Chapter 31: Chapter 31

โ—Daniel's P.O.V.โ—

"์•ˆ๋…•ํ•˜์„ธ์š”"

ใ€Hello..

ใ€Do you want to buy your girlfriend roses, young man?ใ€‘ The lady asked, smiling.

"์•ˆ๋…•ํ•˜์„ธ์š”."

"ใ€Hello.ใ€‘" I said awkwardly.

I glanced at that lady, then at Nuri.

"์•„๋‹ˆ์š”, ์•„์ฃผ๋จธ๋‹ˆโ€ฆ."

ใ€No, ma'am...ใ€‘ I tried to explain that we were not dating.

But suddenly, Nuri took all the roses from the lady and said, "Can you ask her, how much is it? I'll pay."

I stared at her with confused eyes, but then I remembered she didn't understand what Ajuma said. Finally watching me staring at her, she asked, "What ?"

I shook my head then smiled like a stupid. I was a little happy because she didn't understand Korean.

"I'll pay," I said.

"No โ€ฆI'll pay.

I love roses very much..."

"Think of those as a gift from me," I replied, smiling as I paid the lady with Korean won.

The lady also looked happy.

"ํ•ญ์ƒ ํ–‰๋ณตํ•ดํ•˜๋ผ"

"ใ€Be Happy Always..ใ€‘," The lady said to us before leaving.

She blessed us. I smiled widely. Her words amusingly made me happy.

"What did she say ?" Nuri asked, being curious.

I cleared my throat while making up some lies.

"She said thank you for buying all the flowers and blessed you," I said, smiling awkwardly.

"Ah..reallyโ€ฆThat's great." Nuri smiled.

She smelled the roses as we started walking together again. We were not dating, but strangely I felt good when I noticed her being happy with the roses.

*********************

We entered my favorite BBQ restaurant. The Restaurant was My favorite because it was my Ajuma and Ajusi's. I introduced Nuri to them, and Ajuma asked if she was my Girlfriend. I just smiled.

She told me to take a free table.

I ordered the food. Nuri and I were having a casual conversation when I heard, "Oh Woah, am I seeing Kim Daniel ?"

I glanced up and saw Yun-Joon standing there with the new girl employee Jeena, with whom he was making out in his office last time. And I had to see that incident with my poor eyes.

"Oh, Miss Nuri, you're here too.

I was wondering who can hang out with this weird man." Yun-Joon sneered, glancing at Nuri as he walked near to us.

Jeena scoffed, pressing her lips together.

I crossed my arms over my chest as I narrowed my eyes on Yun Joon, already feeling annoyed.

โ—Nuri's P.O.V.โ—

"Can we join you?" Yun-Joon asked Daniel, shamelessly.

"No.." Daniel answered without any hesitation.

"Aaisshโ€ฆSo rude..!

You shouldn't be so rude to your colleagues Daniel. Let me join you."

Yun-Joon shamelessly joined us while saying all that. The lady with Yun-Joon sat beside me, and Yun-Joon took the empty seat beside Daniel.

The kind old lady came again to take Yun-Joon's order.

"What are they having?

We would like to order the same." Yun-Joon said, pointing at us.

Yun-Joon deliberately said the sentence in English so I could understand. Then he also explained the same line to the lady, If I understood right.

I was confused about his motive. What did he want to prove by doing all this?

Daniel made an annoyed face as he blinked several times, staring at Yun-Joon. After ordering his food, Yun-Joon glanced at me.

"Nuri, please meet Miss Jeena, our colleague.

And Jeena, this is Miss Nuri, Daniel's foreigner friend."

I felt disgusted when he pronounced my name with his flirty tone. Every time he talked like that, I felt cringe. But the woman Jeena was giving a kind of opposite reaction to mine.

She smiled and glanced at me.

"Hello, Nuri Eonni." She bowed a little.

"Oh..hello." I bowed back.

"I am not quite good in English, but I'll try to communicate in English as much as I can." Jeena smiled brightly.

Jeena seemed quite a jolly person, and her smile had no slyness. I liked that fact.

She was pretty. A typical Korean beauty. Mono eyelids, pointed nose, oval-shaped face, and a model-like figure. I felt quite jealous staring at her.

Any good-looking man would fall in love with her. Maybe that was why Yun-Joon was hanging out with her. I shifted my gaze to my opposite seat to find out what Daniel's reaction was when Jeena was around.

But what I saw was Daniel was sitting stiffly beside Yun Joon as if he became stone while crossing his hands over his chest. And his eyes were glued on Yun-Joon with an irritated look. I stared at him for two whole minutes, but he never glanced at Jeena or anywhere else except Yun-Joon.

"Pfffftttt." I couldn't control my laugh.

Everyone's attention shifted to me. I cleared my throat and averted my eyes from Daniel.

"What?" Daniel asked.

"Nothing.. nothing. Just remembered a funny story." I said, making a common excuse.

"A bouquet of Roses!" Yun-Joon gasped.

I glanced to my left, where I kept my roses.

"Has someone confessed to you ?" Yun-Joon said while smirking. Then he turned his head to Daniel. He was suspecting Daniel.

"Why? Do you have any problems ?" Daniel raised an eyebrow.

