Chapter 879: Chapter 879

Having waited for the perfect opportunity, Du You executed a Shadow Teleport and appeared right beside the four Demon Wizards. He had been biding his time, making his move abruptly just now with a swift teleport.

The distance being quite close, Du You appeared directly among them. Before they could react, Du You didn’t hesitate to unleash the "Star Guardian" skill.

Though "Star Guardian" was a defensive skill, it was actually a powerful passive offensive ability. At close range, this level 30 skill’s attack power was definitely on par with the average tier four offensive ability. Moreover, the skill was instantaneous, making it almost impossible to react.

The two Demon Wizards only had their passive magic defenses activated, which manifested as black barriers around them. But then, 512 spinning black stars shattered their defenses, pulverizing their bodies.

"Hmph, I might not be able to defeat all four of you, but two is certainly no problem," Du You finally breathed a sigh of relief, as the pressure the four Demon Wizards put on him was immense. Content orıginally comes from 𝚗𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚕·𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚎·𝚗𝚎𝚝

"Wait, you shouldn’t fight," the elder spoke, but his two companions were already reduced to debris.

"Why can’t I fight?" Du You scoffed disdainfully.

"Because you’re one of us," the elder pondered for a moment, without dwelling on the fate of the deceased. To them, those who died were of no further use. It was more practical to care for the living. Their death was a result of their lack of skill.

"What? We’re comrades? Did I hear that wrong, or are the two of you senile?"

The elder remained unfazed, continuing, "Stop your pet now, we truly are comrades. The heritage you’ve learned must be from the Dark Shaper, left behind by our comrade, Bruce."

Surprised, Du You had just found out about the origins of his profession, which he had learned from various experiment notes and the most basic elements of a Dark Shaper.

Besides using a Magic Array coupled with the Dark Element Stone to create Summoned Beasts, there were no other accompanying spells handed down. This profession belonged to Du You alone, as only his research inscribed in his domain could be acquired by others.

"You know about the Dark Shaper?" Du You startled. He had never discussed this vocational title with anyone, not even his two sisters knew.

"Of course, we do. Bruce was a celebrity in our Dark Mage circle, with his research focused on Undead Summoning. However, such summoning was always limited by the availability of corpses, causing this branch’s power to fluctuate, making it vulnerable to eradication. Therefore, Bruce sought a method for summoning at will," the elder explained.

"Bruce traveled to many places before deciding to use the Dark Element Stone’s power along with high-quality corpses to create special Summoned Beasts. This meant that even without corpses, one could possess strong combat abilities."

Another person chimed in, "Yes, Bruce named this new profession ’Dark Shaper.’ We never knew he had succeeded, which makes you one of our Dark Mage lineage."

Du You was slightly dazed, not expecting such an intriguing backstory for his profession. However, he wouldn’t admit to being on the same side as them; after all, he was a Professional whose powers came from Earth.

"So do you still have any records or other information about the Dark Shaper?"

The two shook their heads, "No records at all. When Bruce was researching, he left on his own, and nobody supported his idea. Plus, he was young then, and I wasn’t strong enough to be involved in such matters."

"In other words, there’s nothing beneficial left on your side."

Sensing something, the elder quickly said, "How could that be? Our research on dark and undead attributes is unparalleled. You cannot access such knowledge in the human world. We are comrades. Join us, and together we can control this world."

Rolling his eyes, Du You scoffed inwardly at the idea of controlling the world. If demons were to enter in large numbers, it would lead to the world’s destruction. Either these people would become demons or be devoured by them—fools all of them. Du You, being from Earth, knew the true nature of demons far better than the people of this world did.

"You say we’re comrades? Ridiculous, even within the dark attribute, there is a divide between good and evil."

All of a sudden, Du You ignited the Hellfire Spiders he had covertly placed on the ground. The two reacted to the threat of the Hellfire Spiders and simultaneously cast their defense spells.

The elder had swirly grey barriers emerge around him, perfectly blocking all the explosions, while the other became intangible, seemingly unaffected by the blasts.

This was clearly a prepared defense. Indeed, neither had let their guard down around Du You.

"Let’s see if you can withstand my next attack," Du You continued without hesitation, unleashing a flurry of dark arrows. Being inherently weaker and having expended much energy earlier, the two were outmatched.

Suddenly, a scream echoed from behind—a Demon Beetle’s head had been crushed by Lin Yucha’s two arrows, finally killing it. Moments later, another unlucky beetle was flattened by one of the Heavenly Disaster Demonic Dogs, meeting a gruesome end.

The Demon Wizards were taken aback, splitting their focus. That’s when Du You smiled. Suddenly a huge eyeball appeared in the sky: the Eye of the Death God. It was Du You’s first use of the skill he had obtained.

The eyeball focused on the elder, and a red glow enveloped him. Although the skill was only level 30, the power was still formidable. The elder immediately bled from every orifice, a ghastly sight.

However, Du You could sense that the skill lacked the power to kill. The veteran Demon Wizard somehow survived, but Du You seized the moment the elder was targeted by the Eye of the Death God and hurled a few Hellfire Spiders at him.

With a "boom," the Hellfire Spiders exploded in tandem with the Eye of the Death God, and the elder was instantly reduced to ash.

"No, you can’t kill us," the last one yelled in terror, but Du You had no intention of sparing him. With only one opponent left, there was no match for Du You.

"The Eye of the Death God is indeed useful. This guy’s intangibility has a long cooldown, it’s useless in fierce combat," Du You thought, continuously firing a barrage of arrows. Eventually, the other had no choice but to rely on different defense spells to resist.
