yolanda’s voice, making her slowly calm down. She knew she was wrong and the anger in her at that moment didn’t let her think straight, so she just spoke anyhow.
She heaved a sigh and moved closer to Yolanda, who took a few steps away from her.
“No, Megan. You don’t trust me anymore. It’s so obvious.” Yolanda responded, showing the hurt and disappointment she felt.
“I’m sorry, Yolanda. I was mad and wasn’t thinking straight. I’m very sorry.” Megan responded, her heart beating very fast against her chest.
Yolanda shook her head and turned her back against her, showing her she was still mad at her.
“Please, Yolanda.” Megan moved closer and embraced her from behind.
“I’m sorry. I just didn’t know what to do. I’m scared. Father and mother have found out, and no doubt, they’ll chase her away. I’m scared for Damon the most. I don’t want him to lose the love of his life.” Megan mumbled against Yolanda’s back.
Hearing and feeling Megan’s concerns, Yolanda turned back to look at her with a warm contenance.
“I’m sorry this happened, Megan. But I swear, this wasn’t from me. Maybe your parents had spies after all.” She answered, and Megan nodded.
“What do we do? We need to do something.” Megan muttered.
“Where is Prince Damon? Does he know about this?”
“Yes, he knows. I met him there with her when I went. He was so mad when he saw me. He thought you or my healer must have said something. I’m confused, Yolanda. What should I do?”
Yolanda embraced Megan again, trying to comfort her. “We’ll get through this, okay? Relax.” She uttered, brushing her hair with her palm.
“I swear I’ll kill whoever did this to us.” Megan mumbled as tears welled up her eyes.

“Are you going to keep staying here with me?” Belinda asked as she cuddled up in Damon’s arms on the bed.
“Yes, Belinda. I can’t leave you alone. I know my parents are thinking of a way of getting rid of you and I’m not going to let that happen. Never. Maybe sleeping in a cell isn’t that bad after all.” Damon answered, and Belinda chuckled softly.
“Do you think we are going to win this fight against your parents?” Belinda further asked, as she needed more assurance.
“What I’m sure of is that I’m never going to let them take you away from me, Belinda. No matter what happens. If they insist on chasing you out, then I’m going with you.” Damon answered, hugging her to himself tighter.
Before Belinda could say anything, they heard footsteps approaching the cell where they laid. Belinda wanted to stand up, but Damon held her back, cuddling her even more.
“There’s no need to hide or be scared. Everyone knows now. Let them see us together.” Damon answered unbothered.
Soon, they heard the gate of the cell open and footsteps began to approach them. Damon opened his eyes and looked at the direction of the sound to see his father, standing in front of them.
Damon tightened his hold on Belinda, trying to tell his father he was going to let go of her.
“Damon, can we talk? I’m not here to fight you.” King Talos uttered, staying as calm as possible.
Damon creased his brows after noticing the calmness in his father. “Yes, we can. And if this is about you chasing Belinda out of this kingdom, my answer is no. She is carrying my baby.”
King Talos nodded and a smile curved the corner of his lips. “I know she is carrying your baby, and that you love her so much and do not want to lose her. Truly, I was very mad at first because of… you know,”
“I know. But that’s how it is. She is my mate, and there’s nothing you can do about that.”
“No, Damon. There’s nothing I can do. And that is why I’m here to talk to you so that we can make this work. You can come back to the Palace with her, okay? Both of you can live as a couple.”
“What?” Damon’s eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at his father. It was like a dream.
“If you keep yourself in here, you won’t be able to concentrate on the Kingdom duties anymore, and you are the heir to the throne! That cannot happen. It seems like she’s what matters to you the most right now… so, I won’t mind keeping her close if that is what it takes for you to keep being the son I know.”
Belinda and Damon exchanged looks, and a smile of hope and happiness lit up Belinda’s face.
“Father, are you serious? You’re really going to let her stay here?” Damon asked, and his gaze fell on Mr. Theron who walked into the cell during their conversation.
“Yes. And thank Mr. Theron for that.” King Talos responded, turning to look at Mr Theron, who smiled and lowered his head.
“Thank you! Thank you so much, father!” Damon let go of Belinda in excitement and rushed to his father to embrace him. He broke the hug and also went ahead to hug Mr. Theron.
“I’m so happy.” Damon uttered and looked at Belinda, who was equally happy.
‘We’re going to be together, Belinda. I’m going to love you forever.’ Damon thought as he approached her and hugged her tightly.
