Chapter 34: Chapter 34
"What are you doing?" He asked. "Looking around." I replied.
"Come here." He motioned me to come closer. I stood in front of him, "What?" I asked.
"Sit." He ordered, motioning me to sit on his lap. My mouth gaped, my heart began to thump against my chest. "Okay..." I said vaguely and abruptly sat on his lap, because I didn't want to anger him and I know he will force me one way or another. He smirked as he kissed my cheeks and began to continue his work. And I don't know why I suddenly felt kinda childish. I wrapped my one hand around him, looking at his handsome features up close. I smiled and began to poke his cheek. At first, he smiled back, but soon got annoyed.
"What?" He asked, irritated. I chuckled childishly and rested my head on his chest. "Nothing..." I said, moving my hand to his neck as well.
"Go to the room... You are tired.." He sighed. I gave him one last poke and a peck on his cheeks and left.
The next day, I was pacing around the room. I am sure I have put it in the nightstand.
I bent down and looked under the bed,
"What are you doing?"
My body froze as I heard his deep assertive voice,
"Raymond...I ..uh.." I trailed off.
"Tell me." He said, "What are you looking for?"
"Umm.. My phone charger..." I said nervously.
"I can help." He said. "No, It's okay." I smiled at him.
He shrugged and left. I couldn't tell him that I lost Our Wedding Ring. I gulped from fear. I couldn't find it. Where has it gone? I am afraid to see his reaction.
We were having breakfast. Celine already took it so she was in the garden, trying the flower crowns I have made.
"Violet." Raymond began to say.
"Y-yes?" I asked sweetly.
"Where is your ring?" He asked, deadpanned. I felt so scared. For these past few days, I've been constantly disobeying him. If he finds out that I lost it, he's gonna kill me. Not being able to bear it, I began to cry.
"Raymond.." His serious expression softened when he saw me crying.
"What is it, love?" He was Concerned.
"I-I am sorry.." I said sobbing.
"Tell me, Violet. What happened?" He asked sweetly.
"I.. I... Lost... I am so sorry... I-I lost our-wedding ring. Please Forgive me.." I cried.
"It's all right...Let's find it together." He said rubbing circles on my hand. I smiled weakly. "You were looking for it before as well, didn't you?" He asked and I nodded. "I am sorry." I whispered in a croaked voice. "It's okay," He smiled.
"Where did you put it last?" He asked, Wiping my tears. I sniffed.
"In our room." We calmed me down as we went to our room.
We began to search. Celine knocked,
"What is it?!" Raymond asked, annoyed as I gasped because of his annoyance. He looked at me and smiled. I smiled back.
"IT'S CELINE!! SISTER, YOU FORGET YOUR RING IN MY ROOM!!" She yelled.
I sighed in relief and looked at Raymond who smiled at me. He offered his hands and I took them, he pulled me up.
Then we left... At least he cares a little about my tears... Just you wait, I will save you. I will make you feel loved. I will become your salvation.
At night, I came to our room and saw Raymond looking out of the window, deep in thoughts. I smiled and walked to him, "Raymond.." He turned to me, "Aren't you sleeping with Celine?" He asked. "No..." I smiled. "I see." He said and turned to look at the Full moon.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" I asked. He raised an eyebrow, "The moon." I said, calling him my Moon but he didn't get it. "It's ugly." He let out a dry chuckle. "It has scars." He sneered. I took a step close, my eyes not removing from his, turning oblivious of the other things around me. "But it's what makes him more appealing."
"It's disgusting." He made a sour face. "No it's not. I could see a pure heart tainted by the abhorrence of this world here." I whispered.
"Where?" He asked, turning his face to me. I looked at him and passed him a sad smile, "Here." He finally understood I was talking about him all this time. His eyes flickered with stagger and distress as he sighed.
"Don't do it, Violet." He said.
"Why...?" I asked in a hoarse whisper. He took a hold of my hand and put it over my chest, letting me feel the sound of his heartbeats, "Because it's empty" he said in a heartbroken whisper.
Referring to the condition of his heart which made him what he is today. An arrow hit me in the chest when he said it. Upon hearing it, A tear rolled down my cheek reflecting my agony to see his destruction.
I swallowed hard to not cry and replied, "I can fill it." I was on the verge of crying. He laughed emptily and mocked, "No one can fill a devoid. It has needs, desires, hatred but no tranquility, no love inside it." He hissed and pulled me close.
"It beats because it hurts, it's warm because it's burning, it's locked because it's dead." He growled as he let go of me and took a step back.
"That's why please..." His voice became unstable, about to sob. "Don't explore it. Leave me be. You can’t do anything." and he left for the bathroom.
I lowered my head as tears rolled down my eyes, I leaned on the wall, hugging my sides sobbing softly. His pain intoxicated my body, I could feel it as well and couldn't pull away from it anymore.
It hurts me to see you hurt and I have decided I wouldn't let it happen anymore. I won't let him be in darkness anymore. I will become his redemption and take him away from all the pains. Never forget Raymond...
