Chapter 1364: Chapter 1364
This world is even more dangerous than the one with seventh-tier powerhouses we have seen before. The Undead World that the academy tried to control previously had seventh-tier powerhouses, but not many, and later, they were brought under control.
The Tangled Undead World I entered has many seventh-tier powerhouses. Everyone has their own territory and wouldn’t normally venture out recklessly, so relatively speaking, it was safer for me.
But this world is different; both sides are invaders, and the native world is powerless to resist. Encounters with seventh-tier powerhouses could happen at any time during the great tumult.
"Master, should we continue to move forward?" Lin Yucha asked hesitantly.
"Let’s go. Judging from the situation just now, the enemy’s seventh-tier powerhouses have left, and we have the advantage. Even if we can’t kill the opponent, this battle won’t end anytime soon, so it’s fine for us to enter for a few days. There definitely won’t be any seventh-tier left in front, and there might be quite a few sixth-tier, but it’s no problem as long as they’re not too strong."
Du You wasn’t yet a match for the exceedingly strong sixth-tier, but he had the Ghost Dragon Knight.
Although the Ghost Dragon Knight was his Summoned Creature, it wouldn’t benefit from killing its master, which might make things safer for Du You. As long as he ensured that those sixth-tier powerhouses died by his hand, he could still gain some Crystal Coins.
So, Du You gritted his teeth and proceeded forward with the two sisters, leaving the vast army behind and going deep into enemy territory alone. Well, not exactly alone, as he was accompanied by many of his Summoned Creatures.
However, as they penetrated deeper, a figure clad in pitch-black emerged in front of them. Yes, just one person, walking through the air with an extremely powerful aura, likely in the late stages of the sixth tier.
"Good, I knew it. Someone attacked our master, and I was sure that others would come after us."
Du You was startled - this guy could actually talk. Around him, a group of sixth-tier and fifth-tier Dark Creatures walked out, surrounding them completely. This guy had somehow evaded his perception and encircled him.
"You can talk, but the other members of the Dark Clan can’t. Why is that?" Du You asked, curious, while covertly observing the situation.
"Hah? Dark Clan? Do you even know how noble the Dark Clan is? Those without intelligence are merely Dark Creatures, our slaves. We are the noble Dark Clan."
The guy continued, "I once hated the Dark Clan too, thinking they had invaded our world. But now, I understand how great the Dark Clan is. We are the most noble race."
Du You narrowed his eyes: "Wait, did you just say you originally weren’t part of the Dark Clan, but a native of this world?"
Du You felt like he’d stumbled upon a major secret. He hadn’t gotten this information at the gathering spot earlier; perhaps others knew it, or maybe he just hadn’t noticed it. When arriving in this world, he hadn’t found any books on general knowledge.
What he knew, he had heard from others along the way.
"Don’t you know? Originally, you’re from Earth; you too belong to the most noble race."
"We are also a noble race?"
"Of course, is there anything more noble than evolving from ordinary humans to gods? Once, those Divine Spirits were high above, and we mortals could only look up to them, but we can also become gods. Among the noble Dark Clan, the so-called gods are just a phase. Even I have the chance to become a lofty Divine Spirit."
Du You figured this guy might be a bit off mentally, possibly affected by the dark energy. After all, dark energy can easily sway the mind, especially when it’s chaotic.
But Du You had generally confirmed that many of the Dark Creatures and Dark Clan members here were probably natives.
Du You made some roundabout inquiries, and perhaps because the fellow felt Du You was equally noble, he revealed quite a lot. This confused fellow disclosed a chatty Attribute.
Finally, Du You understood that this world was as he had thought. No, the Dark Clan had arrived even more recently, and Earthlings had entered this world unintentionally. However, since encountering the Dark Clan, the Earthlings could not retreat. They must either conquer the world, severing the connection with the Dark Clan, or pull back, cutting off the link between this world and Earth.
Earth’s heritage wasn’t sufficient, its power inadequate; it wasn’t yet a match for such an ancient race as the Dark Clan.
After entering this world, the Dark Clan began eroding it with their dark energy. Most creatures and people affected would become part of the dark energy and vanish completely.
But some with strong adaptability would complete a transformation into unintelligent Dark Creatures with significantly enhanced power and in a different state – these were the Dark Creatures that Du You had previously killed.
Some who were not only adaptable but also talented would be valued by the upper class of the Dark Clan, who would personally transform them into new members of the Dark Clan with memories of this world, adapted to it. It was unclear, however, whether all these transformed individuals had issues with their minds.
Amongst the many sixth-tier Dark Creatures present, it seemed only this one had its own thoughts. After observing, Du You didn’t detect other hidden members of the Dark Clan nearby, which gave him some relief.
"Are there other Dark Clan members nearby?" Du You didn’t expect an answer but still asked.
"You’re looking for someone else? On the other side of the mountain, there is a group of large lizards; those reptiles actually have two of the Dark Clan. It’s unfair. We were the peak race of this world once, and it’s still the same after the transformation. But one day, I will devour them to enhance my strength."
The man’s eyes lit up as he looked at Du You: "How about it, would you like to join the great Dark Clan? You Professionals can also be transformed, with even greater advantages. I can introduce you to my master."
Du You was repulsed by that gaze, as though the guy had unsavory intentions. "No thanks, I think I’m good as I am." Newest update provıded by 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭·𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮·𝙣𝙚𝙩
"What? You dare refuse me? If you weren’t a dark energy user too, I wouldn’t even bother... Humph, after talking so much, you dare to refuse me. Then go to hell."
The guy made threatening gestures toward Du You, but before he could act, the two sisters who had received Du You’s commands struck first. Of course, their targets were the unintelligent Dark Creatures surrounding them.
