Chapter 56: Chapter 56
Sara smiled as she walked with Jason into the family room, her hand resting on her very pregnant belly.
"Hey!" Sage cheered, walking over to her sister.
Sara chuckled and hugged her sister, "How was Hawaii?"
"It was great! Little Samantha and Rose here, loved the beach. I couldn't get them to leave it." Sage sighed as she looked at her twin daughters.
Sara chuckled, "I can't wait till I have mine."
"How is Jason handling being a new father soon?" Sage asked.
Sara sighed as she watched Jason wrestle with Mason. She had a smile appear on her face as she remembered her announcing it to him.
"You're pregnant? This isn't a joke right? You're actually pregnant?" He asked, excitement in his eyes.
Sara chuckled and nodded, a wide grin on her face. "I'm actually pregnant, Jason."
He had tears of joy in his eyes as he pulled her into a hug. Sara laughed and had her own happy tears.
"I love you." He whispered.
She smiled, "I love you too."
"He's really excited, but nervous too." She smiled.
Sage grinned, "Well, that's expected."
"He's just finally happy to have a family again."
"He deserves it too. He's now relaxing around the other werewolves?"
"Yeah, he's joining the guard and actually made quite a few friends."
"I can't believe the Summit pack did that to him when he was younger though." Sage sighed.
"I know, but luckily we won't have to deal with that again."
Sage nodded, "So, he still didn't pop the question?"
"No, I actually did."
"What?"
"Shhhh, I'm going to tell mom and dad later. But it was cute, we both sort of did. He was so nervous and had it in his mind that I would say no. I finished the question for him and then said yes."
"About damn time, you've been dating for what? Five years now?"
"Yupp and now I'm pregnant with our first child. I'm really excited."
Sage smiled at her sister, "You should be."
Everyone looked over as a boy ran into the castle, terrified. He quickly hid behind Rosalie.
"Demetria is trying to throw a car at me!" He cried.
Sara frowned, "Is that the same boy she threw a sink at just a few years ago?"
Sage nodded with a sigh, "Yupp."
Demetria sprinted into the castle and glared at him, "You took my chocolate!"
"No, I didn't! I promise!" The boy cried.
Rosalie raised an eyebrow as Dimitri quietly walked into the castle, taking a bite of a chocolate bar. When his eyes connected with Rosalie's, he took off.
Rosalie smirked, "Actually, your dad just walked by with a chocolate bar."
Demetria's eyes widened, "FATHER! YOU ARE SO DEAD! I DON'T LIKE AHY OF MY STUFF TO BE TAKEN!"
"FATHER? Where the hell did that come from?" Dimitri yelled.
"Well, you did screw mommy and she gave birth to me, didn't she? You're my father!"
Rosalie groaned and pinched the bridge of her nose, "Just one child to be like me. Is that too much to ask for?"
"OFF WITH HIS HEAD!" Winter yelled as she ran into the room.
Rosalie sighed, "No, you are not cutting off your father's head. What did I tell you about using your father's methods as punishment for people stealing stuff and making your family angry?"
"Not to use them." Winter mumbled.
"Yes, now, go play." Rosalie sighed.
"Okay...OFF WITH HIS PENIS!"
Rosalie's eyes widened as she chased after her daughter. "WINTER, DO NOT CHOP OFF YOUR FATHER's DICK! WHERE DID THAT EVEN COME FROM?"
"You say it all the time, mom!" Sage yelled.
Elijah frowned as he sat on the couch, "What's a dick?"
Sage and Sara sighed, "Nothing."
"So, dad has nothing?"
"He has a penis." Jason sounded.
"Are we really having this discussion with him?" Mason asked.
Sage rolled her eyes as a phone started ringing, she quickly excused herself and answered it.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Hi, Princess Sage?"
"Yes?"
"This is Alpha Ryan, our territory was just attacked by skin-walkers. I was hoping we could stay in the castle until we can repair our packhouse?"
"Of course! What pack is this?"
"The Summit Pack."

Jason's past comes back with a vengeance. As he spirals into the darkness of depression, Dimitri decides to become a father figure to him and teach him a valuable lesson.

Sara groaned as she woke up to her stomach doing back flips, with the speed of a bullet, she sprinted into the bathroom. She collapsed in front of the toilet before vomiting into it. She relaxed slightly when she felt her fiancé' hands gently pulling her hair back and putting it into a ponytail. Once she was done, he flushed the toilet and wiped her mouth with a warm cloth.
"Come on." He said softly as he helped her up.
Sara groaned, "Being pregnant is both a gift and curse."
He chuckled, "Well, you're due in a month, so it's almost over."
