Chapter 414: Chapter 414
Du You raised his hand and a translucent white light shot out. Today, supplemented by his equipment and personal skills, Du You’s Disintegration Spell was incredibly fast.
However, what Du You hadn’t expected was that the Demon Wolf’s speed was even faster.
A burst of fire erupted from its body, and it instantly evaded his attack. The spell hit the ground, causing a sudden explosion of dust.
"Kid, you must be bluffing, you’re not strong enough to be a hunter, I’ve overestimated you. Killing a genius...now that’s thrilling."
Facing Du You’s fresh attack and realizing it wasn’t as powerful as he had thought, the Demon Wolf felt deceived. Yet, he was unaware of the specifics.
The spell Du You had used earlier seemed impressive but indeed was only level 10, albeit of a higher star tier.
But as Du You had leveled up, the power of the Holy Light Arrow Array was suppressed. Du You had killed all of the Demon Wolf’s helpers with just one strike earlier, making the Demon Wolf mistake him for a hunter.
Looking back, the earlier attack was not very strong, just above average among awakeners, and in great quantity. It’s sudden outburst at such a close range had caused this misunderstanding.
If the previous attack was so weak, then the enemy must be a genius among the Awakeners.
Only Du You understood that the previous spell was extremely powerful. If his level 11 Disintegration Spell hit the Demon Wolf, it would be left in rough shape. But this was a Rule Spell.
When it hit the ground, there was virtually no resistance. Thus, the Disintegration Spell exploded, reducing the ground into even finer particles.
Although the ground had become more granular, essentially still soil, the spell didn’t possess any impact or destructive force, so it only stirred some dust, appearing as though it didn’t cause harm. However, if one were to examine the ground closely, they would find that not a single piece of gravel was left, it was all turned into sand.
Seeing that Du You remained silent, the Demon Wolf thought he had figured out the truth and charged at Du You once again. At this point, he wasn’t thinking about the valuable items on Du You, he just wanted to kill him.
A genius who could pose a threat to him, was something he did not want, especially not when the proponent had the upper hand.
Who knows what kind of people or tactics he has in reserve, he would rather earn nothing this time. The Demon Wolf had survived until now because he never let greed lead him into danger.
Before making a move, he would always investigate fully, ensuring the opponent couldn’t escape and wasn’t a match for him. Furthermore, he never left behind any potential threats to him in the future.
Spouting phrases about sparing lives was always a lie.
When facing potential threats, the Demon Wolf always annihilated them thoroughly without letting greed cloud his judgment. As for his subordinates, he could always find new ones, he had experienced losses before.
The Demon Wolf threw a punch at Du You and screamed, "Impact Fist!"
Along with the punch, a flame concentrated on his fist, amplified by the knuckle guard, it turned into a monstrous blaze. This incoming attack not only targeted him but also included the two sisters behind him. If he didn’t defend, they would certainly be killed. This opponent had the nerve to be this decisive.
Without a second thought, Du You summoned a black barrier in front of him. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡•𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢•𝕟𝕖𝕥
A Shield Spell. Ever since Du You leveled up, there have been some changes to the Shield Spell. If it was once a faintly purple semi-transparent shield, it had now turned into a blackout shield specked with dots.
Looking straight at it, it resembled a translucent black crystal with a mystifying and enchanting color.
The flames impacted the Shield Spell and were entirely blocked without causing even a ripple.
"How is this possible," the Demon Wolf had never expected that his attack would be blocked so effortlessly. Most second-tier demons would dare not take his attack head-on.
Suddenly, the Demon Wolf realized that he might have underestimated his opponent. Today, he had bumped into a tough nut to crack.
With that in mind, the Demon Wolf turned and ran. Du You had just released a Disintegration Spell, but it missed due to the sudden speed burst from the Demon Wolf. The spell landed on a corpse, instantly reducing it to a puddle of flesh.
This convinced the Demon Wolf even more of Du You’s strength; he was much stronger than he appeared to be.
The previous spell attack was terrifying when it hit the ground, something he hadn’t noticed before. "This is troublesome, it’s a rule-type attack. Where did this freak come from?"
Rule-type attacks were rare, it wasn’t something you can just produce with lots of Crystal Coins. A reference object and a large amount of Crystal Coins were necessary for its creation.
Du You was able to create the Disintegration Spell by utilizing the special rule he had observed from the Spell Rule Stone during his level-up, and by burning lots of White Crystal Coins.
Besides the Disintegration Spell, Du You’s Rule Spell capabilities are only matched by his other spell, the Dissolution Spell.
"Trying to run? Do you think it’s easy?" To deal with such scum, especially those who fell into his own hands, Du You wouldn’t allow him to escape. Moreover, it would be troublesome if they ran and brought more people.
If more people were drawn in, although he wasn’t afraid, the two sisters, Lin Yucha and Lin Yushi, might not be able to escape unscathed.
The Demon Wolf was fast, but not faster than a hawk in the sky. And the Demon Wolf’s speed was explosive. He likely had some kind of burst-type skill which let him accelerate suddenly, then stop.
Barely did he complete his sudden acceleration, and before he could continue to flee, Xiaozi, who had yet to act, took action. A Thunder Light Orb came down from the sky, its speed much faster than the Demon Wolf even after his acceleration.
A scream echoed through the air, and the unlucky Demon Wolf was knocked flying. In the nick of time, the Demon Wolf managed to ignite a burst of fire, which mitigated the damage, preventing a fatal blow. Nevertheless, he was severely wounded and lay on the ground looking miserable.
"Wait, I have something to say, I know a secret."
Du You sneered, "Stop with the tricks, do you really think I can’t see?"
He himself could not see, but his level 11 Spiritual Perception clearly sensed an added object in the Demon Wolf’s hands. He didn’t know what it was, but it certainly was not benign.
As he spoke, Du You’s third Disintegration Spell was already being cast.
