Chapter 281: Chapter 281
Finding a deserted hollow in the mountain, Du You immediately submitted his main task. The next moment, he disappeared in a burst of light - leaving nothing behind as if it had always been at peace.
As a noble who had already left White Stone City, no one would specifically investigate where he had gone.
With a flash of light, Du You returned to his room. He rapidly scanned his surroundings to find that everything was as it had been before he left, with no traps triggered. That made sense, since he had already left his home to stay out - if he was still easily found, that would certainly be strange.
"Yalan continent time, fifty-eight days; Earth time, fifty-eight hours and two minutes."
The smile on Du You’s face suddenly froze: "Two extra minutes? What does that mean? Why are there two extra minutes?"
"Insufficient data to investigate, this could be the original time ratio."
The original time ratio? Du You squinted, considering the possibility. After all, when he first went to the Yalan continent, he got there using a random method with his only crystal coin at the time.
He hadn’t brought a watch with him at the time, so he never made an accurate record of the other world’s time. He roughly gauged it, working out a rough ratio of one hour being equivalent to one day.
If the time was two minutes more in close to two months, it seemed that he would not be able to detect it himself.
The change might have been due to the original ratio or an alteration. If there was indeed a change, what could be the circumstance? Unfortunately, there was no corresponding information in the first layer of the Magic Network.
It seems that he has no way of finding it now. Maybe it would be clearer when he goes to university in the future.
Feeling the powerful law forces wrapped around him, Du You just gave a bitter smile. It seemed that he wouldn’t be able to visit another world before the college entrance examination.
By the time the law aura on his body had completely dissipated, there would only be a few days until the examination.
Checking his timepiece, he contacted others finding them all busy, with no one responding. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡⁂𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢⁂𝘯𝘦𝘵
Looking at the ceiling, Du You got up and started to tidy up his stuff. He was idle anyway, and he had rested enough in the Yalan world, his excitement at coming back hadn’t subsided yet.
After a quick check, Du You left his home and activated his disguise again. He randomly flagged down an autonomous car and headed for the city center.
"It’s a pity, there are so many treasures, and the major auction has just ended here. Some items won’t be sold at a good price. Guess I’ll deal with some regular items first."
As Du You wandered around, he sold off some of the regular items he’d collected. Among the white-quality items, those of high quality were kept in reserve to be sold at the auction later. Although the main auctions were over, the auction houses were still purchasing goods daily. By the end of his trip, Du You almost completely cleared out his personal space.
Having a clean personal space felt a lot more refreshing. After restocking some medicine, especially the antidote he used up this time, Du You headed to the auction house, tidying up his stuff again.
"May I help you, sir?" The elf attendant still had a sweet smile on her face.
Du You gave a small nod: "I have some items to handle. If they can be exchanged, that would be great. Could I please have a look at your exchange list?" Almost everyone who comes here starts by looking at the exchange list.
The attendant handed Du You a list, and he sat to one side and read through it quietly.
There were others seated in the same area, waiting to start trading. Du You wasn’t the only one there.
"Wow, there’s a high purchase for Griffin eggs, didn’t expect the price to be so high," Du You said, looking at a purchase list, eyes gleaming. It’s too bad that the items being offered in exchange were of no use to him.
It seemed he had slightly underestimated the value of the Griffin egg. He originally thought that with an upper limit of a Level 30 pet, the price wouldn’t be too outrageous. But it seemed he was wrong. "It doesn’t matter though. I never planned on selling the Griffin egg. As a gift, it’ll be much more valuable than its sale price."
Du You was not being greedy, he genuinely had too many Crystal Coins. Whether it were white crystal coins or red crystal coins or any that were used for trading, there were so many that he couldn’t spend them all. The truly useful items weren’t easily obtainable.
So even if he had many valuable items, as long as they didn’t take up too much space, Du You did not want to sell them off casually. Like the Griffin egg, he planned to keep it as a gift since it wouldn’t spoil or go bad.
A red sword, a common light red dagger, and other light red items, even though they were light red, their prices were not anywhere near what Du You had imagined, neither were they necessary items. After all, these weapons were rated at the bottom tier amongst hunters at this level. Not everything had to be popular to be of a high level.
From his experiences, Du You had concluded that within each level, the more advanced the item, the more it was welcomed. It seemed to be a common rule that went back to base once a level is upgraded.
As such, these common light red items weren’t items that Du You desired to keep, and he decided he might as well sell them.
The auction house may not offer the best prices for these common goods, but Du You didn’t want to spend more time shopping them around. Comparatively, his time was much more valuable than these little items.
"What is this? An exchange for a special skill, requiring a fusion type Dou Qi skill. His skill is a universal summoner skill, Soul Communication, what does this mean?"
Du You read the rough introduction of this skill, his eyes slowly lighting up. This was another non-upgradable special skill. It was a universal summoner skill, something that would have been snapped up long ago if it appeared in big cities.
But in this small city, the requirement was for a unique fusion type Dou Qi skill, which was not easy. After all, even ordinary Dou Qi skills were not easy to obtain in this small city.
Thinking this, Du You immediately called the attendant over, asking her to contact the person.
"I have a fusion type Dou Qi Crystal (Quicksand) - a fusion of Wind Attribute and Earth Attribute Dou Qi. It’s most suited for attack, also quite strong for defense. It’s less effective when it comes to defending against magical attacks. Let’s see if we could exchange."
The person on the other side hesitated for a bit, seemingly weighing the pros and cons. After a long while, he looked up and said, "Wait for me. I’ll be right there." Then, he cut off the communication. Du You smiled, then continued examining the list.
