Chapter 37: Chapter 37

Chapter 37 Jacket

That night, our plan was in motion. Bombs went off, destroying one of the fake safe-houses that belonged to the Revelation Gang. The plan was to get Lars to think he destroyed our gang, so that he will be so oblivious celebrating his victory that he won't expect a comeback.

But that wasn't all.

This plan involved another part in which I wasn't too thrilled about.

"Tonight, we celebrate because we have finally defeated that nuisance of a gang, The Revelation!" Lars announces atop his stage as he whisks a whine glass in the air.

I stand behind him, Luuk's strong hand wrapped around my bicep.

You see, this plan also involved me. I was to be kidnapped by them on purpose. They blew up those safe-houses in their search for me, so, we had to make it look convincing enough.

And I am nervous.

I am in the jaws of a lion.

Luuk twirls a finger around a tendril of my hair and smirks at me. His touch brings nauseous shivers that runs down my spine. "I think it's time for a bit of our celebration, don't you think?" His voice so heavy with lust.

"I'd rather sleep with a pig than sleep with you. Oh, wait, what's the difference?" I spit out.

Luuk doesn't give any warning when suddenly a sharp slap lands across my face.

I gasp, and look down at my feet. The humiliation.....

But I return my gaze to his, and I glare at him.

Luuk grabs my wrists, and crushes them as he drags me along. "Let go of me!" I shriek.

Ripping my hands free from his, I slap his right cheek first. The sound of my hand against his cheek is amazing, and his face whips to the side. Deciding I quite like that sound, I do the same to his left cheek.

The crowd gasps.

I smirk at the humiliation displayed across Luuk's face.

"When I get you to the bedroom, you're going to be fucked. And I mean that both literally and figuratively." Luuk hisses.

"Oh, you want to take me in there just so I can chuck the lamp at your pretty little face again? Tell me, did your ugly face damage your ego?" I say, glaring at him.

"Is there a problem over there?" Asks Lars. He has turned around and is now glaring at us.

"No." Luuk says, his voice cold.

"Very well." Lars raises an eyebrow in suspicion, then turns around to finish his speech.

Taking a deep breath to ease my nerves, I spot my mom among the crowd. She looks sad as she doesn't know the plan that is about to take place.

All is not what it seems.

Lar's speech went on for what felt like hours, until he said words that did catch my attention.

"And now, I excuse my son and his choice of woman to produce an heir for this marvelous organization. As you all know, we need future generations to keep this alive."

Luuk smirks at me, happy he's finally going to get his way. Or so he thinks.

When I'm dragged off to his bedroom, I panic. Ace, where are you? What's taking you so long? Luuk smirks at me as he takes his jacket off, then shrugs his shirt off.

I'm smashed against the wall, watching him with large, frightened eyes as he stalks me like a lion and I, just a young gazelle.

His large body is smashed against mine and his arms are on either side of me head. My bottom lip trembles with fright and I refuse to meet him in the eyes. His warm breath is heavy against my ear and my heart beat is frantic.

"I was thinking of going easy on you, but after that act out there, I'm not so sure." He says, his voice husky and rough.

I place my palms flat against his chest and push. "N-no, don't! Get away from me." I can't get raped again. I can't get raped again!

"This innocent act you're putting on isn't going to save you. I know you want this just as much as I do."

Ace, damn it! Where are you? What's taking you so long?

Luuk smashes his lips against mine and his hands start to crawl up my body. I try to knee him in the groin, but he is prepared and smashes his own knee into my gut harshly. "Behave." He hisses in my ear.

Before I can even blink, he rips my shirt off. "W-wait! I'm on m-my period." I say, in hopes to gross him out. Men usually don't like the talks about periods.

Luuk throws his head back in laughter. "I'm in the Mafia, do you think a little blood is going to stop me from doing this?"

He places sloppy kisses against my neck, and I shiver in disgust when I feel his tongue slide against my skin. His hand rips the fabric of my pants in half; the cold air bites my skin.

But then his assault stops when several low booming sound is heard. I smile. Did he not hear that?

"See, baby. I knew you'd like this. I love your smile." Luuk comments.

I'm smiling because of your nearing death, you dumbass.

The door swings open so quickly that Luuk doesn't even have time to react before he is ripped off of me and thrown against the nearby wall. His head cracks painfully against the wall, and the paint on the wall chips.

Ace is standing in front of me, looking at me with worried eyes. "I'm okay, I'm okay," I say to him in reassurance, "Deal with him." I point to Luuk, who groans and wearily stands up. He looks dazed.

"I-I....How? I thought you were dead. We blew your compounds up." Luuk exclaims in utter confusion.

Ace laughs. "You poor soul! We tricked you! Drew, take this man to our lockup. I'll explain our plan to the both of them at once so I won't have to repeat myself twice."

Once the men are cleared out of the room, Ace stands alone with me, looking down at me. "Ace, I-I need clothes. Mine were torn." I tell him softly.

Ace growls lowly, his eyes blazing with anger. "Did he hurt you?" He asks.

"I'm fine. You came in time and so I am okay."

Jordan pipes up. "Here, you can take my jacket. Lord knows this wouldn't be the first time." Jordan says as he hands me his jacket. Ace raises as eyebrow in suspicion.

"What do you mean this wouldn't be the first time?" He asks.

"Oh, well would you look at the time? I've got some survivors to arrest." Jordan says as he books it out of there.

Don't leave me alone Jordan! How dare you....

"Now....that's a story for another time." I say awkwardly.

Ace pauses. "Fine. But I do expect a mighty fine explanation or I might just have to roast some ass."

