Chapter 1556: Chapter 1556
The attack patterns of Brave Eagle’s Arrow have been increased to three types: Penetration, Piercing, and Explosion.
At first glance, it was hard to grasp their exact meanings. Du You had Lin Yucha use them several times and gradually understood the differences between each mode. Before the attack reaches the target, Lin Yucha could adjust the mode.
The explosive power remains the same. As for Penetration, it adheres to the literal meaning—directly penetrating the target and leaving a hole in the middle. This move is highly effective against targets with incredibly strong defenses.
Piercing, though similar to Penetration, isn’t entirely the same. In Piercing mode, the arrow does directly puncture the target—this part is similar. However, instead of continuing past the target to attack the rear area, the arrow remains embedded within the target.
The remaining strength of the arrow then completely detonates, spreading out from the wound to create a secondary attack on the target. This makes Piercing the most effective move for dealing with individual targets.
The final mode is Explosion, and this Explosion is not an ordinary one—it actually resembles a bomb detonating.
After hitting the target, its penetration ability isn’t strong, but it detonates entirely like a bomb. The explosive radius can cause significant damage over a large area, making it extremely effective against enemies who are weak but numerous. It also has outstanding efficacy against technological-type enemies.
After examining Lin Yucha’s advancement, it was time for Lin Yushi, the younger sister, to advance.
Lin Yushi’s chosen direction was quite similar, focusing primarily on space manipulation abilities.
Two skills, Space Arrow and Soul Spikes, were upgraded first—one for survival and special attacks, the other for direct spiritual damage. Following this, the choices started afresh: Demon-breaking Scattering, Swallowing Demon Vine, and Thunder Dragon Arrow.
In any case, since the necessary skills had been advanced, there were no major weaknesses to address. For them, starting over with a new skill choice was fine, as long as they had enough Law Crystals.
Space Arrow: Condenses spatial energy into coordinates attached to arrows or directly forms spatial arrows, allowing Instantaneous Movement using the coordinates. Cooldown: 0.1 seconds; Maximum movement distance: 100 kilometers; Maximum coordinate count: level × 5; Coordinate duration: 10 days. Detonating the coordinates causes localized small-scale spatial rifts, with multiple detonations stacking rift damage to form spatial storms. (Level 61, 9 Stars)
Space Arrow was examined first as it originally evolved from Lin Yushi’s Spatial Spirit skill.
However, at present, the two skills have become quite distinct. Space Arrow leverages fixed coordinates for movement, unlike Spatial Spirit’s freely movable coordinates. Once coordinates are set, their positions remain static.
Previously, coordinates could only be attached to arrows. Now, spatial arrows can be directly condensed. These spatial arrows are almost undetectable and can move freely within space—lacking aggression but far stealthier with faster speeds.
The cooldown time, movement distance, and coordinate count are identical to those of Lin Yucha.
Performance depends solely on individual skill. The maximum coordinate duration has increased to ten days but offers little practical use. According to Du You, this skill is generally for combat purposes.
Having them stay within a 100-kilometer range for ten whole days during battle is practically impossible.
Thus, this change is more aesthetic than functional.
Finally, the detonation of coordinates has introduced stacked attack capabilities. Stacking damage causes the power to increase layer by layer, ultimately triggering a spatial storm. With Lin Yushi’s power, the spatial storm would still leave even other Tier 7 experts suffering immensely.
Soul Spikes: Uses Soul Law to condense an arrow that penetrates the enemy’s soul. A Soul Seed absorbs the opponent’s soul energy for growth until the enemy’s soul dissipates or they are turned into the user’s puppet. Soul Seed can also be detonated, causing massive damage to the enemy’s soul but preventing them from being turned into a puppet. (Level 61, 9 Stars)
The second skill upgraded was Soul Spikes, and its changes were substantial. The original ability, powered by Spiritual Power, shifted to using Soul Law, greatly enhancing its potency—even capable of harming divine spirits.
Every aspect of the skill had improved, though there was no target available to test it.
However, the added abilities were remarkable. Originally, this skill functioned almost like a curse, gradually weakening enemies—making it nearly useless in fast-paced combat.
But now, it’s capable of direct attacks, enabling efficient damage even against powerful foes. The drawback is that post-detonation creates soul chaos in the target, generating a unique resistance.
During a period, regardless if the target dies or not, or even if its soul dissipates, it cannot be turned into a puppet. Nonetheless, this isn’t an issue, as Lin Yushi had never turned an enemy into a puppet since this skill emerged.
Regardless of the enemy, Du You and his companions always eliminated them outright without resorting to tricks.
Considering their current strength, they have even less need for such minor tactics.
Demon-breaking Scattering: Condenses arrows using personal strength to form Arrow Shadows, number = (level × 100). Scattered arrows decrease in power. Arrow Shadows slightly adjust trajectories to improve accuracy. Each Arrow Shadow hits and produces secondary splitting attacks. Skill deals 30% additional damage to Evil Creatures. (Level 61, 9 Stars)
Changes to Demon-breaking Scattering were minimal, appearing almost unchanged, except for an increase in the number of arrows.
The current Demon-breaking Scattering matches the maximum number of arrows in Du You’s Dark Flame Arrow Array, though for the same level, reaching peak-tier would be required to compete in arrow numbers.
Fortunately, Demon-breaking Scattering excels in quantity, ideal for group battles. Its individual arrow power remains far below Du You’s Dark Flame Arrow Array, offering him some consolation. He may not be an Archer, but his star level is higher.
Other features remained the same overall, except that secondary arrow fragments increased in quantity and flight speed. Law-based attack enhancements also made it immensely effective against Divine Creatures.
It might not significantly threaten Tier-7 opponents, but when facing the hordes of cannon fodder summoned by Tier-7 entities—like Lin Yushi’s summons—it delivers potent results, making it unafraid of large numbers.
The bonus 30% damage against Evil Creatures remained unchanged in the description.
