Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Dimitri sighed as he ran his hand through his hair, his head aching from the paperwork in front of him. Every now and then he would glance at Rosalie's sleeping form, making sure she was alright. Other times he would deal with his lunatic of a brother laying on the couch in the room, singing random songs. He chuckled as Xavier continued to sing songs, shaking his head.

"What kind of medicine did they give you?" He asked, turning to face his brother.

Xavier raised an eyebrow before shrugging, "Don't know, but I think it's starting to wear off. Ya know, you should take Rosalie on a date when she's healed."

Dimitri frowned at him, his mind blank of what to do or say to that. After hearing no answer from his brother, Xavier turned and looked at him.

"I see the way you look at her and care for her. You haven't looked at a woman like that since Christine. It's time for you to start dating again, Rosie is perfect for that." He explained.

Dimitri shook his head, "I don't want to hurt her."

"And how would you hurt her?"

"I can't love her like I loved Christine."

Xavier smiled softly at his brother, "What was between you and Christine was simply attraction. Christine was only in it for the money and power, once she found someone else she left you. She disowned her children. Rosie is better than Christine. She's stunning, how can you not want her?"

"I do want her, but..."

"But what?"

"But what if I'm not enough? I wasn't enough for my own mate, it's obvious I'm doing something wrong." Dimitri sighed.

Xavier frowned at him, "You did nothing wrong. You treated Christine like a queen and she took it for granted. No one will ever be good enough for that bitch, you know that. I can tell Rosalie is different. She's good for you."

Dimitri looked back at the sleeping she-wolf, her beauty took his breath away each time he looked at her. He couldn't deny that he was attracted to her, maybe even more than he was to Christine. He bit his lip, he wanted to get to know her. They both went through bad breakups with their mates and both had their mates cheating on them. She understands him, she doesn't beg him for sex or the Luna title, she doesn't ask him for anything besides help walking across the room. He titled his head, she even protected his daughters and didn't ask for anything in return. He smiled softly, an idea forming in his head.

One date can't do anything.

It wasn't until two hours later that Rosalie woke up, when he saw her eyes open he sat up and grinned at her. She smiled at him before yawning and sitting up, with his help.

"When am I going to be released?" She asked, getting sick of the hospital feel.

Dimitri chuckled, "The doctor is going to check on you in the morning. If you're healed, she'll let you go."

Rosalie nodded and sighed, she stared at the ceiling, thinking of her old pack. She was the Luna of the pack, daughter of the pack's previous alphas. She abandoned them, but they had abandoned her first. All they did was bully her, treat her like garbage because of some lie her not so lovely mate created. She knew eventually they would search for her, with or without Cyrus' permission. He wasn't the true alpha of the pack after all. The pack will eventually want their original alpha back, they watched her grow up. They loved her family and her, they did everything for her.

She sighed, she couldn't go back though. Not when her mate is still

Alpha and when she left on bad terms. She left the pack believing she hated them, but in all honesty she didn't. She couldn't. She was disappointed in them though, as a pack who knew her well they should of known Cyrus was lying.

"You okay?"

She looked over to see Dimitri giving her a concerned look. She smiled softly at him, briefly wondering why he couldn't be her mate. "Just thinking of my pack."

"You miss them?" He asked.

She shook her head, "Just wondering how they're doing with...Cyrus as their alpha."

"Wait, you were Cyrus' mate?"

Rosalie nodded, "Yeah, unfortunately. He decided I wasn't good enough and moved onto a different girl. You'd think he would stay faithful to me, his mate."

Dimitri frowned at her, "I know all too well on how that feels. My mate ended up cheating on me, then left with him after rejecting me and disowning her own daughters."

Rosalie stared at him, stunned. "She did that? Why?"

"The hell I know, should have seen it coming. No one was ever good enough for her." He sighed, frustrated.

A/N: I know, he explained this twice. I forgot and yeah...when I edit the book I'll fix it. :)

She smiled softly at him, "You'll fall in love again, some day. I know I will, eventually."

He shook his head, "Question is, how?"

She chuckled, "No, I think the real question is, will you let yourself fall in love again?"

A/N: Sort of rushed, I'm writing it while in class lol

Yes, I know he told her what happened between him and Christine again. I just forgot lol

"Stop that." Rosalie mumbled as she followed Dimitri down the hall.