He escorts me through the building, in which many bodies of the dead and dying lie. Many rooms are demolished, and I see my mom limping as she is escorted out by Jeremy.

I'm glad she's safe.

Outside, the air is fresh and clean, and when I have a chance to actually go and see my mom, I take it. I run up to her and give her a hug, and Jeremy, the guy escorting her looks very confused.

The hug is amazing. I may have had a rocky past with her, but I have forgiven her. I enjoy her motherly embrace and I could stay like this forever. It's so comforting and warm and-

"Can someone tell me what the hell is going on here?" Ace asks, shattering the moment with my mom.

Pulling out of the hug, I smile. "Ace, this is my mom. She helped me escape when I was imprisoned here."

Ace narrows his eyes at her in suspicion. "Where were you when your daughter needed you the most? Do you know the pain she went through because you left her?"

My mom grows sad. "I can explain."

"Yeah, you better." Ace's voice is stern.

And so, my mom explains everything once more. Not one detail is left out or out of place. Ace's features soften a bit, yet still manages to remain stern throughout the explanation.

"Hmph....I suppose that's a forgivable offense, then. But...if I find any reason or evidence that you're lying, you will be at my mercy."

"Of course, sir." My mom replies politely.

Once everything is taken care of, Ace leaves his men to arrest the survivors to be taken to the lock-up for questioning. Ace has an in-laws quarters on his property, so once my mom's wounds are treated, we take her there.

The in-laws quarters is cute. It is complete with a little bed, a kitchen, and a living room. The walls are cream colored and the windows have a nice view of Ace's well kept property.

"This is perfect, thank you so much." My mom says as she turns to Ace and I. Her eyes look happy and her face seems to be worn from years of stress.

"You're welcome." Ace says.

"Mom, are you okay after everything? I mean, the only people you have known as family has practically been put on death row."

"Oh honey, they may have helped me out of a tough situation, but they were never there for me. Besides, everything they did was for their own gain, not mine. Now....tell me about this boy of yours."

"Mom..."

"Don't come back to this room unless you bring me grandchildren."

"Mom!" I scold, my face turning red.

"We won't come back unless we have kids, right Dakota?" Ace asks, smirking.

My face reddens. "I cannot believe you people."

My mom laughs. "Well, I'm happy for you. You're in love. You deserve the best."

"Thank you."

Ace's POV:

Lars, Luuk, and many of his men are locked up.

What will become of this Mafia?

Much to my despair, it won't just disappear. We can, however, deal with it the best we can. Revenge is sweet and is finally mine.

"And so I finally meet the man who tried to take the girl that is mine." I say as I unlock the door to Luuk's cage.

"You should have seen his face," Luuk snorts, "So full of fear. I couldn't wait to fuc-"

I cut his sentence off when I land a fist in his face. His chained body goes flying backwards into the wall.

"Talk about her like that one more time-"

"You're just going to kill me any way so why does it matter?" Luuk hisses.

"You're right. But I don't want to kill you so quickly now. My anger may just get ahead of me and it wouldn't be fun to kill you quickly in a blind rage."

Everything that Luuk had done to Dakota flashes before me in my mind, making me shake with rage. Don't kill him yet. Don't kill him yet.

So, instead, I satisfy my anger just a bit by hitting him over the head with my pistol. His body falls and limply hangs in his chains.

On second thought, it would be wise not to visit Lars today. I'd end up killing him with how angry I am already.

I find Dakota with her mom in the in-laws quarters. Dakota yaps away about Duma and her mom happily listens.

I clear my throat.

"Oh, hey Ace. Guess what?"

"What?"

"My mom said that you could be the leader of the Mafia since she has been there for over ten years."

"What!?"

"Do you want me to repeat that because you actually didn't hear what I said or-"

"I heard what you said!" I exclaim, cutting Dakota off.

Me? Leader of the Dutch Mafia?

"Think about it," Dakota says, shrugging, "You could join the gang and the Mafia together and be one big 'super power' if you know what I mean. You'd be even more powerful than you are now."

It's not a bad idea....just a huge responsibility....

"You could restore it back to how it once was. It' involved in many horrendous activities such as the sale of humans. I hate organizations that stand for that type of thing. I know it's a common practice in many gangs, though." Dakota's mom says.

The Revelation Gang does not take part in the human trafficking business. It hits too close to home for me and I would feel horrible if I brought such a deed into this gang. Most gang are involved in the trade of humans.

I am not nor will I ever be.

I know I am a gang leader who's involved in many illegal activities. But something about human trafficking disgusts me. The fact that people put a price tag on human worth is just....wrong.

It's funny coming from a gang leader.

Yes, I kill people.

Yes, I will continue to kill people.

But it's just the dark side of this job.

In this life, it's kill or be killed.

"That's horrible. Ace, could you imagine how many lives would be saved if you brought down the industry?" Dakota says with passion in her voice.

I think for a moment longer, debating what to do.

"I'll go call my men, we've got a Mafia to lead."

And so that's exactly what I did. I called up Jordan and Drew and word spread around quickly. I also made more phone calls to start the process of cleaning up the decimated ruins of the Mafia mansion.

I then called the brothel Lars was involved with, and had my men "take care" of the people running that horrible place.

Young girls and boys were freed that day. I made sure to give each individual enough money to buy food and find an apartment until they are able to find a job of their own.

Their new lives started today.

Heading home with tired eyes, I settle into bed next to Dakota.

"Dakota?" I ask.

"Yes?"

"What did Jordan mean when he said that about his jacket?"
