Chapter 877: Chapter 877
Bubbles looked up, and a vast radiance descended from the sky. Dispersion Aura, Divine Blessing. Bathed in the light, the demons’ strength diminished, their dark energy continuously scattered, growing weaker and weaker.
Conversely, the strength of the Grey Elves and Du You’s Summoned Beasts began to surge dramatically.
Then, the group Holy Healing Skill erupted, and the injuries on some of the wounded Grey Elves healed quickly, allowing these elves to fight without reservation. As for the erosion by the demons’ power, it was utterly ineffective under the radiance.
Although Du You and the two sisters were anxious, they didn’t dare act rashly. Fourth-tier demons were not so easily dealt with.
Without the advantage of a surprise attack or outnumbering their opponent, even with the strength of Du You and his companions, it would take several attacks to kill a fourth-tier demon—a tier not so simple to handle.
Gradually, as they continued their assault, the eyes of the demons turned blood-red. The fourth-tier demons stopped talking and attacked furiously, as if anger had robbed them of their reason.
In the midst of this, four bedraggled figures in black, seething with hatred, surveyed the chaos before them. Previously, this was the site of a large Summoning Array, which they had been using to summon demons.
"Damn it, we were so close. Who the hell did this? I want them dead,"
a deep voice roared. Their goal was to summon enough demons and then offer a sacrifice to a powerful Demon Lord, thereby gaining even greater strength.
For this purpose, they had come from afar, avoiding the belligerent Beastmen and steering clear of hostile humans and normal Elves, choosing this dangerous but secluded part of the Grey Elf Forest, far from other troubles.
Everything had been going according to plan. Before the Grey Elves could interfere, they would have completed the final summoning and communicated with the Demon Lord. Even if the Grey Elves unexpectedly advanced more quickly, they were not concerned.
Once the Demon Gate was constructed, even ten times the number of Grey Elves would not pose a threat to them.
But what they hadn’t expected was for a powerful Mage to be in the area, and a Dark Mage with Dark Attribute at that. In just two short minutes, he had directed five enormous fireballs. These fireballs, formed within the spatial rifts, were beyond their control. As for their power, it wasn’t something they could resist—almost nearing the might of a fifth-tier Magic.
One after another, they couldn’t fully block them, and as a result, the Summoning Array they had painstakingly constructed was destroyed in the aftermath. The backlash left them all trembling.
"Enough. The summoning failed. Now we’ll have to deal with those Grey Elves and the interfering Mage ourselves,"
"Damn it. Even after hiding so far away, they still managed to . Moreover, it wasn’t a Light-Attribute parish priest who came, but a Dark Mage with Dark Attribute. Damn it, why is the Dark Mage opposing us?"
As they spoke, they sensed the number of demons outside diminishing rapidly.
"We can’t wait any longer, let’s make our final stand. If we don’t, there’s no chance left. With so many demons dead here, it’s an opportunity to complete the sacrifice using their corpses," an aged voice said.
The others had no other options, thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement. Several quickly drew strange symbols on the ground. In the air, a disquieting atmosphere began to spread gradually.
"Strange, why do I feel the elemental fluctuations around us are somewhat odd?" Du You furrowed his brow and said.
"Notify everyone to speed up, those Demon Wizards seem to be preparing something."
No sooner had Du You spoken than a special wave of magical power burst forth. The corpses of the demons on the ground suddenly began to decay rapidly as if time had accelerated. Du You could feel the magic power converging towards the center.
But as Du You tried to get closer, he was blocked by the remaining demons. He did not dare to underestimate these tier-four demons; a careless move and he could easily be capsized in the gutter, dying would be a joke. Follow current novᴇls on 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡~𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢~𝙣𝙚𝙩
In the center, a large quantity of demonic power gathered. Four Demon Wizards chanted in the demonic tongue, and their ancient and desolate voices echoed through the void. In the air, a blood-like substance materialized out of nowhere, converging within the Magic Array.
"Ascend," commanded the four Demon Wizards as they drew the viscous blood towards two beetles beside them. Two for each person, eight in total. The eight beetles writhed in agony, growing larger and larger.
"Those Demon Wizards are using forbidden magic. We must speed up; we can’t let them succeed." Not only did Du You feel the urgency, but even the slower Grey Elf Mages noticed something was amiss.
Grey Elf Mages relied on elemental magic, and they had to chant spells before they could gather magical power to cast. In terms of casting speed, they were no match for Du You.
"No more hesitation," Du You thought as he unfolded his Resentful Souls Domain. He had held back earlier, worried about the Grey Elves’ adverse reactions, but now he cast such concerns aside; he could not afford to fall here.
However, Du You was overthinking it. Rituals involving soul-type magic were quite common, and the Grey Elves found nothing strange about it. When countless resentful souls appeared out of the Void, the Grey Elves merely glanced over without comment. With these souls randomly casting various curses, the demons became increasingly affected.
Lesser demons either died on the spot or were easily killed. While the high-tier demons were less affected, without the aid of the ordinary lesser demons, the rest could focus their efforts, making it easier to kill them.
After merely ten minutes, all the demons lay dead at their hands. The army advanced and finally reached the core area. What they saw were four panting Demon Wizards hiding under their head coverings.
Around them, however, stood eight giant beetles, over thirteen feet tall, radiating a fierce aura. Their blood-red eyes emitted an evil glow. "Hahaha, come, taste our Dark Beetles, and see if your magic is still of any use."
The beetles, strengthened after the sacrifice, were valued for their defense and magic resistance. Even if they couldn’t kill the enemy, they could at least escape with their lives. As long as they survived, they could rise again. The Grey Elves didn’t waste words; by that time, countless arrows had already been sent their way. The magical power and Dou Qi carried by the arrows revealed their intentions.
Even the sister duo Lin Yushi and Lin Yucha didn’t hesitate to release their skills, aiming at several demons.
