Chapter 1305: Chapter 1305

Time rewound to a few days ago when Du You and his team had just entered the battlefield.

The Undead in the Chaos Lands were overjoyed upon receiving the news. Such a powerful neighbor dared to undertake a death-seeking act. Once they entered the battlefield, communication with the outside world became exceedingly difficult.

Thus, these creatures, sticking to their original plan, rushed toward Du You’s territory one by one. They obviously knew where the core territory was, for it had the most buildings and the highest number of Undead.

Of course, the Lich King wouldn’t allow these fools to cause trouble in this place. It was precisely because Du You had advanced to tier six that the Lich King could venture so far from him; otherwise, he would have been summoned back much earlier.

After reaching tier six, Du You found that his Summoned Beasts could still operate even if they were as far away as several countries from him. This was the most significant change in the aspect of summoning beasts after tier six.

"Have they arrived?" The Lich King lifted his head, looking outside.

Skarow sent the message to these informants, and to the Lich King as well. The ambush here had long been prepared. The Lich King rose to his feet and stepped out, ascending step by step into the sky. These people dared to meddle in his master’s affairs, dared to attack his master’s territory; such crimes were unforgivable. So, they might as well stay here.

Before long, as a horde of invading Undead was about to enter the core territory, they finally saw the Lich King, who had been waiting for them in the sky. Everyone halted abruptly.

"You must be the lord of this territory," said the creature at the front, a mere 1.5 meters tall and peculiar in appearance—a Charm Demon—an ancient and bizarre Undead that existed between life and death, truly eerie.

"Have you come to attack?" the Lich King asked indifferently.

"Your power is too great, too threatening; thus, we ask you to leave. Otherwise, we will have to be unpleasant."

The creature still didn’t want to fight the Lich King because beside him stood a Zombie Dragon. If a real fight broke out, although it would be six against two, the danger wasn’t nonexistent.

Undead might not fear death, but these sentient creatures that had lived for so long clearly did not want to throw their lives away so recklessly. Google seaʀᴄh 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵•𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮•𝓷𝓮𝓽

"You have come to attack!" the Lich King reiterated, but this time his tone was certain.

"Enough babble; he won’t want to leave with the territory developing so well - just kill him and it will all be over," bellowed the most hot-tempered tier-six Zombie, ready to strike at any moment.

"You’re right; since he doesn’t want to leave, let him stay," they said and made their move.

What they didn’t expect was for the Lich King to act even faster, stretching out his hand towards the Charm Demon in front. Finger of Death, a hideous green light struck instantly, leaving no chance to dodge.

For general undead, using Finger of Death is useless, but Charm Demons are different. These undead carry characteristics of the living, making Finger of Death effective against them. Struck by Finger of Death, the formidable power of death erupted immediately. The Charm Demon let out a dreadful scream and fell to the ground. Although it didn’t die, it convulsed continuously.

Its skin twisted and cracked, soon covered in many fissures. At the same time, other undead’s attacks fell on the Lich King, but they were blocked by the Death Qi Shield surrounding him.

Several attacks were intercepted by the Zombie Dragon, whose flesh split and skin flayed open, yet it showed no expression, as if the injuries were not its own. This is the nature of the undead, utterly insensible to pain.

"Damn it, I didn’t expect you to have this trick up your sleeve. Too bad, you cannot kill me and now you’re the one who’s going to die."

The Charm Demon stood up from the ground, now looking like a shrunken, cracked cabbage, grotesquely odd. Yet the green flames burning in its eyes suggested a peak of rage. Overwhelming power surged through its body, and a powerful psychic attack was on the verge of bursting forth.

The Lich King was somewhat disappointed. If this creature had been alive, it would have been undoubtedly killed by that move, as it had failed completely. Alas, it was an undead and thus did not die.

Even so, it was badly injured. They could no longer continue the fight. The previous attack had only been a surprise, and moving forward, even though he might be able to resurrect, the Zombie Dragon would truly be dead, so it wasn’t worth wasting the forces his master had left for him.

With that, the Lich King signaled, and the hidden Ghost Dragons around him took action.

Soul-light fangs shot towards them, and caught off guard by the ambush, these powerful undead could not evade completely. Under the onslaught of the soul-light, the Charm Demon that was the primary target exploded instantly.

Then it was the turn of a less agile zombie, while a Youhun being whose powers were suppressed managed to escape the blow, relying on its speed. Even though it survived, it was also severely injured.

A hundred tier-six Ghost Dragons attacked at once, taking out four of the six elite tier-six adversaries on the spot, leaving only the Youhun and a skeleton that was further away. At this moment, a part of the undead they had brought along revolted. There was no choice, as many of these undead had been sold to them by the Lich King on Du You’s orders.

Even though they were branded, this brand was clearly of a lower level than the dominion control. Hence, the revolt was immediate and the ranks were thrown into disarray. But even without the chaos, without their top fighters, they were useless.

"Don’t kill me, I can submit," said the suppressed Youhun loudly, feeling the oppressive forces around it.

Unfortunately for him, the Lich King had received orders from Du You to eliminate them all, with no intention of sparing any. Tier-six beings were too dangerous and uncontrollable. If they revealed anything, it would be troublesome.

For safety’s sake, even at the expense of some waste, they had to be exterminated. The Ghost Dragons prepared for a second wave of attacks and did not hesitate to unleash it. The two undead, who had stopped defending in order to show their sincerity, now had no chance to escape. Under the endless barrage of soul-light fangs, the two undead were blown apart on the spot, leaving only fragmented pieces scattered on the ground.

The pitiful tier-six undead had died without a chance to demonstrate their strength.

Throughout the process, it was the soul attacks from the Ghost Dragons that had the effect. These attacks were not very destructive to the material world, so there were hardly any traces left on the ground. Since the buildings behind them ranged from tier-five to tier-six, their integrity was incredibly high.

From such a distance, the residual effects didn’t have the strength to damage the structures of the dominion. Without the tier-six fighters, the remaining undead were of no significance, and were quickly controlled by the Lich King, who locked them in a temporary prison.
