Chapter 13: Chapter 13

*Navya Pov*

I sighed and then sighed and only sighed. I have been doing that for the past one hour. From morning onwards, I helped Aunty with the food and dusted the house a little.

Now it is evening, and I don’t have anything else to do. I want to go to one place, but I don’t know how to ask Aunty about that.

As for Suhas, he went to the branch he started here, but is going to wind it up and Aunty said about this.

“Are you getting bored? What will you do when he gets even busier when he returns to Mumbai as far as I know?” Aunty asked, sitting beside me and gave me a cup of coffee.

“I actually don’t have any idea. What will I do.? I replied smiling at her.

“What do you do normally the whole day, Aunty?” I asked her curiously.

“After the work is over in here I just go to one orphanage and spend time there. It is “Jyothi Orphanage." I am sure you must have heard about it.” she replied looking at me.

“Hey, what a coincidence, Aunty. I spend all my weekends there, but not for much time.” I said excitingly.

“But I never saw you.” I added mumbling.

“Maybe for staying mostly in the ward of small babies.” she said and immediately closed her eyes.

“How do you know that?” I asked her shocked.

“Well, I never saw you right, so that means you stay at the place where I never go. And I never go to that ward so...” she replied.

“I wish we stay here itself so that we can visit the orphanage together from this day forwards. Otherwise, I don’t know what else to do with all this free time.” I said sighing.

“Well, you could start telling him slowly that you were being getting too much bored, and he can’t just work like that continuously.” She said shrugging.

“Er… I don’t think that is such a good idea Aunty. Please don’t mind me, but I think I will be fine. And you will also be there with me right, so I will be ok. I don’t want to disturb his working schedule.” I said slowly and waited for her reaction, but she just looked at me.

After waiting for a few more minutes I turned away thinking maybe there is nothing to tell by her.

In the evening, he returned a little early compared to the past one month as said by Aunty. I followed him to our room when he signaled me.

“We are going to leave for Mumbai tomorrow itself.” He said removing his coat.

“What? But isn’t it so soon? I mean we didn’t pack anything.” I said and still continued to find any reasons to stop it.

“We just need to pack our clothes, and that’s it. I will go and tell Mom about this.” he said and walked towards the door.

“And I thought you would want to spend some time with your family right, so I decided to take you there.” he added before leaving the room.

I immediately got excited and got ready. After a few minutes, I went downstairs and saw that he is waiting for me.

Aunty is looking at me with a blank expression. Now I can tell where he got even that from. Then I thought what he got from his dad.

I again forgot to ask him about his dad. Today I will do it! I thought and walked with him towards the car.

After a few minutes, I chanted what should I ask again in my mind and asked, “Hey! Where is your dad?”

He suddenly stopped the car making us jerk a little, and I was looking at him wide eyed. He calmly started driving again and parked near a park.

“You are kidding me, right?” he asked, raising both eyebrows.

“No! I am sorry that, I asked you this. I was just wondering why I didn’t see him at all. Is he out of town?” I asked him nervously and thinking why did he even stop the car like that few minutes back in the middle of the road.

“You mean… you really don’t know about him?” he asked in a whisper.

I shook my head and asked, “Why are you reacting like this?”

“Nothing! And about him don’t ask me anything again.” He replied with a blank face.

I nodded and asked, “Does Kavya knows about him?”

He didn’t reply, but looked outside for a few minutes. In the meantime, I tried to control my fast beating heart.

“Yeah! She knows everything. Even your dad and mom know too. I will tell you one thing, and I really hope you will not feel bad after knowing that.” he said looking at me, and I nodded at me.

“I loved your sister Kavya and wanted to marry her two years back.” He said making me gasp because I don’t know this at all.

“Does she know this?” I asked him a few minutes later mumbling.

“Yeah! Everyone knows about this as I even came there and asked for her hand.” He replied and held the car seat tightly in my hands.

“They didn’t let you?” I asked him confused.

He shook his head so again, I choked out the next question asking “Why did they not accept you?”

“I don’t know! I don’t want to hide this, so I am telling you this.” He replied.

“Do you still love her?” I asked him when he started the car.

All the reply I got is the silent drive to my house…

*Suhas Pov*

When I stopped in front of her house, I saw that she is just looking out of the window with a sad little face. I hope this will be enough for today’s event.

“Navya! We are here.” I said, and she nodded her head.

We both walked towards the door and rang the bell. The door is opened by Kavya, which is not at all surprise for me. I chose today as I know that they will be there.

