Chapter 613: Chapter 613

Just as Du You was about to continue his interrogation, the Snow Emperor suddenly stopped talking.

"Alright, I need to conserve my energy. If you die, I will preserve my power for the next warrior. Now, your trial begins. If you successfully pass the trial, you’ll have my treasure."

With that, the image of the Snow Emperor disappeared. Yes, it was still just an image, not the real Snow Emperor. Or perhaps, it was a remnant of the Snow Emperor’s power and thoughts.

It’s astounding that a fifth-tier entity could preserve its consciousness for thousands of years. To Du You, anyone capable of that might as well be a god.

The power that doesn’t wane for thousands of years, the fifth tier is indeed a formidable level.

Just as the Snow Emperor disappeared, Du You suddenly felt a change in the environment. The original image was gradually shattered and disappeared, replaced by another place, no, it seemed to be the same hall.

"Everyone be careful, I fear the battle is about to begin."

No sooner had Du You finished speaking, than the illusion around them completely vanished. Du You could see that the hall was indeed the Snow Emperor’s, but it wasn’t the resplendent hall of before, it had turned into a scene of ruin.

This place, located high in the mountains, was devoid of insects or spider webs, but the devastation was apparent. Two pillars had collapsed onto the ground; they must have been for decorative purposes.

The hall was filled with decayed and destroyed objects.

What struck Du You the most were the abundant human bones on the ground. They were holding weapons, most of which had decayed, but two had a faint glow.

It was unclear whether these weapons had decayed from time, or had been destroyed in battle. The corpses ranged from being entirely intact, to being shattered, some even broken along with their armor.

Two skulls were sitting in what seemed to be prestigious spots, but their bones still bore wounds.

What captured Du You’s attention the most was in the center of the hall. The original throne was nowhere to be found, replaced by a towering dried corpse.

If judged by its height, the dried corpse should be as tall as the Snow Emperor, just much thinner. It was holding a staff made of bone that seemed to be made of a complete spine crowned with a skull.

The corpse emitted a chilling air, as well as a strong sense of darkness. The dark power was intensely evil, blending death and frost in a twisted embrace, though not truly combined.

Dark Ice King: Level 20/50 (Transformation incomplete)

"This must be the body left by the Snow Emperor, it would’ve reached the third tier if we’d come a little later. But at only level 20, perhaps we can handle it. But everyone be careful." After taking a deep breath, Du You felt hopeful.

Most creatures at level 20 are easy kills for Du You. Even professionals of the same level wouldn’t be able to withstand his attacks unless they restrain him.

The Dark Ice King tapped his staff on the ground and the skeletons around him started to stand up. At the same time, numerous zombies appeared from the void, quickly crowding the vacant hall.

"This feels like a game refresh, they must be summoning minions."

As Du You complained, a huge gray-black aura appeared around the Dark Ice King. With the emergence of the aura, the power of all the skeletons increased drastically.

"They are all second-tier, be careful, let me see how easy these things are to deal with."

Facing a life-and-death crisis, Du You unhesitatingly summoned his unicorn. The unicorn, aware of the situation, released its aura without hesitation, power converging on its body, ready to fight at any moment.

Although the Dispersion Aura was not specifically against the undead, it dispelled negative energies from them. Unnoticed, the other side had cast a hidden curse on Du You. It might not be noticeable now, but it could become increasingly dangerous over time.

Without any delay, Du You began to cast Dark Swamp on the ground around him in an attempt to hinder the undead. While they were slowed, Du You began to bombard them with Dark Flame Arrow Arrays.

At the same time, the two sisters repeatedly attacked skeletons around them, with effective results. Their Demon Hunter Shooter professions not only countered demons, but all evil creatures. The skeletons present and the Dark Ice King, undergoing an undead transformation, would qualify as members of the evil creatures.

Meanwhile, their pets sprung into action. A gorilla at the front used all its strength to keep any undead creature from approaching Du You and the others.

The unicorn was no less remarkable, casting wide-ranging Divine Blessings. To the undead, Divine Blessing was akin to poison. Once tainted, their bodies would start to corrode, causing significant damage.

The Black Jade Griffin, that hadn’t died previously, was summoned by Du You and placed to one side. The hall didn’t have enough space for the Black Jade Griffin to fly, it could only stay on the ground.

Wind Blades and Wind Blade Balls. Numerous attack spells were released from the Black Jade Griffin.

Inside the hall, winds formed by the dark power swirled around, annihilating the skeletons one by one.

Du You began by sprinkling plenty of Dark Stars, enhancing the attack effect of dark power, then repeatedly used stacked Dark Flame Arrow Arrays. This tactic was most suitable when facing numerous foes.

Unfortunately, there was no time to release the Destruction Flames, else the effect would be even better. Unfortunately, the hall was small, and Du You wasn’t sure whether the Destruction Flames would be blocked by the hall, or would they appear directly within it.

If it was blocked, there would be no effect, if it appeared directly in here, they would be inadvertently engulfed.

Seeing his minions being struck, the Dark Ice King finally launched his own attack. He pointed his staff, and an extremely evil force began to converge. Du You immediately felt unbearably nauseated, as though he’d feel better if he could vomit out his innards. His body glimmered for an instant, and his discomfort vanished, courtesy of the Dispersion Aura.

"Damn, it’s a curse. An extremely powerful curse." Du You quickly warned the others. Read full story at 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵⚑𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮⚑𝓷𝓮𝓽
