Chapter 694: Chapter 694

Du You didn’t act directly, simply because there were too few spiders on the periphery. He didn’t know how many there were inside, and to fully utilize his Putrid Insect Mist, there needed to be the right conditions.

So, they left after discussing amongst themselves. The three of them first went to investigate the area where the spiders were active, and then hunted some magical beasts and animals in places where prey was more abundant.

In the eyes of Du You and his companions, low-level magical beasts and animals were much the same.

"We’re still too far away, the underground cave seems to be incredibly extensive, I wonder how many spiders there are inside."

"The more the better, otherwise our abilities won’t have the chance to shine, and we might not be able to complete the task." A hidden cleaning mission appeared timely on the panel, which seemed related to Du You’s own desire.

The first requirement for this task was to have an impact on the world. After cleaning this area, the people of the Divine Flame Empire could occupy it in the future. The environment of these caverns might be unsuitable, but it’s a great place for hunting activities. Whether it’s farming or hunting, it can feed plenty of people.

In the future, I suspect that even nobility will be fighting over these lands to establish new domains.

Even if these territories are on the border, they are still much better than those in the south."

"That’s enough for now, let’s go back." Du You looked at his personal space, containing dozens of animal corpses. If it weren’t for the fact that nothing can remain inside without his conscious thought, Du You would have been worried about these corpses contaminating his space.

After returning to the back of the cavern, Du You threw the corpses down from mid-air.

Du You didn’t favor a direct confrontation with these spiders. He had noticed that a good number of these spiders were capable of aerial attacks. They could shoot spider webs into the air, which worked well against some airborne creatures.

Du You didn’t want to be brought down by these things. So when he threw the corpses down, immediately it attracted the attention of a number of spiders.

For the most part, there was little movement around the corpses. But in some places, small spiders crept out to gnaw at the carcasses. Larger spiders also came out to relish in the unexpected feast.

Du You gave a nonchalant smile, "Enjoy it, there’s more to come." Du You, mounted on the Black Jade Griffin, dove from the sky, and released his Putrid Insect Mist.

The corpses weren’t going to defend themselves, so beetles easily gnawed on them and made their way inside.

The spiders, with their pitifully small brains, had no idea what was happening. They were surprised to find beetles crawling out of the corpses. Some tried attacking, only to find the beetles were not bothered by them at all.

The spiders’ poison didn’t deter the beetles, and even the poisonous spiders were ineffective. Spider webs could ensnare beetles, but they just struggled for a bit and escaped from the webbing.

Where the beetles freed themselves, the dark element-infused spider webs lost their stickiness. They were still tough, but only good for use as rope. Yet, the beetles showed no mercy when it came to dealing with spiders. They attacked and devoured the spiders, then infiltrated their bodies.

Their hard exoskeletons could offer some resistance, but their soft abdomen, the biggest weak point, wasn’t protected.

As for the spider web inside the spiders, it became a source of nutrition helping the beetles reproduce. Soon, all the prey down below was devoured, and a large number of dark beetles appeared and flew inside the cave. For more chapters visıt 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡⁂𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢⁂𝘯𝘦𝘵

The beetles knew where life exists without Du You’s intervention. All Du You had to do was specify what they could eat, and what they could not, and that was all.

"Let’s go, the action’s started over here, so let’s get to the front." The three of them once again flew to where the spiders were active. The surrounding forests here were full of spider webs, turning the area into a trap-filled region.

Du You, however, didn’t mind. Looking at the active spiders and some animals, Du You released his Putrid Insect Mist without any hesitation. Similarly, before understanding how to resist this, these creatures were very vulnerable.

A swarm of beetles emerged in large numbers, soon forming a significant force. Under Du You’s control, the beetles surged into the cave entrances, beginning to devour the prey inside the caves.

Normally, these caves acted as the best sanctuary for spiders. Once inside, no creature could match the spiders. But today, they realized their own undoing—the cave was too narrow for them to move freely, let alone fight. As a result, they were left at the mercy of the tiny beetles.

After the beetles multiplied, endmost spiders finally came in contact. Still due to the insufficient space, the spiders could only huddle together, layer after layer, gradually being devoured by the beetles.

Gradually, Du You felt the ground start to shake. "Ha, the spiders are getting restless, seems like they’re rebelling, but it’s useless." The more the spiders tried to move, the more chances the beetles had to take advantage.

The beetles were freely moving around inside the cave, but, the spiders, at least the size of millstones, couldn’t do the same.

Du You couldn’t see the exact situation inside, but he could imagine based on the ground vibrations. Later, red light balls started to appear in Du You’s personal space—it confirmed his assumptions.

"Prepare to open the sphere, this time I’ll join you." Du You had the three birds circling in the air to observe, while he sat with the two sisters on the Platform Floating Cloud, to open the sphere together.

This place was too far from his territory and he lacked influence, therefore, the things he didn’t want here, could only be wasted. Du You didn’t want to leave these resources for the rival nobles.

So, the three of them sat directly above a river, discarding unwanted items in the water. Some sank to the bottom, some flowed downstream. This river wasn’t devoid of life.

After the discarded items floated downstream, those that weren’t snatched up by the magical beasts and picked up by humans were surely minimal. Especially the materials from the spiders, they would definitely end up as fodder for the magical beasts.

With the continuing battle, green light balls started to appear. This indicated that the beetles had come into contact with tier three spiders. Unfortunately, in such a narrow space, due to their larger size, the three tier spiders had no room for manoeuvre. Ultimately, they ended up just like the tier two spiders, under the jaws of the beetles.
