Chapter 42: Chapter 42
Cramps. They are the worst enemy of Natasha and it gets worse and worse with every passing month. This month was no less. And what's worse was; she not having her sanitary napkins. How in the world did that happen? You may ask. She forgot to get herself one whilst shifting her things here and she'd be foolish to expect one in Farhan's home and more foolish to forget what date on the month it was.
"Ugh." she groaned in pain, also aware of the stain she has created on her bed, for the first time Natasha was glad that she and Farhan didn't share a room, yet. It still bugged her to date but today she was glad to be away from him. It saved her from such a big embarrassment.
It has been three weeks since their marriage now. They were both busy, she with her assignments, classes, tests and him; with his boutique. They didn't get that much time to get along.
But what bothered her more was, how on the earth is she going to get her sanitary pads?
"Natasha? Are you okay in there?" she heard Farhan's voice from the other side of the door and became tensed. She didn't want him inside her room. No, not today. He never came in here till date, she preferred it that way.
"What?" she asked in her irritated tone. Natasha gets equally cranky when on her periods.
Farhan on the other hand frowned at her unpleasant response. He was worried because, she usually wakes up early and cooks both of their lunch and breakfast, which they will eat in silence and then he'd drop her off at college. It has been their routine for three continuous weeks.
But today the unusual thing happened and Natasha didn't come out of her room when it was way past her college time. He realized it only just now as he looked at the wall clock in the living room which was stuck at nine a.m.
"Why aren't you ready? Aren't you getting late for your college?" he asked curiously if she didn't open the door in five minutes. Then he will. He has the keys and it was seriously odd of her to not come out of the room like this. He was very worried.
"I'm taking leave, okay? Stop bothering me," she replied again, in her unusual irritated tone.
"Why?" he asked and from inside Natasha felt like smacking his handsome face. What in the world was his problem?
"None of your business, Farhan. Just go away," she replied, tiredly. Not in the mood for any argument so early in the morning.
For few moments she didn't hear any reply which made her sigh inwardly. At least he left her alone or so she thought.
What she didn't expect was the doorknob to twist on its own and the door pulled open from the other side, revealing a very handsome Farhan. She glared at him whilst making sure that her duvet has properly covered her.
"How dare you?" she began to yell but words died deep down her throat as his warm hands came in contact with her forehead. What was he doing? She wondered in confusion, but that stupid shiver didn't fail to make its appearance with his every touch.
"You don't have any temperature." he sounded relieved. Why does he care anyway?
"I don't. Will you explain what in the world are you doing in my room?" she demanded him furiously. He looked taken aback at that tone. Her crankiness was something rare and it makes its appearance only on a certain period of time which he and Haya will always make fun of. The good old times came back to his mind and then suddenly realization hits upon him.
"Oh. Now I get it." she raised her eyebrows in confusion.
"You're in pain again, right? Do you need something?" he asked with concern and her eyes widened at that. How did know that was beyond her, but she certainly didn't appreciate him barging into her room like this and that too without her permission.
"Seriously? Don't act as if you care." she snapped at him angrily. He was taken aback yet again. Why would he not care?
"Of course, I care," Farhan replied defensively making Natasha laugh, a sarcastic laugh that made him frown.
"Did you forget what you said, Farhan Sheikh?" she asked whilst hiding her hurt. It still hurt her so much, whenever the memories of that evening come back to her mind.
"What did I say? Please remind me." he was genuinely confused. Not getting what was talking about.
"Do remember this, always. Don't expect me to be a loving and caring husband, because I will not be." she tried to mimic his tone and he froze. Those were the same words he has used and he didn't think that it would have such an impact on her. She was almost on the verge of tears which did go by his notice and that made him feel like the worst person alive.
"Why do you suddenly care?" she asked whilst masking her hurt.
"Before your husband, I was your best friend. I care for you and I'm sorry that I made you feel otherwise." he was genuinely sorry. Farhan had no idea that his simple words would create such havoc in her and he felt responsible for making her feel that way.
"Please get out of my room, I don't want you beside me and certainly not your care too." it was almost like everything which she has kept inside her was coming out of her mouth. She'd give those credits to her periods, it always brought the worst out of her and this time was no less too.
"Do you want anything? I can get it you know." as if he didn't hear what she just said he asked her that making Natasha gape at him.
"Are you deaf?"
"No, I'm not. But are you?" he found her face extremely cute and almost wanted to pinch her cheeks like he always would, but he stopped himself.
"If you're not deaf, then tell me what do you want?" she glared at him in response.
"What part of 'get out of my room' you don't understand? Huh? And how dare you to enter my room without my permission?" she asked him angrily.
"God, Nats. I was worried. You didn't come out of this room for so long what else did you expect?" he was almost on the verge of losing his cool.
"Why are you worried? You said you wouldn't care, so stop bothering yourself."
"You're my best friend, my wife." Natasha laughed at that. She freaking laughed.
"Wife? I thought I was like your sister." Why did she have to remember everything? Farhan groaned inwardly.
"Look, Natasha. It was before marriage. And now even if I want to, I cannot change the fact that you're my wife and that makes you my responsibility. Tell me what you want?" he asked her again, she was surprised by his calm tone. She wished that he'd get angry and leave her the hell alone but luck didn't seem to be on her side today.
"It doesn't matter. All I want is for you to leave me alone. Please." Natasha didn't want him to see something which he wouldn't wish to see. And to top of it all, her bedsheets were white in colour. It was so white that she feared it might give away what she is trying to hide beneath it.
She didn't wish to embarrass herself and for that, he needed to leave her room.
"I'm not going until you tell me what do you want." she groaned inwardly. He was as stubborn as her and that is making the matters worse. She didn't want him near her. Was that so hard to understand?
"I want you to get me something," Natasha mumbled finally after a lot of thinking as she knew he wasn't going to leave until she tells him what she wants. He was stubborn like that.
"What?" Farhan was relieved that she is finally giving in. He knew that she needed something, how he knew was something beyond him but he just knew.
"You go to the medical store first. I will text you on the way." that was the only possible idea she could come up with. It might cost her less embarrassment and that mattered a lot to her.
"Okay?" he was confused at her strange request but obliged anyway. At least she was going to tell what she wants.
When Farhan was halfway through, he got a text from her on Whatsapp, which made him shake his head. So this was all the fuss is about? An involuntary smile etched on his lips as she deleted the message for everyone. She amused him very much. She was so adorable and cute. There were no doubts about it.

Natasha didn't dare look at Farhan's eyes as he came back from the medical store with her necessity and placed them on her bed. He left her room as quick as he could, not wanting to embarrass her any further. He understood how she must feel.
It was half-past ten when she finally came out of her room. He hoped that she was in a better mood now. Cranky Natasha is not someone you'll be very fond of.
"I brought you breakfast," he mumbled, to which she nodded and walked into the kitchen. There were no words spoken yet. Only that uncomfortable silence lingered around as she sat on the dining table and ate her breakfast, silently.
Farhan sat on the table opposite to hers as he placed the water bottle towards her. She raised her in confusion but doesn't say anything. So did he.
There was only silence.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" she finally asked, unable to mask her emotions as he kept on gazing at her intensely for the past five minutes.
"Nothing." he stood up abruptly, confusing her furthermore as he walked towards his room. And stopped midway as he said, "you should know that I don't consider you as any sister. You're my wife now and I don't intend to change that."
And to say Natasha was shocked would be an understatement.
