Chapter 8: Chapter 8
It was such a fun weekend with the guys and now it is; bye, bye fun, hello crazy guests and Elijah. The start of a new week in the hotel begins with orientation and meetings, assigned staffs to various duties, etcetera, by Ethan the hotel manager. Every single employee is present and attentive as we listen to the new week schedule.
"...and that will be all for today, you will be notified in your various departments by your heads for any new change. You may go." We look like penguins in our black or white standard color whisperings as everyone disperse through their different doors. I chuckle at something Ella says when the call of my name halt my steps.
"Uh Nia?" I turn to Ethan giving Ella and Julio a heads up I'll meet them later by the bar.
"Yes, Ethan." I smile walking over to him. He raise his index telling me to give him a second as he talks to the head chef. I wait till he got done.
"You don’t work here anymore." Slowly my smile fix upside down. This is not happening to me. Not when I finally got a place that suit me, friends that love me and I in return. But then again it might be joke trying to pull my legs.
"What? You kidding right?" I chuckle humorlessly telling my heartbeat it should slow down a bit.
"No I’m serious." I look at him wearing the serious face. He really is. I began to hyperventilate. I have been good; I work as hard as anyone in this hotel so why will he fire me.
"Why? Ethan you can’t do this to me." I plea.
"Boss orders." Boss? What boss? Last I checked he’s the boss unless… Elijah. I grit the name venomously as if poisoned by it.
"You are to leave with immediate effect." I know there is no need arguing especially when someone as powerful as Elijah can make you regret questioning him and that made me
fume more. I turn to leave dejectedly. "Wait." I pause. "He said to give you this." a shiny platinum card so familiar to his penthouse stick out of his hand.
"That does it." snatching the card tight I match to the hotel. He can’t do this to me. I tap the card repeatedly on my hand as a means to tame my anger. Who does he think he is firing the best serving staff he has? I could have just kept my mouth shut than to offend him the other day. The doors chimes open. I step in seeing the empty room looking out the beautiful beach. Don’t be distracted Sonia. I went in search of the handsome devil trying to frustrate my life.
Room after room I finally get to see him in the gym room lifting weights.
Black sweat pants stretched to maximum as he lifts the iron bars, a very bare chest showing off his numerous tattoos covered in sweat. His pants were literally hanging very low showing off his defined v line above a sculpted eight packs. Sweet heavens.
Clearing my throat making my presence known I say. "Mr. Ivanov, may I please speak with you?"
He doesn’t look at me still lifting his weights which I know he knows I am in the room with him. It not only annoys me but also distracts me watching the way his biceps flex and his muscles clasp together in rigid perfection.
"What do you want princess?" velvety voice muse.
"Nia. My name is Nia. Can you stop calling me that?" He pauses dropping the weight striding to where I stood by the door. My breathe seized in my throat merely inches away from him. I felt my anger dissipate meeting him in the eye scared at the same time turned on. How is he doing this? Is this witchery?
His hand went behind my head as I watch him cautiously. What is he trying to do now? Charming eyes gaze deep into mine as if unsure of what he is seeing, brows furrow, lips thinned into a fine line. Closing my eyes scared for a moment because I couldn't predict what is going on in his head because he is sometimes scary. After some seconds of no impact I open back noticing the amused look on his face.
"Soon, I'll give you what to be scared of." Snatching the bottle of water behind me he walks out of the room. Heaving deeply, I stood there in shock silently cursing myself for losing my guard giving him reins over me again.
Regaining my composure I went after him. "Why did you fire me Elijah?" We found ourselves back in the main room.
"Watch your tone Nia. I don’t take it kindly with people who irritate me." He growls.
"You can’t do this to me Elijah. This is my life you are toying with." Snapping at him. He doesn’t expect me not to react when he fired me.
"And I offer you a better one. Quit working at the pool to work at the reception or my penthouse. You or your boyfriend. Your choice."
"You are not playing fair Elijah. You can't keep giving me ultimatums that only works perfectly for you." grey eyes rake over my body and i somehow felt naked in his eyes.
"I won’t have you prancing about in tiny little skirt and a flimsy bra." It’s my body. I want to scream at him.
"You don’t own me Elijah." instead I settled for this.
"Don’t test me princess. You really don’t want to get me angry." Veins begins to pop out on his neck and face. I’m the one with rights to get mad and not him. Fine, if he wants it that way then I’ll give him what best suit him.
"If I can’t have my old job back, then I can’t work for you." I turn on my heels to the elevator pressing the button as I wait for it to open. He can’t do this me. Acting claimed series on me, as how? I step in as it opens.
"You can run princess but you can never hide from me." fed up with his controlling bossiness
I press the ground floor button looking him straight in the eye. He can go fuck himself and his job. I quit.
"Goodbye Elijah." The doors ding close on our faces. My eyes shifts to his bare torso covered in tattoos wanting to have the image of the perfection one last time drifting to the thick bulge hidden behind the constraint of his sweat pant that brought me pleasures untold, then his face. Hard and emotionless, strong jawline, full lips and finally his piercing grey eyes.
Elijah is the sexiest man I have met but more so dangerous and I got into an entangled clause with him.
A sinister look grace his face, a raised brow backing it up. "Hello Princess."
