Chapter 124: Chapter 124
If he were at school, he would have to handle this personally, no matter what.
Shen Huailu warmly greeted Shen You’an over the phone and then assured her that the school would take this matter seriously. He promised that Lii Yinyin would personally apologize to Shen You’an, and she would also face public disciplinary action at a school assembly. They planned to treat this incident as a typical case and handle it strictly.
"Teacher Shen, aside from the few of us involved in this, no one else knows about it. So I think it’s better not to make a big fuss and let everyone know."
"Shen, what do you mean?"
"I want Lii Yinyin to apologize to me in person. If she truly realizes her mistake and changes, then I’m willing to let this matter slide."
Shen You’an and Lii Yinyin had never interacted and hadn’t even exchanged a single word. She didn’t understand why Lii Yinyin would spread rumors about her, but from a human perspective, she seemed to have grasped the reason.
Let this matter begin quietly, and let it end quietly as well.
It wasn’t out of kindness or sympathy for Lii Yinyin—after all, she was just a stranger to Shen You’an, not worth her time or energy.
Shen simply hated trouble. If the situation escalated and became the talk of the school, she didn’t want to become anyone’s dinner table gossip.
In the dead of night, Shen You’an was jolted awake by a series of urgent knocks at the door.
She jumped out of bed immediately. As Shen stepped out of her room, Zhang Jian emerged too, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
"Who the heck is it in the middle of the night?"
Shen You’an turned on the lights, walked to the foyer, and peered through the peephole.
"Zhang Jian, get out here! Well, well, you and your precious niece secretly bought this nice house without telling me? The two of you are something else! What, are you keeping some woman on the side too? I’m warning you, if you think you can dump me and live the good life, forget it!"
Zhou Qin’s loud voice carried through the door, cursing incessantly.
Zhang Jian’s face instantly paled, and he muttered, "How did she even find this place?"
Shen You’an let out a cold laugh. Her uncle was discreet and humble, not one to flaunt his life—even Luo Wan hadn’t been told. Naturally, Shen You’an wouldn’t have said anything either.
There was only one possible person who knew they lived here.
Excellent. She had intended to let this slide, but apparently, someone insisted on pushing their luck.
Shen You’an had no interest in bickering with a shrew. She returned to her room, picked up her phone, and dialed 110.
"Shen You’an, you shameless brat! After all these years of me raising you with my hard-earned money, this is how you repay me? You ungrateful dog with no conscience or decency ...."
Zhou Qin’s insults became increasingly vicious and louder, waking up the neighbors upstairs and downstairs. Even the property management sent security guards to investigate.
Zhang Jian, enraged, was about to charge out to confront Zhou Qin.
Shen You’an stopped him quickly: "Uncle, don’t be impulsive. Going out now will only play right into her hands."
"But she—ah...." Zhang Jian, frustrated, crouched on the floor, clutching his head and pounding it furiously.
While waiting for the police to arrive, Shen You’an grabbed her laptop, sat at the dining table, and her fingers swiftly moved across the keyboard. She hacked into the property’s surveillance system.
Simultaneously, she dialed the property management’s number.
"I’m the owner of Unit 2501 in Building 10, and I want to lodge a complaint against your property management personnel for negligence. You’ve allowed a dangerous individual to enter the premises, threatening the safety of me and my family. If anything happens to us, can you bear the responsibility?"
Shen’s aggressive tone startled the staff member on duty to the point of incoherence.
"Uh... Is this possibly a misunderstanding?"
"Someone is eying my inheritance, constantly seeking an opportunity to harm me. That’s why I live here secretly. From beginning to end, I’ve disclosed no information about my address. So, tell me, if your personnel didn’t leak my location, how else would the person outside my door know where I live?"
The staff member realized the gravity of the situation and dared not make decisions on their own. "Please hold for a moment."
After hanging up the landline, they used their mobile phone to call the manager.
If what this homeowner said was true, it meant that property staff had divulged her information. Should anything happen to her, the property management would undoubtedly be held accountable.
Five minutes later, Shen You’an received the answer from the manager.
At 8 PM, the owner of Unit 1202 in the same building had called one of the property staff members and casually coaxed out the details of Shen You’an’s unit number.
The owner of Unit 1202 was surnamed Lii.
At this point, the truth was clear.
Meanwhile, the police arrived and restrained Zhou Qin.
Shen You’an opened the door and politely addressed the officers, "Officer, this individual has repeatedly caused disturbances, trespassed on private property, and used threatening language, posing emotional and physical harm to me and my family. Please handle this seriously to prevent further escalations."
The police noted how the young girl’s face remained composed, and her tone was exceptionally calm. Emotional harm sounded a bit exaggerated, sure, but they had witnessed Zhou Qin’s outrageous behavior firsthand—it wasn’t fake. Plus, it was the middle of the night; such chaos indeed disrupted the peace.
As soon as Zhou Qin saw Shen You’an, she began to struggle frantically.
"Shen You’an, you ungrateful brat! I’m your aunt, for god’s sake...."
The officers exchanged glances. Was this a family dispute?
Shen You’an, expressionless, declared, "This woman engaged in multiple infidelities during her marriage to my uncle. My uncle has already filed for divorce in court. Even if the court ruling hasn’t come through yet, either party has the right to seek a personal protection order if there’s intent to threaten, harm, or harass during this period."
"Additionally, her repeated harassment and verbal abuse constitute psychological harm. Under the provisions of the Anti-Domestic Violence Law, this matter can be reported to the public security bureau for criminal accountability."
The girl’s words were firm and powerful, ringing with conviction.
The two police officers, though seasoned in handling disputes, found her demeanor remarkable. They had seen countless victims, but never had they encountered someone as composed as this young girl, even quoting legal statutes so methodically—it was intriguing.
"Shen You’an, you wretched girl! I’ll kill you sooner or later...." Zhou Qin was almost foaming with rage.
Shen arched an eyebrow. "Officer, did you hear that? She just threatened to kill me. I’m so scared."
The officers felt chills, then glared fiercely at Zhou Qin and barked, "Behave yourself!"
"Officer, I’ll go with you to give my statement."
The police, now liking the clever young girl, smiled and said, "It’s late. Don’t trouble yourself tonight. Come to the station in the morning to complete your statement."
"Thank you, officers," Shen You’an replied warmly.
When she smiled, she looked utterly innocent and sweet.
But facing Zhou Qin again, her gaze held unmistakable disgust.
Shen You’an watched as the officers led Zhou Qin away. Adjusting the coat around her shoulders, her gaze turned colder than the autumn night outside.
If she’s in, she better not come out again.
