Chapter 752: Chapter 752

Just as Du You was ready to grit his teeth and take on the fight, all of the orbs and police robots suddenly came to a halt. Their glowing eyes flickered, instantly losing their combative intent.

A moment later, these mechanical beings turned around and dispersed as if nothing had happened.

"What’s going on? Could someone be controlling these things? Who could it be?"

Du You speculated silently, but he did not leave. If someone was controlling these devices, it meant that someone wanted to contact him about something. No matter what the reason was, this was a good opportunity to join a force.

As long as the main mission was accomplished, he could then have the upper hand or at least be in a defensive position.

As expected, shortly afterwards, a vehicle resembling a van flew over. "Hurry up and get in. Someone else will discover us here soon." A voice called out. Du You thought for a moment and proceeded towards the vehicle. The two sisters closely followed him, and as soon as the three of them got in, the doors automatically closed, and the vehicle accelerated and vanished into the alley.

Not long after their departure, a group of robots returned to investigate the location.

After all, losing so many robots all at once and making such a ruckus was bound to draw someone’s attention. Moreover, this time, it wasn’t just robots, but some actual humans also arrived.

The vehicle carried Du You onward, but the other party remained silent. After an unknown period, the vehicle turned into a suddenly appearing tunnel, descending underground.

When the vehicle finally stopped, Du You realized that they had entered an underground base. The interior was decorated with a mix of futuristic and various other styles.

"Come on out. Welcome, new Professional," the man opened his arms in a welcoming gesture.

Du You embraced him, noticing that the man was of Western descent, not the Eastern people he was familiar with. "Can you tell me what this place is, and what’s going on here?"

There were no tags on the man’s forehead, so Du You couldn’t tell if he was a Professional like himself, or if he had already reached the fourth tier.

"I’m Smith, the host of this base, exclusively dealing with Professionals. We are a Professional guild spanning the entire Star Ring Alliance. Those trapped in this world, their descendants, all are members of this guild. Each planet has our branch and countless offices; this is one of them."

"Hi, I’m Du You from the Asia Alliance," Du You replied.

"Oh, I wouldn’t use Earth’s forces to differentiate here. The Star Ring world is very large and advanced; it’s an Otherworld. Judging by your look, it seems you didn’t purposely come to this world."

Suddenly, Smith realized something and said, "I almost forgot, looking at your methods, you definitely don’t follow the path of technology."

Du You wasn’t foolish enough to divulge the reason for his visit here; all he said was: "Recently, we’ve wanted to emulate the Planar Hunters, so we tried random teleportation and wound up here."

"Planar Hunters, that’s an incredible profession, but very risky. I’m afraid you guys didn’t gain much this time, this world has been discovered by many and it’s a widely known technological world amongst many alliances."

Du You felt slightly embarrassed. If he had paid more attention, he would have known about a famous world . It’s just that he’d never intended to follow the technology route, which although had advantages, came with drawbacks as well.

It was very powerful in the early stages, but also presented many disadvantages. Especially in the later stages, because technological products are generally external objects, and reaching higher stages with these was immensely difficult. Most Professionals on the technological path face this predicament. Plus, they themselves don’t have much combat ability, arguably making them the weakest among all Professionals.

If targeted or ambushed, they would be in grave danger.

Furthermore, Professionals on the technology path, after reaching a certain height, find it extremely difficult to progress further. Whether it’s finding advanced technological weapons or improving oneself, they inevitably get stuck at some point.

Therefore, the technology path is strong, but few, especially Loose Practitioners, choose it.

Reportedly, many from the American Alliance follow this path, contributing to their Professionals being very dominant below the third tier.

Seeing Du You lost in thought, Smith assumed he was worried about the previous incident and reassured him: "Relax, the incident you encountered earlier was a minor one. We encounter many similar situations and know how to handle them."

"Every year we save many Professionals who have either accidentally ended up here or are unfamiliar with the place and have had bad luck being hunted down. Our guild is all about mutual aid and assistance. But, if you want other services, then you must provide Crystal Coins. This is also the cost of maintaining the operation of our guild."

Du You nodded in agreement, finding it reasonable. As for whether the assimilated people and locals here were not using Crystal Coins, that was no problem. These Crystal Coins could be traded with other Professionals.

Perhaps it’s hard to obtain better technological items than this world offers, but if you want to obtain something that a technological world doesn’t have, it’s easy with Crystal Coins. Many such objects can have extremely powerful effects.

"Earlier, our skilled hacker directly invaded and controlled the police system, causing those police robots to leave. The police must have discovered this by now. However, it’s not a problem. There isn’t only one force in the Star Ring Alliance. Frequent acts of destruction between some rival forces are normal; we just have to pin it onto these people."

So, there are organisations here similar to terrorists. Du You just wondered if any of them would stand out and take responsibility for certain matters—that would leave him speechless.

"Well, here we are. If you want to understand some general knowledge about this world, it’s all recorded here. If you need anything, just let us know. We charge reasonable fees and as long as you have Crystal Coins, everything here is guaranteed to your satisfaction. If you don’t have Crystal Coins, you can substitute them with other things. I know you Professionals have a lot of good stuff." Read full story at 𝗇𝗈𝗏𝖾𝗅•𝖿𝗂𝗋𝖾•𝗇𝖾𝗍

Alright, Du You concluded that the man before him, Smith, was not a Professional. Moreover, he wasn’t a fourth-tier individual either. Thus, his lack of label meant he was a regular individual—with no powers at all.

But in a world of technology, regular individuals lacking inherent powers can’t always be underestimated. Who knew what kind of technological capabilities and weapons these people might harbor?