"I see, you didn't deny the fact there." Yun-Joon smirked, "So got rejected or friend-zoned?"

Daniel opened his mouth to answer him properly when the old lady of the restaurant appeared with our orders. Daniel closed his mouth again.

I saw it was meat cut in small pieces, and we had a griller on the table. Also, there was a cessor in case we needed to cut the meat into smaller parts. Daniel started grilling the meat.

Before the old lady could return to her desk, Yun-Joon stopped her and asked something. The lady nodded and returned to bring something.

I noticed Daniel giving death glares to Yun-Joon, but I couldn't understand what was going on.

"What?

It can help you forget the pain of rejection." Yun-Joon smirked.

"How do you know she rejected me ?" Daniel replied, maintaining eye contact.

The environment was getting a little tense. I tried to cool off the situation.

"Ah! Well, Yun-Joon, are you on a date with Jeena ?" I asked, smiling.

"No- " Yun-Joon said, wasting no time.

Jeena stared at Yun-Joon for quite a time. Then she lowered her head.

"We were left in the office, so we decided to eat dinner together," Yun-Joon explained.

Daniel rolled his eyes and concentrated on grilling meats.

"I see.." I replied casually.

Soon the lady appeared with some bottles in her hand. It looked like alcohol. Keeping four bottles and little glasses on the table, she returned to her place. I glanced at Daniel in confusion.

"It's soju," Daniel explained.

I realised it was Korean alcohol. I smiled.

Yun-Joon poured four glasses with respect as he was telling some story in Korean to Daniel. Everyone took one glass, except me.

"What happened, Miss Nuri.

You can try it. It's the most common drink we enjoy here." Yun-Joon explained.

"I don't drink," I replied awkwardly.

"Oh, come on, Miss Nuri, just try for once," Yun-Joon requested again.

I was feeling uncomfortable. I had never drunk alcohol in my whole life because I never saw my dad drinking any in his whole life. But I couldn't understand if I was disrespecting them by rejecting the drinks. I hesitated at first, thinking if I should accept one drink.

I closed my eyes for a second. Then I decided I am not going to drink it.

"I am really sorry, Yun-Joon shi, but I can't drink it." I rejected politely.

"Enough..why are you pushing this ?" Daniel protested.

"Give me her drink too. I'll have it." Daniel just snatched the glass from Yun-Joon's hand and drank it.

I kept staring at Daniel. He didn't need to do this for me. Then he put some grilled pork in a dish placed in the middle of the table. I learnt how to use chopsticks from Daniel. I wasn't a pro at it, but I was doing good.

I picked up a piece of meat with chopsticks, and my eyes widened.

I showed it to Daniel.

"Daniel, look, I did it."

"Omo...You did great." Daniel gave me a thumbs up.

Yun-Joon and Jeena stared at us as if we were crazy people who escaped from Mental hospital. Not bothered by them, I placed the meat inside my mouth. It wasn't that bad. Actually, it was good as Daniel said.

"You should drink soju with grilled pork belly.

It will be tastier." Yun-Joon once again offered me a glass of soju.

I glanced at Yun-Joon with disbelief. Daniel once again snatched the drink from Yun-Joon's hand and drank it.

"Didn't I say, I'll drink the parts of her drink too," Daniel said as he put the glass on the table.

I glanced at Daniel with worry.

He kept drinking his drinks, also mine. The evening went like that, and everyone else was drunk except me.

Jeena, Yun-Joon were talking gibberish in Korean.

I sighed, watching them. Daniel was laughing hard. He poured another glass of Soju for himself.

I snatched it from his hand.

"Stop drinking !" I scolded him.

"Yun-Joon shi, Jeena shi, can you go home by yourself?" I asked, glancing at them with concern.

"I can," Yun-Joon replied with his half-closed eyes.

"But I don't want to go!

Let's party! Let's get drunk!" He said, throwing his hands in the air.

Jeena made some noises supporting Yun-Joon and I sighed in despair.

I called a cab for Yun-Joon and Jeena. Yun-Joon was quite sober compared to others. He took the responsibility to help Jeena reach her home. I greeted them good night as the cab left.

Then I returned to the restaurant. And I saw Daniel was sleeping on the table, blabbering so many things in Korean. Now it was time to take him home. I paid the bill and pulled out my phone to call another cab.

****************

We reached the 5th floor, and I helped Daniel to reach his apartment finally. He kept laughing the whole way.

"Daniel, open the lock of your door," I said as he was leaning on my shoulder.

Daniel pulled out the keys from his jeans and showed them to me. I tried to take it from him, but before that, he pulled back the keys and put them back in his jeans pocket.

"I won't give you the keys!" Daniel giggled.

"Daniel, give it to me, please. We need to open the door," I said, being annoyed.

"Noooo.." Daniel moved away with his shaking steps.

"Why not?" I asked, being annoyed.

"I want to go there." He pointed his index finger towards the upper floors.

"Where ?"

Daniel didn't say anymore. He just held my hand and started pulling me towards the elevator. As soon as we entered the elevator, he pressed the button to go to the top floor. My eyes widened.

"Why are we going to the rooftop?"

He just kept giggling, standing in a corner of the elevator.
