Chapter 54: Chapter 54

Sara continued crying until someone gently placed their hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Persephone smiling sadly at her, her own eyes were wet with unshed tears.

Sara smiled sadly before looking back at Jason.

"He looks peaceful.." She murmured.

Persephone sighed and knelt beside her, she stroked Jason's cheek. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she kissed him on the forehead.

"You love him." She stated.

Sara frowned as she looked at her, "I....I don't know..."

"You loved him before he left and you still love him now. He has done terrible things, but even your father sees the good in him. He loves you, he may not understand what he feels for you yet, but it's definitely love."

"All he needs is a chance to at least redeem himself." Persephone sighed.

Sara looked back at him. "He already did."

Persephone smiled at her before placing her hand over his heart. Green light surrounded it before it went into his chest.

Sara frowned at her, confusion swimming in her eyes. Persephone only winked at her, smiling.

Sara snapped her attention to Jason as he took a shaky breath. Her eyes widened with disbelief, she looked back at Persephone.

"Even though I am the goddess of spring and Queen of the underworld, I can still bring a few back to life. Not really my job, but who cares." She shrugged.

Sara gaped at her, "Wait, so he's..."

"He's a skin-walker with special abilities that he never uses. Iris uses her's though and is quite good at it."

Jason stirred a bit, he groaned in pain as he turned on to his side. Sara looked back down at him and smiled.

"I love him." She whispered.

Persephone grinned, "Protect him, love him, save him. He needs to heal and so do you. From the trauma of the last month. It'll take time, but just like how Rosalie healed your father and he healed her, you two will do the same."

Sara smiled at Persephone before looking back down as Jason's eyes fluttered open. He slowly looked up at Sara, his eyes wide and tired.

Sara smiled, "Hey."

He frowned, "H-hey."

She leaned down and kissed him on the lips, not caring about anything else. Jason was stunned for a little bit before he kissed her back. When they parted he had tears in his eyes.

"I-I s-sorry for what I-I did." He whispered before taking a shaky breath.

"There's no excuse for me. Wh-what I d-did was wrong and d-disgusting...I-I'm so sorry. I-I know sorry d-doesn't fix th-the scars but I-I'll try to m-make it u-up to you."

Sara ran her fingers through his hair, she thought over her decision. He has abused her, had taken advantage of her, but then he sacrificed his life for her father's life. She smiled, he had already made it up to her.

"I forgive you."

As Sara sat on the cliff with Jason laying against her chest, she listened to the war going on. She kept scanning the forest, ready to shift at any moment. When a howl of triumph echoed through the trees she grinned.

"Y-you g-guys won." Jason smiled.

She chuckled, "Yeah, we did."

Her arms tightened around him as Sage burst through the trees, her father following after.

"Please tell me you have pants on, dad." Sara said, her eyes wide.

Dimitri chuckled, "Of course I do. Here, I have a shirt for you and....you're holding a boy while you're naked."

Sage rolled her eyes, "Here we go again..."

Sara pinched the bridge of her nose as her father proceeded to scold her on touching a guy while she's butt naked.

"Dad! I'm going to stay naked if you don't give me the damn shirt!" Sara exclaimed.

Dimitri raised an eyebrow, "Do you have an attitude with me?"

"Yes." Sara replied stubbornly.

He sighed and threw the shirt over to her, "Jason, don't look at her tits."

Jason mumbled in reply as he started to slip into the darkness again. Sage gently grabbed Jason and rolled him into her lap, wincing when he groaned in pain. Sara quickly slipped her shirt on before grabbing Jason again.

"He needs the doctor." She stated.

Dimitri nodded, he walked over and picked the young man up. Sara and Sage followed closely as they walked back trough the forest.

"Uh, who was that alpha that made a surprise appearance?" Sage asked.

"That would be Alaricas. He always loved making dramatic entrances." Dimitri sighed with a roll of his eyes.

When they returned to their territory, Dimitri hurried to the infirmary. Sara kissed Jason on the cheek before he was taken away.

"Why don't you go and shower? He's going to be in there for a while." Dimitri suggested.

Sara nodded, "I need to tell Iris anyway."

Sara walked into her room to see Iris sitting in her bed, hugging her knees to her chest. When she noticed Sara she hopped out and ran over to her.

"Is he...is he okay?" She asked.

Sara smiled, "He's fine."

Iris sighed in relief before hugging her, "Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Sara quickly showered and got dressed, she then gently took Iris' hand and lead her to the infirmary. They both took their seats, silently praying that he would be okay. But Sara already knew he would be, he wasn't what she called weak.

Hours passed before the doctor walked out, searching for Sara. She immediately stood up and walked over to the doctor with fearful eyes.

The doctor smiled, "He's going to be fine. Most of the infection was already gone, so, we cleaned out his wound and stitched it up. He's awake right now and has been asking for you. He's also terrified of werewolves he doesn't know."

Sara thanked her before following her to Jason's room. When she walked in he was curled up at the edge of the hospital bed, his eyes wide and filled to the brim with fear.

Sara hurried over to him and cupped his cheek, "Hey, you're okay."

"Th-they won't kill me? Or make me a slave?" He whispered.

Sara's heart broke as she saw the terror in his face. She gently placed a kiss on his cheek.

"No, they won't." She assured him.

Sara stayed beside Jason as he slept, his arms were wrapped around her and his head was resting on her stomach. She smiled at him, she couldn't believe she loved a skin-walker. Not only that, but loved him over her own mate. Then again, her mate cheated on her multiple times.

She sighed, running her fingers through his hair, she thought over their relationship. She was relieved her father didn't hate his guts, that would of been a huge issue.

"So, this is your new mate?"

She looked up to see Andrew leaning against the door frame, glaring at the sleeping Jason. She rolled her eyes at him, not in the mood for his issues.

"Yes." She stated firmly.

He clenched his jaw, "He abused you and raped you."

"Yes, but sacrificed his life for my father's. He betrayed his whole race to save my father because he didn't want to cause me anymore pain. He did more than enough to redeem himself."

"But how could you stay with a disgusting mutt?" He seethed.

Sara laughed, "I'm not staying with a disgusting mutt. You're right there. I'm with a true man."

Sara held back her smirk when she saw her father walk up and stand behind Andrew.

"I am not mutt! He hurt you!" Andrew snarled.

"He then stopped and stopped the pain, but you? You kept on cheating. You continued having sex with other women and I could feel it. It hurt like hell. My sister would try her hardest to comfort me. And when I told you, it meant nothing. You're the mutt here, Andrew, not him." She snapped.

"Your father surely doesn't approve of this. If he does then he's a dumbass. And you're disgusting for staying with the same man who almost killed your father!"

Dimitri chuckled, his eyes cold as Andrew froze. (A/N: and at this moment...he knew....he fucked up.)

"He didn't almost kill me, pissed me off, yes. But I was nowhere close to death. He let me go, he changed his ways because he loves my daughter. He did have his fair share of cheap whores, but he stopped seeing all females and started freeing me. He made sure I was strong enough before he freed me. He then distracted the skin-walkers as I ran away."

"And he died for a little while, but came back. That is a true man. He realized his mistakes and apologized for them and did everything he could to make up for it. Yet...you....you continued to hurt my daughter." He growled.

Andrew gulped as he turned around, he took a step back when he saw Dimitri's black eyes.

"I-I..." He couldn't form any words.

Dimitri took a threatening step towards him, "You should know....one thing."

"Wh-what?"

"I don't like anyone hurting my family or insulting me."
