Chapter 11: Chapter 11
Damon and Belinda left the palace when the sun was setting. They headed out of their boundaries into the woods to fetch for their prey.
Damon took the lead and Belinda followed quietly behind him.
As they headed into the woods, Belinda wanted to start a conversation with Damon badly, but he didn’t seem like he wanted to talk to her. So, she kept her distance and her mouth shut.
All she did was steal glances of him as they walked. How hot he looked from behind.
‘No wonder the maidens from other kingdoms are head over heels for him. Who wouldn’t?’ She thought.
‘So are you head over heels for him too?’ Her inner self asked her, and she scoffed loudly.
Damon took an abrupt stop and looked back at her.
“What?” He asked coldly, and she hurriedly shook her head and bowed.
“Nothing, my Prince. I’m sorry.”
“I hate distractions when I’m out hunting. Keep your thoughts or words to yourself. You make me lose my target, you are dead.” He added, and didn’t let her respond before he kept walking.
‘What am I even doing out here if he isn’t going to talk to me? His father, the king, sent me out with him so that he could teach me how to hunt. How will he do that when he’s this cold with me?’ She reminisced.
‘You still haven’t answered my question, Belinda. Are you head over heels for him too?’
Belinda clenched her jaw and shook her thoughts off.
‘My inner self also responds the least time I need her to. All she’s good at doing is putting me in trouble. First, was with Alpha Cephas, now Prince Damon? If you’re that active, why don’t you help my wolf take over my body when I was being tortured!’
She shut up her inner self and kept her eyes on Damon. It looked like he found a target already. Soon, she heard the snap of a branch not so far from her.
“Ahh.” She gasped fearfully and looked at the direction where the sound came from. She looked around afterward and realized they were in the middle of nowhere.
“Pri…” She hesitated to call him when she saw that he had already lifted his arrow. It looked like he had found prey already and was about to shoot at it.
She recalled what he had told her and knew it was a bad idea to distract him.
She wanted to move closer to him but then, the sound came again. It was a rustling noise which kept getting louder and louder.
‘That must be another prey. Maybe a rabbit. I think I should check it out. Prince Damon would be so impressed when I show him the prey I caught.’
Belinda grew excited with her thought of impressing Damom, so she went ahead to move closer to the bushes, where the sound was coming from.
She heard the twang of Damon’s arrow being shot, but she didn’t look back. When she got closer to the bushes, she stopped walking to catch the rustling sounds again.
When the rustling noise came again, she knew she wasn’t wrong. She reached for inside the tote bag Megan gave to her and pulled out the torchlight.
The torchlight was to help her see her prey clearly since it was her first time. She also warned that pointing it at the prey for too long could alert the prey.
Belinda turned on the torch and pointed it at the middle of the bushes she was standing in front of. As she turned it on, there was a movement again, and she sighted a white small animal.
Her instinct was correct. It was a rabbit. The rabbit was feeding, so it hardly noticed Belinda’s presence.
Belinda excitedly and nervously reached for the arrow from her quiver. She had to put the torchlight on the ground so as to fix her arrow on her bow.
As she tried fixing the arrow, another rustling noise and snapping of branches filled the air, this time it was faster and louder.
The torchlight suddenly went off, and she heard the cry of pain and agony from the rabbit.
Fear ran down her spine and her hands began to shake when she sighted a larger animal feed on the rabbit.
‘What is that?’ She thought in terror.
She continued moving back when all of a sudden, her leg hit a tree stump and she fell to the ground, scratching her hand on this tree stump.
Though she fell, her eyes never left this huge animal, and it was the same for this animal.
The animal slowly walked out of the bushes and began to approach Belinda. When Belinda saw a better view of the animal, her heart skipped a beat.
It was a brown wolf.
“Holy Moon! I am dead.”
She tried to get up and run but her legs were quivering and wouldn’t heed to her cry.