She smiled at him, she stopped and brushed her teeth before following him back to bed. Jason tucked her in before crawling in and wrapping his arms around her. He nuzzled his face into her neck and breathed in her scent. He relaxed against her, quickly falling into a deep sleep.
The next morning he got up before her and decided to make her breakfast, feeling as if he still owes her. As he cooked her favorite meal, pancakes and eggs, he thought over the past few years. His mind drifted to when they had first met and his rather cruel plan. He still hated himself for what he had done to her after five years of being with her. He didn't deserve her, he knew he didn't, but he was too selfish to let her go. He smiled to himself, even if he told her he would, his stubborn mate would refuse.
Every day she wore their engagement ring proudly, showing it off whenever she got the chance. Jason sighed, his mother would be proud of him and would of loved her daughter-in-law. His father would of protected her like she was his own daughter, refusing to allow anyone to hurt her. But they weren't here to do any of that, a few tears pooled into his eyes.
I never got to say goodbye to them. He thought to himself.
He stiffened when someone wrapped their arms around his waist, when he felt the sparks, he relaxed.
"Hey, stranger." Sara whispered, kissing him on the cheek.
He smiled and turned to kiss her on the lips. "Morning, princess."
Sara sighed as she rested her head on his chest, "You were crying."
"Oh....I was just thinking of....them."
"Your parents would be so proud of you, you know that, right?" She asked, looking up st him.
He smiled down at her, "I know, I just miss them."
"I know."
During breakfast she sat on his lap, growling at any female who gave him one flirtatious look. They would quickly scurry out of the kitchen, she could practically see their tails between their legs.
Jason would only laugh and kiss her repeatedly, smirking whenever a female gave his mate a jealous look. He enjoyed making the men and women jealous of them, it made him feel lucky. He had managed to get the most beautiful girl as his mate.
"I love you." He whispered.
Sara smiled, "I love you too."
Sara and Jason looked up as Sage walked in with a frown and her eyes holding anger. Sara swallowed her bite of her pancakes, dread filled the pit of her stomach.
"The council said we can't force the Summit pack to live with another pack just because of Jason's past with them." Sage grumbled.
Sara frowned, "They still hate him because of what he is, don't they?"
Sage nodded, "I swear, Logan is the only one with a brain in there."
"It's fine, I'll be able to handle them." Jason assured them as he placed his fork down.
Sara frowned at him, "Jason, you could barely handle the wolves here when we first brought you back. The Summit pack is the reason for how you reacted to so many wolves."
"I know, but I'll just...ignore them and avoid them. I can fight my own battles."
Sara shook her head, "I know."
Jason watched silently as Sara and Sage ranted about the council. He can't handle the Summit pack, he knows what will happen. He'll freeze up, run away, or have a panic attack. But he didn't want to look weak in front of Sara, for all the crap she went through, she deserves a strong mate. And that's exactly what he planned on being.
After breakfast he decided to go and workout for a bit. Sara was going to spend time with her mom and new baby brother, Demetrius, anyway.
He ran his hand through his sweaty hair, his head started to ache with his constant worrying. The Summit pack's alpha, Ryan, is surely going to recognize him. He killed Ryan's father, he felt horrible for what he did. He wasn't any better than the men who killed his parents just because they hated skin-walkers. He killed Ryan's father because he hated him for throwing him into slavery.
"Hey, you alright?"
He looked up to see Dimitri walking into the gym, a frown on his face. Jason forced a smile and quickly nodded.
"Yeah, just thinking." He mumbled.
Dimitri raised an eyebrow, "You're panicking over the Summit pack coming here tomorrow."
It wasn't a question, it was a statement and both of them knew it was true. Jason sighed in defeat and nodded.
"I'm afraid of them." He whispered.
Dimitri sighed, "I have a close friend who went through abuse as a child. He was then tortured by his beta. It took some time for him to stop flinching just around his mate, but he got through it. So can you."
"Who was that?"
"Alpha Alaricas. He still flinches from someone every now and then, but him and the Luna are working on that. He also has a fear of monkeys...not really sure why though."
"I'm not the strong mate that Sara deserves." Jason whispered.
Dimitri frowned further, "What makes you think that?"
Jason shrugged, "A lot of things."
Dimitri sighed and clapped a hand on the young man's shoulder. Jason looked up at him with pained eyes.
"Sara doesn't need a strong mate, she needs a mate who will love her no matter what. That's what she deserves." Dimitri grinned before walking over to the weights.
"But what if she wants more than just that? What if I'm not good enough?" Jason questioned.
Dimitri smirked, "Well, kid, I'm going to teach you a valuable lesson within these next couple of weeks."
"And what's that?"
"You'll have to figure it out yourself."
