Chapter 343: Chapter 343
"These bastards, it’s bloody chaos, and yet they still think of running away." Finally, one of the black warriors couldn’t hold on any longer and began retreating. However, the people in front didn’t know about it and only saw their comrades abandon them.
Already a mess, the connected front lines became even more chaotic.
We haven’t even begun fighting, and our side has already fallen into disarray. Even the black priests and warriors were now incessantly arguing among themselves to no avail.
"No, it’s not good! There are monsters coming from behind. No, wait, it’s not monsters, it’s the dead! The dead have risen!" Suddenly, hysteria ensued as someone screamed in terror.
"Get lost, causing a ruckus over nothing," a towering black priest stepped out of his tent, warily examining the sky for any threat. Upon finding none, he turned around. Their tents, made from leaves, were not meant for living, but to shield them from prying eyes. The rear wasn’t under heavy attack, thanks to its strategic location.
As the priest glanced towards the rear, his face paled. He saw many people he recognized walking stiffly towards him, but he could sense that the breath of life was no longer present in them.
"Third Elder, what do we do? These people, have they betrayed us?"
"No, they haven’t betrayed us. They’re dead, and someone is controlling their corpses. It’s a desecration of the dead," the Third Elder, having seen much in his life, recognized this as necromancy.
"My royal guards, come forth. We must find out who is manipulating these corpses."
As he ordered, a group of black warriors emerged with weapons in hand and the Third Elder’s magic began to manifest. Despite its prevalence in many worlds, the power of a priest was not the same everywhere.
Red light began to wrap around the royal guard, washing away the anger in their eyes and replacing it with frenzied devotion. Under the glow of the red light, the strength and speed of the black warriors saw a significant boost, and they no longer had any fear of death.
The black warriors charged forward, hewing down a zombie with a single ax swing, cutting it cleanly in half.
"They still won’t die? Do we need to go for the head? Then let’s attack the head!" After a short exchange, the Third Elder realized something was amiss and swiftly ordered his men to change tactics.
In an instant, the zombies suffered heavy losses. From behind, Ghost King noticed this and his expression turned slightly uneasy.
He knew his horde of zombies was formidable, but individual zombies were notably weak. His opponent was not only still alive but also a second-tier priest, and he realized that he couldn’t handle this alone.
"We need to hurry and help. I can’t continue ," he called to Tiger King. Updates are released by 𝗇𝗈𝗏𝖾𝗅•𝖿𝗂𝗋𝖾•𝗇𝖾𝗍
Tiger King nodded slightly and with a wave of his hand, the Magic Array lit up, sending ancient tigers charging forward.
These tigers were not your average beasts; they were powerful Magical Beasts. With the application of Additional Magic, the combined power of these tigers saw an immediate boost.
The tigers collided with the black warriors, whose weaker power was no match for them. Though the magic-enhanced warriors were strong, they were not undead and would succumb to fatal wounds.
Third Elder narrowed his eyes and stomped his foot. Energy swirled around him, forming the shape of a large skull. As the skull soared through the air, following an eerie arc, the enemy had no chance to evade. The skull hit a tiger and extinguished it in an instant.
Tiger King grunted, his face slightly pale. A surprsed Ghost King inquired, "What’s wrong? Can’t be a summoner being affected by the death of their summoned creature, right?" Such a type of summoning did exist, but few chose to learn it.
Tiger King shook his head, "Be careful. That sort of attack can hurt the caster through the summoned creature. It’s a soul attack."
Upon hearing this, Ghost King’s face hardened. The worst sort of attack for summoners like them was one that could harm the summoner through their summoned creatures. Soul attacks were not easy to counter.
Before they could finalize their strategy, another attack was launched from their side. Fireballs began raining down, causing explosions upon impact and sending black warriors flying.
"The others are here. Now things are getting interesting!" Ghost King sighed in relief. He’d initially been worried about others stealing their glory, but now the more people, the merrier, as he figured they could help shoulder some of the dangers.
But in the next moment, countless white lights ascended from the ground, unexpectedly blocking the fireballs. Blocked by the white light, the fireballs didn’t explode. Instead, they just disintegrated.
"Are you alright? They seem to have magic that can dismiss nearby elements."
As a Blazing Flame Mage, Wang Cunfeng used the Fire Element. But when his fire element got dispelled, his magic became less effective.
Li Mingyuan nodded slightly, the Magic Array under his feet now fully glowing, "Don’t worry. My Dissolving Spell is ready. It’s stronger now and will give them a taste of their own medicine."
As he said this, a circle appeared, enveloping the priest who activated the magic to block the fireballs as well as the people around him. In an instant, all of them started to melt.
The priest let out a furious roar, a force erupting from his being, shattering the Dissolving Spell. But by the time he finished, everyone else trapped in the spell had melted away, and he was left with two missing legs and an arm, rendering him incapable of further combat.
Experiencing such a bizarre attack for the first time, the Third Elder started formulating countermeasures. But before he could react, the same circular spell appeared at his feet.
Feeling his body starting to melt, the Third Elder’s face paled. He didn’t have an efficient defensive method, so he chose to attack. Gathering all his strength, he smashed his Magic Staff onto the ground.
A giant skeletal figure formed instantly and struck down towards the ground. A scream echoed through the air as the Third Elder lay on the ground, both legs gone and his body riddled with injuries, seriously wounded.
Meanwhile, a simultaneous scream rang out from the other side, and Li Mingyuan sat on the ground pale-faced, his hands on his head, his body shaking continuously. The Magic Array below his feet had shattered completely.
Ghost King, however, laughed, "Well done! Attack!" With the Third Elder fallen, the magic on the royal guards began to disperse, making them no match for his zombie legion.
At that moment, Li Xian and Dian Hao emerged from the forest, their faces dazed as they took in the scene before them.
