Chapter 2208: Chapter 2208
"Dyl..." Skye Brown’s voice was a bit hoarse; she didn’t expect the call to be picked up so quickly.
Back when she abruptly escaped from the marriage, although she didn’t feel she did anything wrong, the sudden sound of Dylan Wellington’s voice still made her heart throb with a faint pain.
She instinctively took a breath, ready to adjust her breathing to explain her intentions to Dylan Wellington.
Over the phone, a deep, husky voice from Dylan Wellington was heard.
"Baby, don’t make a fuss... be good, I’ll give it to you once I finish the call..."
The lazy, magnetic voice carried Dylan Wellington’s usual seductive charm.
His tone was low yet tender; it was obvious he was speaking to a woman beside him.
The flirtatious and teasing words came through the phone speaker without warning, heavily striking Skye Brown’s eardrums.
"Are you... busy? Sorry, I’ll call another day."
Realizing she might be interrupting Dylan Wellington’s ’good time,’ Skye Brown didn’t think much before instinctively wanting to hang up.
She and Dylan Wellington, now, apart from being parents to two children, didn’t have any other relationship.
Towards Dylan Wellington being with other women or doing something with other women, besides instinctively feeling ridiculous and a faint pain in her heart...
The next moment, she quickly armed herself with indifference and oblivion.
If he’s busy, she’ll just look for him another day.
Having not seen or contacted him for nearly ten months, she knew long ago she shouldn’t worry if he’s doing well or not.
He is Dylan Wellington, the playboy, Mr. Wellington; whoever isn’t doing well, he certainly will be.
As Skye Brown was about to hang up, Dylan Wellington’s voice, devoid of warmth, casually drifted over: "No need to call another day, I’m very busy; I don’t have time to waste on irrelevant matters. Skye Brown, you’d best be brief."
After he spoke, Skye Brown heard Dylan Wellington lower his voice, speaking to the woman beside him with a tone a hundred times gentler than when he spoke to her earlier.
"Baby, go to the bathroom first... be good, I’ll come over in a bit."
Is this to take a couple’s bath?
Clearly, she no longer harbors any expectations for Dylan Wellington.
Clearly, she knows, even if he once said ’I love you’—but the grand words of Mr. Wellington never counted.
Clearly knowing all this, her heart no longer would flutter for this man.
Yet, Skye Brown’s hand holding the phone still involuntarily tightened.
"Alright, I will be brief, not to waste Mr. Wellington’s time." Skye Brown quickly regained her voice, speaking in a calm tone.
"I called you to resolve the grievances between us. Mr. Wellington, we are both adults now... Whatever happened in the past, after all this time, you and I should let go. Molly Lewis... she’s still young; whatever grievances between us adults should not involve the child."
"Molly really misses you; she wants to see you. I’ve thought about it... if possible, we can co-parent Molly in the future. Every year during winter and summer vacations, she can go to the Wellington family to see you and the elders there. Additionally, any other time you want, you can visit her."
"It’s not just Molly... do you still remember over half a year ago, before I left, the baby I wanted to abort?"
Skye Brown said this all in one breath, finally pausing.
She was afraid she wouldn’t be able to say it out, afraid she’d selfishly want to hide the children, so once she started, she wasn’t planning to stop.
Until she mentioned Allen, she finally took a breath.
"I didn’t abort the baby; he... was born smoothly. He is named Allen, a boy. If you are willing to give him fatherly love, I can register the child under the Wellington family’s civil registry..."
"Wait..." Dylan Wellington’s cold, deep voice interrupted Skye Brown from the other end of the phone.