When I looked at Kavya, I saw that she is looking beautiful as usual with her wonderful smile, but it is nothing compared to Navya’s. I thought and immediately stopped in my tracks when I realized what I just thought.

“Come inside!” Kavya said, bringing me out of my thoughts.

I went inside along with Navya and saw that they all are smiling at me normally except of course the one. Actually, there is another different thing that is happening and that is, he is not even glaring at me. He just seems like he is lost in his own thoughts.

They all hugged Navya one by one, but she just hugged them mildly. I can clearly see that she is not at all here, and she doesn’t even have a smile on her face.

Nonetheless, they didn’t observe this at all and continued to talk to her and me. She silently walked towards Rajeev and hugged him. When she did that he finally came out of his thoughts and hugged her back.

They both started talking to each other with slight smiles, but not real ones. I can understand why is Navya behaving like this, but what happened to Rajeev?

I shrugged, and we all sat at the dining table. Navya didn’t say any word to me or her family except Rajeev, and this is what I want.

I want these people to be let down in the eyes of their “Heart of the family” and then they live their lives without her in theirs completely. When she distances herself, I always thought they would get sad and feel how I felt to stay away from my mom and how my mom felt to stay away from me.

But here the result is the complete opposite as they didn’t care whether she is distant from them. They didn’t even care that she is not smiling at present.

I thought they would be sad when they get to know that she is shifting to Mumbai completely with me, but they didn’t even now.

As much, as I get to know Navya, I am sure that she is actually not angry at me or with her parents, but she is just thinking our conversation in the car repeatedly.

“Navya! You left some of your things here in your room. If you want to go and pack them.” Her mom said, and Navya got up nodding at her.

When she left the room completely and walked towards the steps, I stopped my fake smile from appearing. Then I looked at them to see those three fake smiles to disappear, but they didn’t at all.

“Aren’t you guys still angry at me or did you accept me into the family?” I asked them sarcastically.

“You wish!” Rajeev spat at me.

“Rajeev! He is a part of the family. And Suhas we are happy that you decided to bring her here before leaving for Mumbai.” Kavya said like she is greatfull to me.

What the hell? Are they even her real family? And Kavya I always thought she is the most caring person in the world.

Nevertheless, now they are not even caring that she must be hurt, which can be known very easily by looking at her face.

“So you all are forgetting that I married her by blackmailing you all.” I stated by looking at their expressions.

“Yeah! Now you both are married so what is there to do or think something else.” Her father said.

I fisted my hands and looked at Kavya. She knows something more than the remaining. She knows my plan, but still she is smiling like that.

Does she care for Navya? Do they care about her? I thought looking at them frowning.

“Do you remember our conversation Kavya?” I asked her directly.

She immediately tensed, and her parents looked straight at her confused. Rajeev left the house saying he will come after a few minutes as he has some work. She sighed and said something which I never expected from her.

“As my dad said she is now married to you. Even though you have other plans for her, she is your wife in the end, and we can’t do anything to change it. So I decided to forget that conversation.” She said, and I feel so disgusted her way of thinking.

Is she the girl whom I loved? Maybe she changed in these two years. That must be the reason. I again looked straight at three of them and said, “If you all are acting like this so that I will reduce the torture for her, then you guys are totally wrong in that matter. I will worsen it even more.”

Her mom sighed and said, “We will just pray that you don’t. I am sure after the struggles you will cause her she will be finally happy later.”

“You guys are not her family at all.” I said, getting up and walked towards the stairs.

“Thank god! Someone else is agreeing with me.” I heard Rajeev saying from the door.

“Yeah! I never thought she would be this much less important for them.” I said shaking my head.

“I too don’t know until you started your revenge.” Rajeev said.

We both just stood there not knowing what else to say and then heard footsteps from the stairs.

“Take care of her and stop your plan.” he mumbled glaring at me. I didn’t say anything to him.

I took the bag from her hand and waited for her to bid her ‘bye’. When I left her house and looked at Kavya she suddenly looked like a very plain girl with nothing specialty in her.

I silently got inside my car, and Navya as well followed my suit. After I started driving and saw that she is just looking outside the window, I cleared my throat.

Then she glanced at me with a questioning look. I again cleared my throat and said, “No!”

“What?” she asked, frowning.

“I don’t love her anymore.” I replied, feeling the same inside too.

“Even if you still love her, I can’t do anything to change it.” she said and again looked outside the window.

Do I really don’t at least like Kavya anymore? Is she finally mad at me?
