Chapter 26: Chapter 26

Third person's P.O.V.
I take Leon into my hands and swirl him around in the air, making him laugh in joy.
"More, mommy, more!" he cheers as I put him on the ground, lifting his small arms up towards me and unable to resist his charm, I swirl him around again. He laughs like he's having the fun of his life and I can't help but laugh as well.
"You're getting heavy, soon I won't be able to lift you up anymore." I tell him, kneeling down to his level and he pouts. "But I like being lifted up."
I pat his head full of dark brown curls and shrug. "But you do want to be a big boy don't you?" I ask and he nods enthusiastically.
"Yeah! I'm gonna be the biggest and the strongest boy on the planet!" he shouts, throwing his small hands in the air and I grin at him. "I'm sure."
"And don't worry, momma, I won't leave you like daddy."

Sophie's P.O.V.
I groan before I open my eyes, almost being blinded by all the white around me - white walls, white table, white ceiling, white floors, white everything.
Am I in heaven?
"No, not even close. You're in hospital." I hear a male voice and I look up to see a handsome doctor staring at me. "Hello, my name is Tate and I'm your doctor."
I frown, coughing and attempt to pull myself up, but he stops me. "You have to rest, lay. Your body is not in the best shape at the moment."
"Why am I here?" I ask, wincing at how terrible my voice sounds. Dr. Tate frowns. "You don't remember?"
I shake my head. "No, I-"
And then it hits me. I sit up straight, he can't prevent it this time. "How is my baby? Is everything okay?"
"Calm down, everything's fine. We don't actually know why you passed out, but it's probably because of stress considering what you're going through. I'm going to have to warn you that high levels of stress can damage the baby, this is not a joke. You need to find a way to relax, and you need to find it now." he tells me, his voice serious.
I nod, my mouth suddenly feeling very dry, and I sigh. "Can you pass me a glass of water?" I ask and he passes me a cup of tea. "We're going to prescribe you some vitamins, but they won't help if you won't find some way to deal with stress. Maybe yoga could help? Or spending more time in the nature, going on walks more often." he rambles. "Look, this baby being alive is a miracle by itself, we should've never even let you leave the hospital after you woke up from coma. I can't stress how serious your pregnancy is becoming day by day and I think that the best thing to do would be to stay here for a while, away from the stress in your life. Think about it okay?" he recommends and I nod, not liking the idea at all but if it's about my baby, I'm willing to do absolutely anything.
"Your family is here, do you want me to let them in?" he asks me.
"Who is it?"
"Your mum and her partner, and two young people, maybe siblings?"
Two young people? Could that be...?
"Yes, please." I smile and he nods, heading to open the doors and in rush Amber and Liam, both looking extremely worried and it's almost like I can breathe much easily now that I have them in sight.
"Oh, my god, you two." I smile a genuine smile as they both carefully wrap their arms around me.
"We missed you so much!" Amber squeals and kisses my cheek, pushing something in my hands. "Thank me later." she winks and makes a motion for me to put the present to the side.
"How are you guys?" I ask the two sunshines that lit up the whole room when they entered.
"We're quite great actually. As soon as we heard about you being in hospital, we left to go on the first flight possible. It's been almost borung since you moved here - at least while you lived in Spokane, we spoke over the phone more often." she shrugs and I sigh.
"I know, it sucks. We should Skype at least once a week, it would be a great shame to lose our friendship."
At that, Amber snorts. "Friendship? Bitch, we're basically family, I'm telling you, in less than half a year after this baby is born, we'll be sisters in law. God knows Axel will ask you to marry him as soon as the moment comes."
I blush, butterflies appearing in my stomach at his name, but they all turn to ash when I remember the last news I heard about him. "Where is he? In jail?" I ask, feeling a disgusting taste in my mouth left by those words.
"At the police station. He's been causing quite a riot since he found out you're here." Liam answers and Amber nods.
"They had to sedate him twice by now. It's really bad. It's like he loves you so much that he can't even control his actions." she adds and I gulp.
"I would go to check on him, calm him down, but I think I'm gonna stay here for a while until I'm sure that the baby is and will be okay. I hate it here, but I love my little one too much to risk anything." I say, despising my decision already. "Could you two go check on him after you leave? Tell him that I'm fine and that I'll be under supervision here. I hope that will calm him down." I say and Liam nods.
"Sure. Maybe you could write him a letter?" he advises me and I love the idea as soon as it leaves his mouth.
