Chapter 1553: Chapter 1553
Next is the Energy Gathering Magic Cannon. Although this isn’t my most powerful skill, it is the strongest among fast-attack skills. The only skill surpassing it is the Destruction Flames.
Destruction Flames is rather unique, requiring too much time for progression, and Du You doesn’t urgently need it.
Therefore, among the skills being upgraded this time, Du You didn’t prioritize it. As skill progression continues, Du You has gradually realized that the Law Crystals he once thought were abundant seem far less plentiful than expected.
Energy Gathering Magic Cannon: Releases five layers of Energy Gathering Rings to condense Dark Yuan Power and laws. Casting time ranges from 0 to 5 seconds, forming a powerful strike forward with Dark Yuan Power. Deals 30% more damage to Light Attribute creatures. (Level 61, 10 stars)
Simple and brutal, Energy Gathering Magic Cannon has always been straightforward in its style. The Energy Gathering Rings have increased from three layers to five, greatly enhancing its power. This skill is much stronger than the Dark Flame Arrow Array I crafted.
Moreover, its speed is faster too. At the shortest, it requires no time and can be instantly cast, yet its power remains remarkably significant.
The simple result is brute force destruction and penetration. Think about the last encounter with the Three-headed Gold Dragon—if this skill had been upgraded at that time, the opponent would have definitely been injured. As for hunting down that Golden Dragon, it might not have been easy.
Because that creature was incredibly fast, and my skill’s casting time too long. Without methods to restrict the target, chances of hitting it were slim. At Tier Seven, speed is never truly slow anymore.
While upgrading the new skills, the Summoned Beast that had been continuously absorbing my Law Crystals finally evolved and ascended.
Unlike my other skills, Summoned Beasts, being inherently strong, are much more troublesome to progress. This explains why Du You found his Law Crystals insufficient; they’ve all been absorbed by these Summoned Beasts.
Thankfully, the absorption isn’t without results. Each upgrade brings a Tier Seven helper along, effectively providing two upgraded beings at once this time.
The first upgraded beast turned out to be the unassuming Ghost Pattern Crow. Speaking of which, since Xiaozi, this was actually my very first Summoned Beast and the only one in the team with curse-based powers.
The second upgrade was my Death Gorilla, an incredibly strong tank-type creature.
Du You first examined the changes in the Ghost Pattern Crow, directly opening the status panel.
Ghost Pattern Crow: Formed by the fusion of the Cursed Crow King and the Ghost Stripe Butterfly. Mysterious and eerie, born with lethal curses. A curse-based creature shaped by Dark Yuan Power. Upon death, it takes 24 hours to re-summon. (Level 61, 10 stars)
Curse Divine Power: 100%
Skills: Weakening Aura, Song of Misfortune, Bloodthirsty Feather Arrow, Evil Protection, Soul Snatching Eyes, Rotten Curse, Plague, Ghost Shadow, Curse Absorption, Exhaustion Curse
Weakening Aura: Weakens all enemies within the curse range, reducing various attributes. Range: 10,000+ (level * 1,000) kilometers.
Song of Misfortune: The Ghost Pattern Crow chants a cursed song, causing misfortune to all who hear it.
Bloodthirsty Feather Arrow: Condenses Curse Divine Power into feather-like arrows. Targets hit will suffer the Bleeding Curse.
Evil Protection: Evil Curse Divine Power envelops the Ghost Pattern Crow, greatly enhancing resistance to magic and laws.
Soul Snatching Eyes: A death-inducing skill. Targets stared down by Soul Snatching Eyes have a chance of soul separation causing instant death. Failure triggers backlash, with a chance of killing the caster. Cooldown time: 5 hours.
Rotten Curse: Unleashes a Rotten Curse over an area, causing creatures within it to experience gradual decay of flesh.
Plague: Creatures approaching the Ghost Pattern Crow contract plague, broadly weakening their basic attributes.
Ghost Shadow: The physical form of the Ghost Pattern Crow is hidden among layers of ghostly shadows, making it extremely challenging to hit, particularly against physical attacks.
Curse Absorption: Absorbs the curse power of enemies to restore itself, while removing curses from allies.
Exhaustion Curse: Specifically targets an enemy’s skill with a curse that weakens it. The more the skill is used, the weaker the effect becomes, up to a maximum reduction of 50% efficiency.
Each Summoned Beast upgrade is a full-scale evolution, not the simple transformation of a single skill like my own. Observing them requires examining all aspects.
Take the Ghost Pattern Crow for example; its description has changed entirely. Now, it’s formed by curses condensed through Dark Yuan Power, which means its composition has evolved from dark elements into higher-level curse strength and curse laws.
Among all the Summoned Beasts, the Cursed Crow stands out as a unique existence.
Magic Power transformed into Curse Divine Power, designed specifically for unleashing curse-based abilities.
The skills have also changed noticeably. Weakening Aura’s effect is greatly amplified, with enemies below Tier Seven being completely subdued. The range, however, is the most terrifying change—by current estimates, it now spans 71,000 kilometers.
While this distance might not seem vast under the starry sky, in the context of battle, virtually no enemy can escape the curse’s reach. After all, at far distances, combat becomes ineffective, and enemies have a higher chance of fleeing.
Song of Misfortune and Bloodthirsty Feather Arrow didn’t change much, only scaled proportionally in effectiveness. Evil Protection enhanced law resistance, making the Cursed Crow even harder to kill. Soul Snatching Eyes remains the same.
Its specific effects will need further testing, since instant-death type skills are always unpredictable.
This skill, however, is rarely used by Du You. The Cursed Crow itself is too weak, and Du You’s own strength too great. If faced with manageable enemies, Du You can kill them easily; if faced with tough opponents, this skill is practically useless.
A potentially powerful skill has essentially turned into a gimmick in Du You’s hands.
Rotten Curse, Plague, and Ghost Shadow didn’t undergo visible changes in their descriptions, only proportional enhancements in effect. Nonetheless, the Cursed Crow remains an auxiliary-type Summoned Beast.
The two newly added skills, however, leave Du You a bit uncertain about their significance. Fresh chapters posted on 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭•𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢•𝓷𝓮𝓽
Curse Absorption is dedicated to handling curses and can be considered a rare reversal, even showing some beneficial effects. Paired with protective bubbles, Du You no longer needs to fear curses in the future.
As for Exhaustion Curse, when used appropriately, it might be a divine-level ability. If the opponent relies heavily on a single powerful skill, exhausting them with this curse could render them severely weakened.
However, Du You is unsure how many opponents post-Tier Seven would face such a predicament. Still, nullifying an opponent’s strongest skill is undoubtedly beneficial. Upon testing, Du You discovered this curse only targets active skills. Passive skills or innate talents are unaffected.
