Chapter 9: Chapter 9
Raymond POV:-
I took Celine to meet my beloved wife at her home for today's dinner. Even though I told her mother to get her ready but still she didn't listen to her and the inappropriate comment she made about Celine truly boiled my last ounce of patience.
I saw her wearing her casual shirt with a trouser. I glared at her as she stiffened seeing me but concealed it.
Why does she always choose the hard way?
Celine ran toward her and hugged her, completely ignoring what she remarked about her as her brother came toward me, being the only sensible person after her Mother.
"Hello, Nice to Meet you, Sir." He said politely. Even her brother has more manners, unlike her.
"Hey there. What's your name, young man?" I asked him, even though I know his name is Kenneth. I know everything about her, everything.
"Kenneth Cadhill. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Please take care of my Sister." He said sincerely, curling his lips upwards in a smile.
“And kindly please, ignore her words, her mind dysfunction sometimes.” He chuckled nervously, glancing over Violet who stood still as Celine was suffocating her in her embrace.
"I will, don’t worry." I also replied sincerely, but I am also not going to hesitate to teach her some manners.
Meanwhile my sister was killing my future wife with her hug. I cleared my throat as she let her go and began to yell as always.
Although I specifically instructed her to keep her voice as low as possible, even her low voice is boomingly high.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! BROTHER IS GETTING MARRIED! I LOVE YOUR SIMPLICITY! YOU'RE PERFECT FOR HIM!! YOU TOO LOOK CUTE TOGETHER!!"
"Lower your voice Celine, she can hear you just fine." I told her, but she goes on rambling, forgetting everything I told her.
All the instructions I gave her to behave and it is hard to distinguish between Kenneth, a teenager and my adult sister, to choose who is more less developed.
"Brother didn't even tell me. But still I am happy for both of you! I hope you guys live HAPPILY EVER AFTER! !I AM SO HAPPY!!"
She grinned, almost jumping from the overwhelming felicity but even if it doesn’t seem possible, I pray for it to be true.
"Nice to meet you too," Violet said to her with a feeble smile, giving Celine a weird look.
After that we all went to have dinner as I smirked at Violet who glared at me, I spoke up again,
"What Happened Violet? Do you want to talk about something?"
"I want to." She said nonchalantly, hitting my nerves.
"Can you come over to our place?" Celine asked.
"No. She can't." her mother said.
"Why?"Celine asked again.
"Celine If Ma'am has said that she won't, then she won't. Got it?" I told her strictly.
"Okay.."
She said with a pout. Oh don't worry sister, she is gonna live with your brother forever...
After dinner, Me and Violet went to the rooftop as Celine, being a 20 year old kid, began to play video games with 15 year old Kenneth.
When we went to the rooftop, I opened my mouth to apologize for my deed and ask her for a new start, for a chance to prove myself.
“Violet, I-”
I wanted to start my life peacefully with her. I was about to apologize to become a better person in her shade. That is another matter I have never apologized to anyone.
But, I can do this for her.
But she loves breaking my plan and pushed me away as Violet began to yell at me, cracking the shred of scant expectation I held in my heart.
"Who do you think you are?! We met two years ago, love at first sight!? You are an asshole keeping people in a deception.” She snarled, pointing her finger at me in contempt.
“You are only a selfish egotistical man who thinks he owns the world, who could attach strings to anyone and manipulate them to your desires huh?” She continued but I was supposed to be used to these words
I tell myself these words everyday but hearing it from her pinched my heart.
“Well then, listen to one thing carefully, Mr Raymond Smith.”
Why does everyone hate- I deserve it.
I stood with a stoic face as she came closer, pointing her index at me in contempt, enunciating what shattered my heart badly.
“I'd rather die than be with you!"
I hate how she emphasized the word You. It made me mad. Yes, I am a heartless bastard. Not making others around me but myself to live in falsehood.
“I would never be with you! You are the most insensitive and fake man I have ever met! I hate you from the bottom of my heart!” She yelled, testing my patience.
I am like this and remain as such. Each thing I will touch will become my chattel and I will write it on the skylines that she remains on top of that list.
And that doesn’t mean she could overuse my leniency.
"Violet. Lower your voice. Your baseless words cannot change your future, nothing can change what is going to happen so quit your whining." I ordered her in a stern voice.
Disobey me this time and I shall show you what comes next. I am not generous enough to let go of things a second time.
“Why? What can you do? Intimidate me? Harass me? Is this the only thing a pathetic man like yourself can do?” She snarled.
Breaking my forbearance and the dream I unknowingly bought was destroyed before its foundations could take place.
“I said, enough!”
Suddenly she gasped at me with fear.
“Test me once and you will be left with no reason to speak further.” My voice invoked fright in her when I scowled, threatening her.
“See.. You don’t care. You consider me a thing.” She whispered, making a disgusted face.
Holding the hem of her shirt, her gaze softened with anguish for a bare moment.
“Why are you doing this?” Her voice came out croaked, turning her head away for a second.
“That’s who I am.” I replied coldly, unable to meet her eyes as well.
“You are heartless.” She spat in disgust, glaring at him.
Her, being a fearless woman, she took a deep breath and spoke up again.
"Look... I hate you from the depth of my soul, being with you is like a nightmare.” My jaw clenched, opening my mouth to seal her voice but she continued.
“Don't destroy both mine and your life. I will never love you. This marriage will bring us both hell to stop.” My rage halted for a bare second.
I knew her words hold a glimpse of reality but I have no control over myself. I want her, I will get her.
“Violet.” I called her softly, to tell her that her pleas are meaningless. They cannot change my perception. But she continued.
“Please stop it and go back to your world and let me go back to mine… Please. We are far from each other." She lowered her voice, holding her arm, biting her lips to contain her ache ignorant to my longing.
‘How hard is it for you to give me a chance?’
Judging your dating record, your only option is arrange marriage and when you can have me, who is going to place this world beneath your feet, shower you with your dark and deepest desires then why can’t you give me a chance?
Her words hurt me, constricted my heart. But mostly, it enraged me.
