Chapter 395: Chapter 395

"Man, I'm tired despite practicing in VR," I muttered to myself, moving my arms around a bit to ease the stiffness.

It wasn't my actual body that was tired, but I could still feel some lingering fatigue. The point of VR was to make everything feel real, and it seemed even the exhaustion carried over.

And let's not even talk about my neck.

I instinctively reached up to check my neck again. Once I confirmed my head was still securely attached, I let out a sigh of relief. Really, if it weren't for VR, that guy Yato would've killed me outright.

Shaking my head, I pushed away the lingering bad thoughts. Let's not dwell on that now.

"Haaa—!" I let out a yawn, unintentionally.

Well, it couldn't be helped. I hadn't been getting proper sleep lately, what with all the training I'd been doing. The lack of rest was starting to catch up with me, but today was too important to let exhaustion slow me down.

Before long, I arrived at my destination: Section 5 of Nova Academy.

As soon as I stepped into Section 5, I was greeted by the sight of a massive crowd of students. There had to be at least a thousand first-years alone, all gathered on the upper levels of the arena. Every one of them was peering down below at the platforms.

Usually, the platforms would be buzzing with activity—students sparring and practicing against each other. But today, they stood eerily empty. The strange stillness only added to the tension in the air.

I let my gaze linger on the arena platforms for a moment before turning away. Scanning the crowd, I soon spotted Lillian standing near the representative members of our class.

Even from a distance, I could make out the group of about twelve students sitting behind her. Although I was still too far away to see their expressions clearly, their serious posture told me everything I needed to know.

Leisurely making my way toward them, I took a deep breath. The day was just beginning, and it was already shaping up to be intense.

I could see from distance the protagonist Adrian and others important character.

Adrian was with his usual group which consisted of Emma, Layla, Isabella, Elera, and oddy enough Evelyn was with seating with them too.

Now this what every men's dreams come true means.

I could see the many male cadets were giving death glares too Adrian.

And as for feamle they were simply jealous of the women's who were sitting with him.

I couldn't help but sigh at this.

Anyway, sitting one raw behind Adrian was Aric with his followers and right next raw to him was Noah, a side character and one few friends of Adrian who was not getting jealous of Adrian.

And last but not least my only idiotic friend Sunny, whom I decided to seat with was far away from here and was flirting with some girls.

Looking at him, I decided to chenge my mind.

'No way in the hell I'm going to seat there and listen to their nonsense now.'

As I was wondering where to seat, Lillian spotted me and said,

"Hurry up you're the last one"

Checking her watch, Lillian added

"Yes, by a full four minutes"

Secretly clicking my tongue, I increased my pace.

Hurrying up, I soon arrived before our group and sat down on the ground with some Extra's.

One look from them can tell me that they don't want to talk to me.

Well, I don't want to either.

Ten minutes after as I just randomly stairs at empty air, appearing in the middle of the arena below, an imposing man wearing a black instructor uniform calmly looked at the audience before him. Thereafter, his booming voice reverberated through the whole area as he warmly smiled and introduced himself.

"Welcome everybody, my name is Jean Luc and today I will have the pleasure of hosting the tryouts for the intra-academy tournament!"

Stopping there as he waited for everyone to turn their attention towards him, instructor Jean clenched his fist and raised it in the air. Thereafter he started speaking, and with every word he said, his voice became louder and louder.

"Young aspiring heroes, this is the chance of your life!"

"If you are able to shine in this tournament, not only will you bring honor to the academy, you will also bring honor to yourselves and your relatives. This is the moment that all of you have been waiting for…the chance for you to spread your name far into the human domain. Let them know about you and your splendor!"

Pausing for a second and glancing at every student present, instructor Jean Luc continued, his voice brimming with excitement, "This is not merely a competition! This is your opportunity to prove that you stand above the rest, that you have what it takes to rise to the top. Whether it's skill, strategy, or sheer determination—bring it all to the table!"

The crowd was silent, hanging onto every word he said. Even the faint sound of the wind seemed to die down, as if nature itself was paying attention to his speech.

Jean lowered his voice slightly, adding a tone of gravity, "But remember this—victory is not everything. What truly matters is how you fight. The courage, the tenacity, and the heart you show in the arena will speak louder than the results."

He straightened and declared with finality, "Today, you all take your first steps toward becoming heroes. Do not waste this chance. Fight with honor, fight with pride, and most importantly… fight as if your life depends on it!"

The crowd erupted into cheers and applause, the energy palpable in the air.

"We will definitely join!"

"We will do our best!"

With my mouth half open,I looked towards my left and right where students could be seen cheering everywhere. My face couldn't help but scrunch up as my body involuntarily shook.

What was that just now?

Did no one notice the fact that he was purposely posing to make himself look cooler? Was I the only one?

…what in the world did I just witness?

Scanning the audience before him, and seeing everyone pumped up as a result of his speech, the corner of instructor Jean mouth pulled upward.

Dramatically raising his hand in the air to stop everyone from talking, the instructor continued as his voice became more solemn.

"Alright, enough with that, let's get back to the tryouts"

Rubbing his nose, taking out a piece of paper from his pocket, instructor Jean started reading it. As he read the paper, his tone started becoming more monotonous with every passing second.

…it was apparent that he was only good at improvising.
