Chapter 185: Chapter 185

"Flying kites does come in handy, no matter where you are."

As he stepped back, Du You murmured to himself. These attacks, direct and simplistic, whether coming from creatures with no special abilities or those with unused ones, were no different from those of video-game monsters.

Backing off, Du You doused the Giant Beast in some mucus while igniting previous flames. Occasionally, he would unleash a Fire Snake Curse, exploding it once it reached full power.

After luring the Giant Dog backwards about 200 yards, the beast finally collapsed from exhaustion.

Its huge body fell to the ground, resulting in a tremor so strong it knocked down three trees nearby.

Whether it was his imagination or not, Du You thought he saw a hint of relief in the fallen Giant Dog’s eyes. But with its eyes quickly closing and being in its last moments of life, Du You could no longer tell.

And right now, Du You didn’t have time to analyze all that. With his advantageous terrain now lost, a horde of Giant Dogs was flooding towards him from the front. Luckily enough, although the terrain no longer restrained them, these creatures just clumped themselves together anyway.

Without any hesitation, Du You used a Mucus Swamp combined with fire to start burning these Giant Dogs.

He didn’t know how long he had been busy, but by the time the skies had turned dark, Du You had finally eliminated the last Giant Dog that had been chasing him.

He knew it was the last one because all these Giant Dogs were controlled to come here, hence there were no strays. It made things easier — he didn’t have to go all over the place looking to deal with every single monster.

"I can’t wait any longer, who knows what could happen if too much time passes."

Du You pulled out a Spiritual Recovery Potion and a Physical Recovery Potion, downing them in one gulp, he also administered several to Xiaozi.

"Such a shame that I couldn’t buy any Magic Power Recovery Potions, it would be great if I did."

After all the exertion, Du You realized that he only had 21% of his Magic Power left, and this was only because he initially had a large amount of Magic Power. If not, he would have exhausted all of it by now.

But he had no choice; without Magic Power Recovery Potions, Du You could only rely on the Spiritual Recovery Potion and his basic Magic Power to continuously recharge his own Magic Power. Up ahead would be the final battle.

He didn’t want to get capsized just when he was about to reach the shore. Looking at the largest of the dead Giant Dogs, Du You sighed in spite of himself.

This was a Canine Type Giant Beast that still remained at the second tier. If he himself was not on a special mission, he would have gotten Red Crystal Coins after killing it. As an Awakener, obtaining Red Crystal Coins, which are typically only obtained by Hunters, was quite a feat.

This creature could have appeared any time earlier or later, but it had to appear right now, such a waste.

If this beast had appeared when he had reached the peak of level 10, he could have advanced to the Hunter level right now. What a pity, killing it didn’t count for anything before reaching the necessary level.

There was nothing of value left on this Giant Dog, probably due to its substantial consumption. After a quick cleanup, Du You, with Xiaozi at his side, began the trek up the hill. That’s right, they were walking, not flying.

Du You hoped to replenish some of his Magic Power during this trek.

By the time he reached the top of the hill, Du You found that his Magic Power had recovered to 48%.

"Not even half yet? But that’s okay, my Magic Power volume is large, even if it’s only half, it’s still more than 150% of most Magic-class Professionals at the same level. It should be enough for any fight that’s not too fierce."

That he could recover this quickly was thanks to his exclusive Origin Stone equipment, which doubled the speed of Magic Power recovery. Otherwise, even with level 4 basic Magic Power, it would have been impossible to recover this fast.

After surveying the area from on top of the mountain, Du You’s gaze finally landed on a cave. The top of the mountain was bare, devoid of everything except for the ominous gray Heavenly Disaster cloud hanging in the sky.

However, because the Heavenly Disaster cloud had not yet taken shape, it had no effect on Du You.

There was only one cave here, so there could be no other places to hide things. A yet to hatch Heavenly Disaster Beast should be fairly large itself. If it was outside, it wouldn’t have been possible for him not to see it.

Anticipating this, Du You cautiously approached the cave, with Xiaozi and the Cursed King Crow leading the way. Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵✶𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮✶𝓷𝓮𝓽

Since the Cursed Crow King had no consciousness, it didn’t matter if it were to die; it would just revive after a day. Against a Heavenly Disaster Beast, even an incomplete one, the Cursed Crow King’s curse would have no effect.

With this cavalier attitude, if the Cursed Crow King did have consciousness, he’d probably be cursing Du You out.

The Cursed Crow King flew obediently into the cave. After several successful rounds, Du You finally let out a sigh of relief.

They quietly entered the cave. The mouth of the cave was rather narrow but it became larger as they moved deeper. When Du You had fully entered the cave, he noticed an unexpectedly large cavern.

"Seems like all creatures that like to hide in caves love these caverns."

Muttering to himself, Du You turned the last corner and finally spotted something different.

A massive red ball, pulsing slowly like a heart. Each pulse released a considerable amount of red mist. It resembled the remains of those dead Giant Dogs.

And on this red ball, the name of this creature was listed.

Heavenly Disaster Demonic Dogs: Evolving

"This is the Heavenly Disaster Beast? It has no level, looks , and has no guards? Wait, don’t tell me those Bald Dogs were the guards? Honestly, it’s quite audacious not to have any protective measures at all."

While murmuring to himself, Du You deployed a Curse Aura using the Cursed King Crow, regardless of whether it would work or not, he had to try.

"With so much dog hair on the ground, I hope this creature didn’t lose its fur too? Is it possible that this one’s shedding and that’s why those Bald Dogs are losing their fur too?" Du You thought maliciously.

Just as he was thinking this, a Thunder Light Orb suddenly hit the red ball. To Du You’s surprise, the red ball merely vibrated a little — only its surface vibrated, and there were no other changes.

"You’ve got to be kidding me. I came all this way, braved so many dangers, finally reached you, and you’re telling me you’re impervious?" Du You’s eyes widened in disbelief. The defense of this thing wasn’t going to be the same as that of the turtle, was it?

Even if it were weaker, there would be nothing he could do about it. The turtle at least had a mouth that was a weak point, but this thing was perfectly spherical without any weaknesses at all.
