NAINA

"Miss Naina." I heard him calling me from behind. So I turned on my heels to face him.

"From now on, whenever I called for you; be in time. And whenever I asked for any draft from you; you should be here with your work. Don't dare to send it through someone else." With a hard look, he said.

"Why? Do you like to see my face too much?" I asked him with a tight lip smile but in my mind. As I don't have the guts to say these words to his face.

"Got it?" He asked me and I said yes nonchalantly while nodding my head affirmatively. Then walked off from there with my grumpy face.

"Why Yaar, why? Why does he annoy me so much? Am I a machine or a robot that keeps me working all the time without giving me time to have some rest?" I whined in a whisper while walking toward the lift.

"Let's call Sam." I pulled out my phone from my pant pocket and called her. In three rings she picked up my call.

"Now what he has perpetrated, N?" Without any hello and hi she directly asked me what had he done to me? Wow! How does she know me so well?

"How do you know that he has done something with me?" I asked walking inside the lift.

"Cause, whenever you call me during office hours; is only to say:How much your Kunwar Sa has yelled on you, how much work he has been given to you. He has insulted you. Throw your draft on your face for mere errors. Bla...bla...bla..."She said and started laughing.

"Shut up, Sam!" I scold her to stop her from laughing.

"Okay, okay, I apologize." She tried to stop her from laughing but couldn't and again burst into a guffaw.

"Sam," I whined hearing her laughing at my condition.

"Sorry, Again." She apologized and continued. "Now tell me what your Kunwar sa has said today?" She asked me and took his name in dramatically.

I told her everything that happened to me till now. "Now you tell me why he bothers me so much?" I asked her feeling frustrated while walking toward my desk.

"Maybe he has fallen in love with you, so he is making excuses to see you again and again." She said in a teasing tone.

What nonsense? He has his love and also has a so-called wife hence why the hell he would fall for me. It's utter bullshit.

"What the hell are you talking about? When he has his love then why would he fall in love with someone else?"

I shouted at her but only then did I realize where am I?

I was standing in front of my desk. And everyone's eyes were on me. I smiled sheepishly and sat in my place.

"Sorry! I screamed at you unnecessarily." I apologize and hear her scolding.

"You should book a bed in the hospital so that when I beat the shit out of you. It will be easy for you to treat your wounds." She said behaving normally as if nothing happened between us.

"Okey, I'll not shout on you again for him."

"Okey, now let it go. I have lots of work to do. now. Bye bye. See you after pack-up." Saying that she cut the call dismissing our conversation. And then I also began doing my remaining work.

I kept nagging her cause she knows my life story. From my childhood to how Pitaji and Maa sa became my Pitaji and Maa sa, how we got married, and why I ended up in this situation. Everything.

Now I'm feeling that some burden is left over from my chest. So now she is aware of my situation and she always helps me whenever I need her.

"NAINA." I heard him roaring. When I was in my room lying on the bed. As it was a hectic day for me so I'm hella tired. I got up from the bed after covering my face properly I went outside and walked that way from where his sound came from.

"You haven't eaten yet?"

He asked me and I shook my head as No. When I remembered his words that 'I want my answer in words not with a nod. ' So I said "No" quickly.

"Why so?" He again asked me in Hindi.

"Cause you haven't eaten yet. Without you how can I have food?" I told him honesty as also in the office I eat after checking that he has had his lunch.

"If I will have not to eat then you also won't eat anything?" He asked me a little surprised.

"Yeah," I respond in one word.

"It's so late and you went to sleep without eating? How can someone be so careless with their own health?"He scolds me again in rage.

Again.

He did not satisfied after scolding me at the office? Now started here too.

"It is not carelessness that the love of the wife is considered. You will not understand Kunwar Sa." Saying that I went back to my room. Without having my dinner.

Why she is like this? So old-fashioned. In this era who is like her. I have two Naina in my life. But both are different like the sky and sea.

One is so traditional and dumbo and there in my office, she is so modern and feisty.

"I don't understand; Why are you so stupid? Don't talk those nonsense things in front of me again. Have your dinner fast or starve to death." I yelled loudly.

"There is no need to pretend to be such an ideal wife. It's too much. If you want to stay here in my place then you will have to obey me. If you do not obey my order then there is no need to stay at my house. Just leave."

Saying that I went towards my room. After changing into my night suit I went to sleep as I had my dinner with Siya in a restaurant. I slipped into a deep sleep when I kept my head on the pillow.

I opened my eye hearing my alarm. After switching off the alarm clock I shuffle off the bed and went to the bathroom.

Later finishing my morning business, I went to the living room but couldn't find her anywhere. I searched each and every corner of the apartment but alas she was not at home. Where did she go?

"OMG! I shouted at her in anger yesterday and told her to leave the house." I hold my head in worry.

"She didn't take my words seriously? Did she? If yes, then I'm done. I'm done." A spike of fear begins to swallow me.

"Where would she be wandering in this unknown city? How I'm gonna explain this to Pitaji?"

I have been in mixed emotions.

1. I am angry why did she take my words so seriously?

2. I'm nervous what if she did something stupid?

3. What if she went back to Udaipur?

'What do I do now?'
