Chapter 1066: Chapter 1066
It never occurred to Du You that as a latecomer he would surpass everyone else. After this advancement, he realized he had subconsciously mastered all the skills associated with being a Dark Soul Sorcerer, and for the time being, could not find any new skills to advance.
Similarly, the skills under the Dark Soul Constructor class only had Moon God’s Blessing left to advance. The two sisters had not found skills suitable for themselves during this time, and he had instead caught up to them.
Originally, Du You thought it would take him a long time to reach this point.
"It seems I must quickly advance to the fifth tier." Since there were no more advancements possible, Du You would no longer suppress his own growth out of concern for others’ opinions. It wouldn’t be a problem to progress further. Once he broke through to the fifth tier, Du You believed that he would definitely not be a weakling among his peers.
At that time, his strength would surely be enough to protect himself.
In the following days, Du You paid attention to the development of his territory while searching for a new world suitable for himself. Due to the establishment of his company, Du You already possessed many world coordinates, but finding the right one for himself was not easy.
It was on this day that the Academy suddenly issued a notice.
"The Academy has discovered a new large world, the Death Continent, and is now recruiting all students to enter. This world is mainly populated by Undead Creatures, and upon entering, one joins the human faction. Entry is forbidden for anyone below the second tier."
"The Academy has actually released an exploration mission, what do you think about this world?" Du You suddenly asked the two sisters.
The two exchanged glances, and then Lin Yucha spoke, "Master, it’s fine for you to decide."
Shaliya, who was beside her, also looked up and said, "This world sounds quite good. Yucha and Yu Shi are especially capable of restraining evil creatures, they can keep up with your pace when dealing with such beings."
Although the strength of the two sisters was not bad, it would take both of them together to compare with Du You at present—and they might even be somewhat weaker. There was no helping it; Du You’s talent was too high, and the gap would only grow as his strength increased.
Advancement tasks were very important, and the combat power of the two sisters was a crucial supplement. In dealing with evil creatures, the sisters were different; with their strong restraining capabilities against evil beings, each one of the sisters could be just as strong as Du You by themselves, and in some respects, they might even perform better.
This was the power of a class that could restrain a specific type of enemy. Of course, it was only against that particular type.
"Academy-issued missions reward more for gathering extensive intelligence. Though we are not concerned about the reward, this world might indeed be suitable for us," Du You mused as he perused some of the Academy’s disclosed information.
"This world is sparsely populated due to most of the wilderness being overrun by Undead Creatures. Not many explorers venture here, making it unlikely to encounter others. Hence, in this world, I can summon freely without worrying about being discovered."
Ultimately, Du You decided; this world was indeed very appealing. "Alright, then let’s choose this world."
Once Du You had made his decision, he began to thoroughly review all the information about the world.
This Undead World was confirmed by the Academy to be at least sixth tier or higher, an Otherworld, and quite possibly could be seventh tier or even higher. These levels had not been completely explored yet, so it was uncertain.
The world’s background was simple; due to the special Laws of the world, whenever any creature died, it would, after some time, be transformed into an Undead. For this reason, there was an abundance of Undead Creatures in this world.
In the early days, humans would carry their dead far away for burial. However, as the number of deceased increased, the entire world began to resemble an Undead World. The distant areas became extremely dangerous.
There was, however, something special; within the world lay a unique gem, the Soul Soothing Gem. Undead Creatures would not approach the places where these gems were placed. Even if they accidentally came close, they would not attack other beings. Once removed from the gem’s protective range, however, these Undead Creatures would become very aggressive.
With the power of these gems, humans established numerous settlements, enabling them to thrive.
Similarly, there were some people in this world who envied the power of the Undead and gradually took to the path of controlling them. Du You knew that these were a branch of the Undead Mages.
However, the path these people took was somewhat astray. According to the information provided by the Academy, perhaps due to the prevalence of Undead Creatures in this world, these individuals focused solely on Magic that could control the Undead. Out in the wilderness, they were able to control vast numbers of Undead Creatures, forming their own factions, and some even managed to establish their own cities in the outside world, protecting many ordinary people.
These individuals, without the need for gems, were able to fend off the attacks of the Undead.
They once became the most powerful and envied people in this world. But later on, at some undefined time, some individuals mastered the power of Holy Light, and the circumstances began to change.
The power of Holy Light was noticeably easier for people to accept. Then organizations similar to the Holy See emerged, though these organizations were not unified in that world and each region had its own churches and lineages.
Just like in most worlds, the forces of light and dark are always opposed to each other, and they have a very poor relationship.
Eventually, at some unknown time, a great war broke out between the two forces. Ultimately, the Holy Light Power took over the main human habitats, and the Undead Mages left the human settlements to move outward. Thᴇ link to the origɪn of this information rᴇsts ɪn 𝗇𝗈𝗏𝖾𝗅✦𝖿𝗂𝗋𝖾✦𝗇𝖾𝗍
Some still protected ordinary people, while others spent their days amongst the Undead Creatures.
The Death Continent is now in such a state. According to the Academy’s tests, entities of the sixth tier sent by the Academy Faction could still function normally in that world. But the seventh tier was not something that just anyone could command.
Without the possibility for further testing, the Academy could only speculate that the world was above the sixth tier. What followed was the exploration of the entire world. Almost every year, the Academy discovers some worlds, but large high-tier worlds one are rare, sometimes not encountered for several years. In such worlds, one could benefit greatly.
For example, materials for advancement were produced in large quantities in such worlds. Moreover, the rewards from the Academy for exploring worlds were definitely substantial. Du You was not concerned with these but was more interested in the suitability of the world for himself and the absence of competition.
Completing the advancement tasks in such a world would be the most ideal.
