Chapter 459: Chapter 459

The little boy sniffled as he answered Mabel Quinn’s questions. Since children don’t usually say much anyway, and with his words muffled by tears, it took Mabel quite some time to understand what he was saying.

He knew his name was Brandon Walker, attended kindergarten’s junior class, but he didn’t know his parents’ names or their contact numbers. Today, he had gone out with his mom. As for the rest, all Brandon could say was, "Mom disappeared, and I just went around looking for her."

Mabel Quinn frowned. It seemed that no useful information could be obtained.

"Let’s take the child to the police station first, then ask them to check the nearby surveillance and issue a missing person alert," Kyle Kinston suggested, quickly proposing a solution.

Mabel also felt that was the best way to handle things, "So the nearest police station would be..."

"I’ll have the Driver take the child to the police station," Kyle said, just as he was about to contact the Driver, the little boy’s stomach grumbled. His slightly teary eyes looked at Mabel, and in a childish voice, he said, "Hungry."

So adorable! Children really do resemble little angels.

Mabel stood up straight and said to Kyle, "Why don’t we take the child to find somewhere to eat first? While we eat, we can contact the nearby police station to explain the situation and ask them to help look for his mom. After eating, we can take him to the police station. After all, there probably isn’t any food at the police station." Considering it was almost noon, it made sense that the child was hungry; even Mabel herself was feeling a bit hungry.

Kyle nodded, "Alright, let’s go eat first then."

Since the parade hadn’t completely passed through yet, there were still many people around. Mabel was worried the boy might get knocked over, so she bent down and picked him up.

The little boy naturally wrapped his arms around Mabel’s neck and snuggled his head against her chest, showing a bit of closeness.

Mabel has always loved children, and such an affectionate gesture from the child made her very happy. She couldn’t resist kissing his soft cheek, "Later, I’ll take you to eat something delicious and then we’ll go find your mom, okay?" ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ n͟o͟v͟e͟l͟f͟i͟r͟e͟.net

The little boy giggled, nodded, and then leaned over to give Mabel a kiss on her cheek, nestling into her neck.

Beside them, Kyle raised an eyebrow and directly lifted the little boy from Mabel’s arms, "Let me carry him; you’re holding him for too long, and you might get bumped by someone."

"Oh, that’s fine too," Mabel agreed.

The little boy, however, was not pleased, pouting and on the verge of bursting into tears again. Kyle immediately said, "If you don’t want to be carried, then you can walk on your own."

With that, the prepared cry was stifled back, his tender face showing clear hesitation, but he ultimately submitted to the reality.

Mabel was amused by the scene in front of her; a dignified CEO, threatening a small child .

But in saying that, it was also the first time she saw him holding a child. Even though this was just a stranger’s child, it still invoked a faint sense of warmth.
