Chapter 439: Chapter 439

After leaving the clubhouse, Liang Cai grew angrier the more he thought about it.

He decided to swing by a nearby bar instead. He was a regular there, and most people knew him, so it didn’t take long for a pretty woman to approach him on her own.

"Get lost," Liang Cai said, his face full of hostility that warded off strangers.

The women left awkwardly, annoyed but powerless.

"Feng Yueyang, if I don’t get my revenge, I’ll never rest!"

Downing a glass of strong vodka, Liang Cai was already starting to feel tipsy.

"What’s so great about him? He acts all high and mighty, but deep down, he’s just a playboy who drinks, gambles, and chases women like the best of them... Why is it that you only have eyes for him?"

Liang Cai clung to the bottle and started rambling incoherently.

Not long ago, his father, Liang Wei, had reviewed the project report he submitted and was bitterly disappointed.

"Take a look at Feng Yueyang. He managed to turn his life around and now runs the Feng Group like a well-oiled machine. And you? You couldn’t even put together a project report without making it useless and uninspired, not worth eating or throwing away. How can I feel secure handing the company over to you ?"

"Feng Yueyang won’t be able to keep up his act for long," he protested indignantly.

"I don’t know how long he can keep it up, but you can’t even be bothered to put up an act. Look at that group of leeches you’ve gathered under you. Take your project report and get the hell out of here. If you don’t deliver a decent report within three days, I’ll disband your entire team."

Through his father’s secretary, he found out that his father was planning to pursue an acquisition deal with the Feng Group. For him, this news was a bolt from the blue.

To work under Feng Yueyang in the future? He’d rather die.

But his father had always been obsessed with what happened in the past. Feng Chi’s untimely death left him with overwhelming guilt that had only grown over the years. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ n͟o͟v͟e͟l͟f͟i͟r͟e͟.net

So Liang Cai found a way to secure a chance to negotiate directly with Feng Yueyang, intending solely to sabotage the talks. He hadn’t expected Feng Yueyang to be even more impulsive than he’d imagined. Once back home, he exaggerated the situation to his father, knowing full well that no matter how guilty his father felt about Feng Chi, he wouldn’t allow a junior to trample on their reputation.

Liang Cai fancied himself clever as he maneuvered between parties, smirking triumphantly at his own scheming.

At that moment, another fearless woman sidled up to him. Naturally, Liang Cai wrapped an arm around her and walked out of the bar, leaving the other women fuming silently, clenching their teeth in jealousy.

Liang Cai staggered out of the bar with his arm around the woman. Close to his ear, she asked coyly, "Mr. Liang, where are we headed?"

Liang Cai ran a hand over the silky, pale skin of the young woman. Fueled by alcohol, he slurred, "Of course, we’re heading home. A night is worth more than gold, hahaha...."

His laughter was abruptly cut off when a sack suddenly dropped over his head, swallowing him whole.

Liang Cai didn’t have time to react before he passed out.

The woman, startled by the sudden turn of events, was about to scream but a large hand struck the back of her neck, knocking her unconscious.

"Liang Cai, that worthless scumbag. Dogs can’t stop themselves from eating shit—always preying on decent girls without shame."

Feng Yueyang cursed under his breath as he hoisted the unconscious man onto his shoulder.

Chong Ming watched the scene, his expression unimpressed. Seeing the man inside the sack, anger burned in his chest.

"This bastard really drove the boss over the edge. Tonight’s going to be a long night for him."

With those words, he kicked the sack forcefully, but the man inside remained motionless.

Feng Yueyang took a couple of steps forward, then turned back to glare. "What are you dawdling for? Don’t keep the boss waiting."

Chong Ming had no difficulty hoisting the sack onto his shoulder and caught up in just a few strides. "Not bad, looks like you’re getting pretty good at these kinds of jobs. Seems like the lessons I’ve been giving you lately haven’t gone to waste."

"Of course. Who do you think you’re learning from?" Feng Yueyang said smugly, tilting his chin upward.

To the west of the bar was a narrow, secluded alley that led to a dead end. It was piled with furniture and outdated fixtures waiting for disposal, making it a place no one would typically step foot into.

The alley was unlit, but the soft moonlight filtering in was just enough to see by.

A tall, slender shadow stood silently in the depths of the alley, almost merging with the endless darkness around him.

Chong Ming moved quickly into the alley and dumped the sack onto the ground. The man inside groaned in pain, the sound raw and pained.

Feng Yueyang, showing rare consideration, placed the unconscious woman carefully against the wall and even draped his jacket over her to prevent exposing her.

"Boss, you don’t need to dirty your hands. Feng and I could easily beat this trash to death with a single punch. He’s not worth your effort."

Shen You’an said lightly, "Wake him up."

Feng Yueyang quickly interjected, "Boss, if he sees your face, it’ll complicate things...."

"He needs to know who his debts belong to and where his grudges lead."
