Chapter 2215: Chapter 2215
A heavy thud, as if something weighty had fallen onto the hardwood floor.
So, is there someone upstairs?
Skye Brown raised her eyes to look at the pitch-black staircase entrance.
In the night, only the faint lights from the mountain’s base and the weak glow along the villa’s path outside could be seen.
This dark and heavy villa hadn’t a single light turned on this evening, making it appear deserted.
Skye Brown furrowed her delicate brows, baffled as to why someone at home wouldn’t turn on the lights.
But... she didn’t have time to ponder it further now.
Skye Brown wasn’t a timid woman. Her curiosity drove her, hesitating only for a moment.
She softened her steps, climbing the villa’s spiral staircase quietly, step by step.
Having lingered in the darkness for a while, her eyes had adjusted to the villa’s dim light.
Even though it was not as clear as when illuminated, she could vaguely discern the general outlines of the furniture.
So, when Skye Brown reached the top of the staircase on the second floor, she immediately saw, at the bedroom door to the left, a tall figure standing.
The man’s physique was incredibly tall and imposing, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, clad in a loose bathrobe.
A pair of long, powerful legs revealed through the bathrobe’s slit, emanating a heart-pounding impact even in the darkness.
Skye Brown gasped, quickly covered her mouth, and squatted down.
This was a completely unconscious gesture, instinctively using the dark to hide, not wanting Dylan Wellington to see her.
She hadn’t expected that she’d encounter Dylan Wellington immediately upon coming upstairs.
Uncertain of how much Dylan Wellington could see in the dark, unsure if he had adapted as she had to vaguely discern each other’s outlines.
Thus, Skye Brown chose to retreat immediately, avoiding a head-on collision with Dylan Wellington.
However, her visit was meant to confront Dylan Wellington and ask him to see Molly Lewis.
Why did she instinctively choose to hide upon seeing him?
Skye Brown found herself somewhat ridiculous at this thought, readying herself to rise.
But she realized Dylan Wellington, dressed in the bathrobe, seemingly hadn’t noticed her.
He bent over in the darkness, picking up a small trinket he’d knocked over earlier.
Skye Brown now noticed it was likely due to the lack of lighting that Dylan Wellington had knocked over a trinket from the display stand in the corridor.
This was a minor incident, one Skye Brown paid little mind to.
Now, she felt rather anxious, unexpectedly facing Dylan Wellington with such ease, contemplating how she should speak to him.
Dylan Wellington’s relationship with her was now described as on edge.
There was no emotion left between them.
Thus, Skye Brown felt apprehensive towards Dylan Wellington—anxious about how she could convince this cold-hearted man to agree to meet Molly Lewis.
As Skye Brown fretted, Dylan Wellington had already placed the trinket back and was heading straight towards her.
It seemed Dylan Wellington intended to go downstairs!!!
Skye Brown was now alarmed, crouching at the staircase entrance; even if Dylan Wellington couldn’t see her clearly, he was approaching.
At such close proximity, even a blind person should notice her!
She didn’t want to be embarrassed, not wanting to be mistaken as a thief in front of Dylan Wellington.
Without hesitating, Skye Brown suddenly stood up.