"Stop what?" He asked, smirking.

"Stop popping your gum, it's irritating."

"Oh...you mean...like this?" He questioned as he popped it again.

She sighed, shaking her head as she tried fighting her own grin. She was amused by the stunned looks of his pack members. She had no idea why they seemed so shocked, but she assumed it was because he allowed a rogue to live. After hearing about all the rumors revolving around the alpha had her slightly afraid of him, but that was before she met him. She smiled as she watched him continue walking, sporting a wide grin. This wasn't the cruel and heartless alpha she pictured, this was someone completely different.

"So...would you like to...uh.."

She raised an eyebrow at Dimitri as he struggled to form the words. She chuckled as he walked backwards, giving her a lazy smile.

"Would you want to...uh....go out to dinner tonight?" He murmured, blushing a little.

She chuckled, "I would love to."

He smiled and turned back around, "Good."

"Good?" She mused, laughing.

He smirked as he glanced at her, "Yes, good. I was uh....hoping you would say yes."

She smiled at him, without even thinking she leaned up and kissed him on the cheek. She fought off her blush as his eyes widened and landed on her.

"That's the best thank you I can give." She whispered, suddenly feeling shy.

He smiled softly at her, "You're welcome."

When they reached the packhouse Dimitri made sure none of the males flirted with her and that the jealous she-wolves respected her. He hated whenever a new female showed up they would attack her like she was the enemy. He didn't understand why they thought he would bang the new chick of the pack, he's never done it before. Not even when he was a teenager in high school, his first time was with Christine. He was raised to respect women and to not whore around with multiple girls.

He placed his hand on the small of her back, guiding her through the halls. Rosalie gave curious glanced towards any she-wolf who glared at her, amused by the fact they think the alpha is choosing her or something. When they reached her room she realized it was only a door down from Dimitri's.

"Why am I in the Alpha hall?" She asked, following him into the room.

"Well, you are an alpha, you have power radiating off of you." He explained. "Rogue or not, alphas stay in this hall."

"Huh, well, that's different. We usually put rogues either in the dungeon or in the guest hall." She replied, sitting on the bed.

"Well, it's not exactly normal for an alpha to be a rogue." He pointed out, smirking.

She pursed her lips, "Touché."

After he explained everything to her he left to go to a meeting. Leaving the beyond curious she-wolf alone in her room. She was hesitant to leave the safety of the room, but eventually decided she shouldn't be a coward. She slowly opened her door and poked her head out, scanning the hall.

She relaxed a bit when she saw it was empty of people. Releasing a sigh of relief she stepped out, allowing the door to close behind her. She quietly walked along the hall, retracing her and Dimitri's steps. Once she reached the stairs and slowly walked down them, feeling nervous.

She was usually a confident wolf, but being an alpha in a pack besides your own isn't exactly comforting. Although she felt weird about admitting it, she felt much safer with Dimitri by her side. She walked into the large kitchen to see three women around her age talking. Once they noticed her glares immediately rested on their faces.

Rosalie clasped her hands together and walked over to the cabinets, searching for the glasses.

"Who the hell are you?"

She spun around to see another woman glaring at her, jealousy evident in her black eyes.

"A visitor." She lied, frowning at the woman.

The woman scoffed, "If you're a visitor why aren't you staying in the guest hall?"

Rosalie smirked, "Alpha visitors don't usually stay in the guest hall. I'm assuming you know that."

Rosalie wasn't the one to throw her status around, but she wanted to make sure these women respected her when Dimitri wasn't around. She didn't want to be looked at as his sex toy or an intruder. Even though she was technically an intruder, being a rogue and all.

All four women stared at her with shock, she only continued to smirk and search for a glass again. The woman swallowed and bit her lip.

"Glasses are in the cabinet on your right." she said softly.

Rosalie thanked her before swinging the cabinet door open, grinning as she grabbed a glass. "So, why are you here anyway?" the woman asked.

She sighed, "To escape my unfaithful mate."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have-

"It's fine, really, he deserves to have everyone know that he's a cheating bastard." Rosalie sighed, filling the glass with water.

"Are you going to go back to him?"

Rosalie frowned, it didn't take long for her to come up with the answer.

"No. I'm never going back to him. He's dead to me."

A/N: Who's ready for their date?
