Chapter 1041: Chapter 1041
"We’re under attack, No. 6 Base is under attack, requesting support."
The alarm blared in a loop, and inside a massive base, a giant gorilla was wreaking havoc everywhere. This gorilla wasn’t particularly large, standing only a bit over three meters tall, and was even smaller than most of the war machines.
But this gorilla was indestructible; attacks from various weapons seemed to just tickle it, and it paid no mind to them at all. Check latest chapters at 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝•𝖿𝗂𝗋𝖾•𝘯𝘦𝘵
The gorilla’s every attack released a powerful shockwave, shattering even the toughest of ground combat tanks with a single blow. Buildings that were supposed to be structurally strong disintegrated after just one hit, leaving nothing behind.
Surrounding weapons and mechs were futile against it. What’s more, this seemingly slow gorilla had the ability to move instantaneously, always disappearing and then reappearing in another location, each strike devastatingly effective.
Yet, just as the base issued a request for support, it received news of other bases under attack. Chaos spread everywhere, and requests for support were incessantly sent out.
Not far away, in a special creature base, a swarm of Bloody War Dogs and Giant Bees took to the sky, along with various other types of biological weapons. However, these creatures were now utterly unable to come out and fight.
In the sky, a strange crow flapped its wings leisurely, casting out a swath of halos, drastically weakening the combative capabilities of these fighting units. The weaker ones even lay prostrate on the ground, immobile.
Then, out of nowhere, a multitude of feathers appeared, raining down from the sky. The flesh and blood mechs still capable of flying were instantly pierced by these feathers. Though the wounds weren’t fatal, they kept bleeding.
These flesh and blood mechs, a hybrid of mechanical and biological power, relied primarily on flesh; the machinery was merely auxiliary. As a large amount of blood was lost, the flesh and blood mechs quickly depleted of energy and fell from the sky.
The Ghost Pattern Crow, seeing that no enemies posed a threat any longer, spread its wings wide and a dense grey breath spread out. Then, it flew away. Shortly after its departure, rather than recovering, all the biological weapons grew even weaker. The disease brought by the Ghost Pattern Crow had turned these biological weapons into weaklings, sick with a virus that could kill them directly, and for which there was no cure.
Perhaps this was the first time these biological weapons had ever felt what it was like to be sick since their creation. And this virus could even lead to their direct demise, with no available treatment.
If it were not for the fact that the disease-carrying ability of the Ghost Pattern Crow couldn’t spread on a large scale, this single creature could have posed a huge threat to the Bloody Empire, targeting precisely these kinds of bases as it flew from one to the next.
At first, the airborne turrets were still able to attack the ground below, aiding in combat. But eventually, the turrets’ fire gradually ceased. Seeing this from beneath, people angrily transmitted signals.
"Air defense ring, what’s going on with you, why is there no support fire? If you don’t provide support soon, I’ll take you to military court."
"Requesting ground support, requesting ground support, this is the air defense ring, we have been attacked by an unknown organism."
This was an automated reply to all ground military bases. Many angrily looked up into space, not far above the surface of the asteroid. But as they gazed upward, they were stricken with horror.
For in the sky were not emptiness but points of light that burst into life, like fireworks. Everyone knew, however, that this was not a fireworks show; something in the sky was really being hit.
Even the Command Center was now in disarray, as many branches had been destroyed.
"Show me the aerial view, I want to see for myself what exactly is going on," commanded the leader of a central base, shouting loudly. Soon, he saw the three flying creatures causing chaos.
"Commander, our base is under attack," suddenly, a voice broke in.
The commander looked outside and saw an incredibly large canine-type creature suddenly leap into their base. The surrounding artillery fire attacked relentlessly, but the opponent seemed completely unaffected.
As for those combat creatures, they didn’t even need to be attacked; after getting close, one by one they lay on the ground, looking as if they had dehydrated for a long time, nearly turning into dried corpses.
The massive canine creature destroyed the surrounding buildings with a swipe of its paw.
"God, what in the world is this thing? Could it be that the Star Ring Alliance has also started researching biological weapons?"
Biological weapons have always been their most powerful trademark in the Bloody Empire, and now the Star Ring Alliance producing such formidable biological weapons is simply inconceivable.
But no matter how inconceivable it was, their current situation was not good.
"We’ve done our investigation; this was done by a superpower man under the Star Ring Company. We are confirming his identity."
"What I need now is not the opponent’s identity, I need someone to stop him."
Just at this moment, a message suddenly came from the rear command center, "In three minutes, the Flesh Warship will arrive at the frontline, continue to hold on." The order was simple, but the commander breathed a sigh of relief.
The warship is the most powerful combat force on this small asteroid; if even this fails, then there’s nothing to be done.
Three minutes whisked by, and several more bases were destroyed; the base in front of them was also heavily damaged. In the sky, dark dots finally flew in, those were two warships with a special layer of flesh on their surfaces.
The warships had just arrived, targeting the central Heavenly Disaster Demonic Dog, a red energy cannon gathering for a moment before shooting out directly. The speed of the technological weapon was something ordinary people could not react to.
But after the fire hit the Heavenly Disaster Demonic Dog, it was found that a flash of black light on the creature’s body blocked the attack. The defense capability of the tier-four Dark Spirit Armor, also a defensive skill, was much higher than that of the attack.
"What’s happening here, why didn’t it work?" The commander’s eyes widened, his face filled with disbelief.
For a remote little asteroid , having a tier-four warship would be impressive under normal circumstances. But now, their own warship didn’t even have the qualifications to harm the opponent.
"Try again, the opponent can’t fly, they’re definitely no match for us."
The crew on the warship were also surprised at the scene; when had their energy cannons become so ineffective? Thus, they adjusted the energy cannon, preparing to attack again. However, they didn’t notice that another person had appeared nearby.
Having just received the message of the warship’s arrival, Du You used instantaneous movement to catch up at high speed.
