Chapter 665: Chapter 665

Early next morning, Du You had just risen when someone came looking for him. It wasn’t the curious Gray Sparrow from the day before, but another stranger who was also third-tier in ability.

The man didn’t introduce himself but simply presented his credentials, "Start moving immediately. Do not bring anyone irrelevant. Our men will cover all traces along the way."

"Do we have to be so cautious? Can’t I finish my meal first?" Du You was still in the middle of his meal.

It really baffled him how much these people seemed to disregard him. Even though he was a count and part of the large nobility, their attitude clearly showed no respect.

Of course, Du You understood that his lack of deep-rooted connections in the empire led some people to look down on him. However, he was not one to be belittled. Their attitude was truly infuriating.

"Eat on the road, time is pressing, this plan is crucial."

The man glared incessantly at Du You, making it clear that he would resort to force if Du You did not comply. Although Du You wasn’t daunted, he despised unnecessary trouble. His territory was prospering well and he didn’t want to provide an excuse for someone to attack it. Given this, he swallowed his anger.

His unfinished meal wasn’t really an issue. He had survived in much worse conditions during times when he hunted demons.

"Alright, let’s go." Du You called out to the two sisters and the three of them followed the man out. As they walked out the large gates, indeed, others were appearing in their wake, clearing all traces.

"Move. This is the Empire’s Pegasus, incredibly quick." The man led Du You to an open area where a Pegasus was already waiting. His eyes held a distinct look of contempt.

Du You chuckled coldly, "No need. We have this. It flies even faster." Du You summoned Xiaozi and the Black Jade Griffin. Their overwhelming aura startled the Pegasus into a snort of unease.

The man was taken aback, having not expected that Du You could summon two third-tier creatures. There was a slight change in his eyes. Du You internally laughed, imagining the man’s lower face hidden by the mask to be rather flustered.

"Since you have your own air mounts, just follow along, don’t fall behind."

Although he said this, he knew very well that the Griffin and the eagle were much faster than the Pegasus, not to mention their higher rank. They flew southward, reaching the coastline of a very secluded place by noon.

By then, a considerable number of people were already gathered. Looking at the labels over their heads, they were all third-tier, solidly strong. Most of them were special forces from South Mountain City, discernible by their unique gear. Few were military from the same city.

As it turned out, he was the only noble present, actually participating in the action.

He wondered why he had been specifically chosen for this operation, vaguely feeling as if someone was targeting him. Fresh chapters posted on 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭·𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢·𝗇𝗲𝘵

"Whoever is aiming at me, don’t let me find out. Otherwise, I’ll make you regret it." Du You thought to himself.

The people here were high-quality, not wasting words and simply standing by. Du You saw the familiar Gray Sparrow, who was acting similarly.

Unlike others though, the Gray Sparrow was somewhat more active, not restrained by the serious atmosphere.

"When do we depart, and where is the specific location?"

Du You inquired casually. Gray Sparrow didn’t seem to be aware of others’ opinions and merely said, "We set off at dusk. You’ll know the exact location when the time comes."

"Then why insist that I come? There is no other noble here except from me."

"There are nobles, but they are all meritorious nobility. However, you are the only lord. As for why you were chosen, some said it is because of your formidable strength, that’s all."

Du You nodded in understanding. It was certainly ’some people’ who targeted him, he just needed to be aware. As for the specifics, even if Gray Sparrow knew, he wouldn’t reveal them.

Du You had long understood that Gray Sparrow wouldn’t disclose any secret information to anyone.

As the sky grew dark, a dark shadow suddenly emerged on the coastline. "Let’s go, that’s our transportation."

Du You glanced over and found it was a ship, which had just emerged from the water. "Is this what the empire developed according to our data? It looks quite similar."

"It seems identical on the surface, but it doesn’t require Murlocs to pull and its speed is very fast. Let’s go, we are wasting time."

Around the same time, people started to leap into the water. Du You was astounded to discover that the operation involved more than one hundred participants. An ambush by over a hundred third-tier masters, was it necessary?

All the same, Du You had no time to debate this and followed the others quickly into the ship. Contrary to his expectations, the interior of the ship was dry, not damp at all.

Below the cabin, there was even a window for observing the outside, albeit small in size. The ship quickly descended; runes flickered, repelling all seawater while allowing air to pass through the thin membrane. Fish swam by from time to time, but none were able to penetrate that thin membrane.

Observing the scenes outside, Du You found that the ship was indeed very fast.

After a period of time which Du You lost track of, he noticed that the ship’s speed had slowed and peculiar figures appeared around them.

"Those are Black-scaled Murlocs from the tribes controlled by our Empire. They are responsible for secure travels underwater," Gray Sparrow informed Du You. As Du You saw, those Murlocs were indeed pitch black, even their bellies.

Each of their scales, and the skin underneath, was black. They seemed to blend naturally into the dark water.

Before Du You could think much about it, a battle seemed to erupt ahead. Due to his Dark Physique, he could see clearly under the water what was occurring, while others could see and hear nothing.

But Du You could see hordes of other murlocs appearing, grappling with the Black-scaled Murlocs. Visions of blood flashed by momentarily in the water, real blood. It seemed they were nearing the destination and those new Murlocs must be the Spotted Murlocs.