‘Prince Damon, please help me.’ She cried inside of her as she watched the wolf bridge the distance that was between them.
It growled and snarled at Belinda, and Belinda knew she was this Wolf’s prey.
At this point, Belinda wished she could summon the wolf that was inside of her, but she was yet to have her first transformation. It was never going to happen.
The wolf got very close and it opened his large mouth to feast on Belinda. She covered her eyes with her arms, ready to be devoured when suddenly, she heard a loud growl.
She heard something heavy, like a rock, fall to the ground, and this made her open her eyes. She looked up and saw there were two wolves already.
The second wolf had a mixture of gray and brown. This wolf stood in between Belinda and the brown wolf.
“Prince Damon?” She whispered, and the wolves snarled at each other and began to approach each other.
The brown wolf grabbed the other wolf with his teeth, by the leg and bit him pretty hard, making him howl.
“Prince Damon!” Belinda cried fearfully as she heard him cry.
He managed to get up and kept fighting with the other wolf until it ran off. After it was gone, he fell to the ground, panting very hard.
Belinda got up and ran to where he was laying. “Prince Damon, are you alright?” She asked.
She checked his left arm and saw the deep cut resulting from the wolf bite.
“Oh my… Prince Damon, you’re bleeding.” She muttered in tears.
Damon snatched his hand from her and managed to stand on his own.
He reached for his clothes on the floor and began to wear them. Luckily for him, his underwear didn’t rip off completely when he transformed.
“What is wrong with you, hun?! Are you crazy? What were you thinking wandering off like that?!” He smacked at her, and she jolted in fear.
She moved back and fell on her knees. “I’m sorry, My Prince. I wanted to catch my own prey too. I saw a rabbit and I got distracted. I wanted to...”
“Shut up! Just shut up! You were supposed to watch me do it! This is your first time out here, you have no excuse to just wander off. You could have been killed!” He yelled angrily.
Belinda nibbled on her lips as she kept crying. She felt so sorry to have put him in such a dangerous situation. She wished she could go back in time and make things right.
“I’m sorry…”
“We are going back home right now.” Damon uttered and began to walk to where he had kept the two huge rabbits he killed.
Belinda hastily stood up and followed behind him, with her head lowered. She raised her head once in a while to look at his bleeding arm.
She wanted to take care of him badly, but how could she even get close to him when he was boiling in rage?
Damon was too furious to notice his bleeding arm. All he wanted was to get home and stay away from the woman that almost killed him because of her stupidity.

Damon dropped the meat in the kitchen without raising an alarm about what had happened.
Even though the maids at the kitchen saw the wound on his arm, they dared not confront him because of his facial expression. It was obvious he didn’t want to talk to anyone about it.
Belinda began to follow behind Damon, even when he headed to his chamber. He got very mad at some point and stopped walking.
He turned to look at her, and she hastily stopped walking too. In her hand was the first aid kit.
“Go away, okay?!! Why are you following me?” Damon angrily asked.
“I… I want to help you clean your wound, My Prince. I should take responsibility for what happened. Please, my prince, let me do this.” Belinda begged.
Damon heaved a sigh and shook his head in frustration.
“I don’t need you to care for me, Woman. Go away!”
“No, please… My Prince. It could get infected if it’s not quickly covered. You could have a fever before it finally heals up. It’s a deep cut, your wolf healing won’t be fast enough to heal it.”
“I know! You don’t have to lecture me. Save me the lecture and go away! You are embarrassing me!”
Damon looked around and caught some pack members staring at them. Belinda was kneeling in front of him, and he was yelling. Of course that would draw the attention of people.
“I won’t go away until you let me clean your wound, my Prince. The king would punish me if he knew I didn’t take responsibility for my actions.”
Damon wanted to yell at her again, when the throbbing pain from his arm was sent to his brain. He grabbed his arm and looked at Belinda angrily.
“Follow me.” He uttered within gritted teeth, and Belinda eagerly stood up and followed him.
