“Ajay! Wake up.” I felt someone shaking me, and I smiled hearing my name in her voice.

“What is it, Jiya?” I asked, turning to the other side holding her hand and started drifting off into sleep.

“We are getting late for office.” She replied.

“We will go late.” I mumbled and started pulling her on the bed still closing my eyes.

“No! You already took so many leaves. Now get up.” She said scolding and even hit on my shoulder.

“Poor me.” I said getting up and yawned.

“You are looking beautiful.” I said after few minutes staring only at her.

“What? A normal dress which I wore many times already?” She asked putting her ear rings.

“I am not talking about the dress. I am just talking about the way you are getting ready. The way you are doing is beautiful.” I replied, and she stared at me from the mirror.

“Thanks.” She mumbled, and I got up from the bed to get ready.

“What are you doing, Jiya? We are getting late. Hurry.” I said walking outside wearing my suit.

“Really? I didn’t know that at all.” She said, holding the front door for me.

“Tell your boss that you got late because of me.” I said, and we both rushed outside.

We would have stayed back, but there is an important meeting in a few minutes. I was about to walk towards the bus stop, but she stopped holding my hand.

“We don’t have time. Let’s go in your car.” She said and dragged me towards the parking lot in the apartment.

“Please have a seat.” I said, opening the passenger door.

“Hurry!” She said and I too got inside.

We reached the company and rushed inside, ignoring the looks given by the remaining employees.

When we reached the conference hall, we saw that the clients were just about to enter the hall.

“I am so sorry Sir to bring you outside the hall for the small matter. It will not happen again.” Jiya suddenly said little loudly and gestured for me to go on with it using her eyes.

“It’s ok, Ms.Sarin. No harm done.” I said, and we walked inside fully knowing the clients heard us.

The meeting went smoothly and at the end, they calmly said they will contact us after some time, but one of the members of the client started passing comments to Jiya.

“You are such a wonderful secretary. I wish you were working for us.” He said winking at her.

I was about to hit him, but stopped seeing Jiya smiling at him, and I frowned not at all feeling well.

“I will definitely work for you, Sir when you start looking for brains in the secretary than anything else.” She said, and I coughed to stop myself from laughing but other clients couldn’t stop and burst out laughing.

“We will give you a call.” They said after controlling their laughter and walked outside.

“I am proud of you Mrs.Mehra.” I said side hugging her.

“Someone will see.” She said, pushing away and added, “He deserved that. Normal, healthy flirting is okay, but creepy looks and creepy flirting is a no no.”

“What is healthy flirting?” I asked her standing before her.

“Ok! Now watch carefully.” She replied and slowly walked towards me with a small smile and different look like a mischievous look.

“Shall we go for coffee Handsome?” She asked, trailing her finger on the table.

“Uh... um... yeah, sure.” I replied stuttering.

“This is healthy flirting or that’s what I think.” She said, shrugging and turned to walk away.

“What about coffee?” I asked her.

“I asked some handsome guy for coffee, and I don’t see one here.” She replied and walked outside.

I am not handsome? I thought and frowned. I walked outside the hall and walked directly near some girl beside Jiya.

“Am I not handsome?” I asked her.

“You are the most handsome man, I have ever seen Sir.” She replied, smiling at me like she won the lottery.

“Ha... see I know that.” I said, grinning and sent a pointed look towards Jiya, but she rolled her eyes and continued to work.

I walked inside the cabin and asked the helper to send two parcels of Tiffin and asked one to be sent to Ms.Jiya.

“What is this?” She asked, walking inside.

“Dosa.” I said, looking at the parcel in her hand.

“No...” She started to say, but I cut her off and said, “No? I will call him right now and scold him saying he sent the wrong one.”

“What I mean is, why did you buy it? I could have done it by myself.” She said, placing it on the table.

“Now what do you want me to do?” I asked her frowning.

“Eat it by yourself.” She replied shrugging.

“Fine!” I said, calling the helper and gave him the two parcels asking him to give them to someone else.

“What will you eat?” She asked frowning.

“Why do you care? Now go and buy food for yourself.” I replied and continued to do my work.

After some time, she returned with two parcels and placed one on my table clearing her throat.

“I can buy on my own.” I said not looking up at her.

“Look, just eat.” She said and sat in front of me.

“You will eat with me?” I asked, smiling at her.

“Yes!” She replied, and we both had our breakfast in silence.

“You really gave a good answer to him.” I said when we finished.

“I could have given him that cold look like I used to before, but now I am not getting it so I talked.” She said.

“That’s because your coldness has melted two weeks back.” I said smiling at her.

“Hmm... So does that mean I will be a good friend?” She asked frowning.

“Yes! So friends?” I asked her forwarding my hand happy that she wanted.

“Actually, I was asking for Raj. I didn’t think you will think like this.” She replied walking outside.

I sighed and continued my work. Even in lunch break I continued to do it neglecting my growling stomach. But in the end finally got up and asked the helper to bring some food for me.

I sat on the couch and had lunch alone like every day. Tomorrow and day-after tomorrow is again holidays, so she will be here at that time but until when.

She is normal with me like a flatmate from the past two weeks, and I don’t know will she be even more than a normal flat mate.

“What happened?” She asked when we are returning to our house.

“Nothing!” I replied mumbling.

“Ok!” she said, shrugging and we reached the house.

“It is not ok. What am I to you?” I asked her after closing the door.

She frowned gazing at me and then walked away just like that. I rubbed my forehead and followed her.

“Forget that I have even asked you.” I mumbled, standing behind her while she started cooking.

“Ok!” she said, shrugging and I immediately held her from behind.

“Shall we go somewhere tomorrow?” I asked her placing my chin on her shoulder.

“Hmm, we will see.” She replied and I nodded, walking away pressing a small kiss to her head.

Just five months more I considered while laying on the bed after dinner. I glanced at her and saw that she is sleeping peacefully. I closed my eyes and drifted off into sleep.
