Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Maeve wanted to ran and hide from all the attention she was getting as she walked down the halls of the MBC building.

Almost everyone's staring with a confused and questioning look on their faces. They were all used to see September Thorne around the office but they had never seen their CEO walked hand-in-hand with the notorious business man.

"Are they finally together?" Maeve heard someone whispered which was immediately shushed by someone else.

"Let go." She hissed at him quietly as she tries to free her hands from his tight grip. She almost sighed in relief when he let her hand go, but it was short-lived since it was immediately replaced with surprise as he put his arms around her waist and pulled her closer.

The eye's of the employees went wide after witnessing the scene before them. It was almost like publicly announcing that they were an item!

Maeve glared at him but he just gave her a playful smile before almost half dragging her towards the elevator.

"What the hell are you doing?!" She asked as soon as the door of her office closed.

September didn't mind her rising voice and just sat comfortably on the couch.

"Showing off." He said with a scoff.

"In my work place?!"

"Oh. You didn't inform me you wanted it done on mine. Next time. " He said as he wiggled his brows as he stare back at his mad wife.

Maeve took a deep breath to calm herself. She wasn't one to lose control over her emotions but this guy just keeps on riling her up!

"Don't you have anything else to do?" She asked as she walked towards her table.

"I told you I'm on leave."

"So what do you plan to do for a whole week?" She asked hoping that something would keep him occupied so he can stop following her.

"Nothing," September answered nonchalantly before gazing up to look at her face.

"You're not planning on following me all around the whole week...right?" She asked hopefully which made September smile sheepishly.

"Oh, actually, I do." He answered followed by a cheerful chuckle as he watched his wife's face contorted in irritation.

He stood up and went directly to the back of her swivel chair. Maeve felt her whole body froze on the spot when she felt her husband's arms around her nape before she felt them passed through her shoulder as soon as September's face appeared just beside her. He placed his head in between her neck and smiled as he tightened the embrace.

"W-what a-are y-you d-doing?" She asked shamelessly stuttering.

"I'm trying to be sweet here. Please cooperate, wifey." He whispered before she felt the soft touch of his lips on his cheeks. It was at that moment when the door opened and her secretary went in with wide eyes as she stared at her cold boss being cuddled with the handsome man behind her.

Maeve immediately got back to her feet and took September's arms away from her as she clear her throat and gestured her secretary like nothing happened. September grinned in amusement as he watched his wife avoid his gaze and pretend like he wasn't there at all.

He shook his head as he adoringly stared at his wife who busied herself talking with her secretary.

'She's too cute.' he thought as he noticed the slight blushing that she was trying to hide.

The vibration of his phone on his pocket took his attention away from his wife. He opened Falcon's message and his eyes immediately darkened. He looked up to stare at his wife for a while before he approached her once again, earning her and her secretary's attention.

"Something came up. I have to go for now. I'll be back by lunch." He informed before he gave a swift kiss on her cheeks before he took off without glancing back to her pretty secretary.

Maeve wanted to slap her face as she felt the embarrassment being caught of doing something like that at work. But she reigned herself and acted like nothing happened. Silently swearing to heaven's sake that she and September would have a long talk at home.

Meanwhile, September had reached Falcon's location. He immediately saw Mason Smith's terrified face as he looked around the abandoned building.

Just how can this old man produced a daughter like his wife? He can see no similarities between the two, be it on appearance or the way acted.

"September!" The old man greeted with glee as if he saw his savior. He immediately stool up from his chair and charge towards his son-in-law who immediately avoided him.

"I told you! My son-in-law would come pick me up!"

"Wow." Mr. Smith's attention was redirected to his son-in-law's sarcastic voice.

"You sounded so intimate calling me with my name. Who do you think you are to do that?" September asked in a cold voice. Mr. Smith were lost of words as he stare at his daughter's husband who was staring back at him mockingly.

"You're not even on good terms with my wife and now you're claiming me as your son-in-law? Remember? My wife isn't carrying your name, Mr. Smith." He said before he walked passed the old man and signaled Falcon before he took the seat that his people had prepared for him.

Not long enough, Mr. Smith was now seated in a chair in front of September as he faced his son-in-law's freezing glares.

"How did you get our signatures?"

"W-what signatures?" Mr. Smith asked with mixed emotion of being confused and intimidated.

"The signatures on our marriage certificate. Where did you get it from?"

"Isn't that your signature? Why would you ask me?" Mr. Smith asked once again. He was completely baffled with this random questioning.

September felt like something is going on. Mr. Smith looks so confused with his question. It was either he was a great actor or he was just not the person behind all those.

"How did you prepared the marriage certificate?" Falcon had checked and it was absolutely registered on the city's family register now.

"What do you mean? I prepared? Didn't you sent Maeve her copy?" The old man asked confusedly.

"You just received it at your house?" September asked with his right brow raised in question.

"Yes. It was actually under your name." September's eyes flew back to his butler who immediately nodded in understanding. It simply means to investigate further and check for the validity of his words.

"You can go now." He told the old man without sparing a glance at his father-in-law. He stood up and went away to go back at his wife's office
