Chapter 46: Chapter 46

Flashback Contd…

I sneaked a glance at Theodore who was looking no less than a predator. If looks can kill, I would have been six feet under now. But I need to act smart or they wouldn’t wait for a second to behead me.

Mustering up some courage, I pushed George with all my force making him land on the floor. He looked at me in shock as he was caught off guard. I then stood up on my feet and shouted at the top of my lungs.

“IS THIS THE WAY THEO DYNASTY TREATS WOMEN? WHAT IF I AM AT FAULT BUT DOES THAT GIVE YOU OR YOUR YOUNGER BROTHER TO MANHANDLE ME AND HUMILIATE ME IN THE COURT OF JUSTICE JUST BECAUSE I ENTER A PLACE WHICH WAS FORBIDDEN!!”

Tears kept embracing my cheek but I made no attempt to wipe them and kept glaring at the man of dreams with accusatory eyes. I then shifted my eyes towards my in-laws whose faces reflected discomfort and guilt. My response turned left them tongue-tied and I knew that they were ashamed to face me. Christina was also crying along with me while Christian threw me a sympathetic look.

But unfazed by everyone’s feelings, Theodore stood up from his bejeweled throne in rage and glowered at me, “YOU SHAMELESS WOMAN!! YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO TALK BACK TO ME AFTER COMMITTING SUCH A BIG CRIME!! You know very well that I despise you but you leave no chances to make me mad. Tell me the purpose of visiting the third floor and don’t you dare shove me any stupid reasons that you went there out of curiosity?” He hollered turning me silent.

To be honest he voiced out my thoughts. Guess, I should come up with a different idea.

After thinking for a while, I strung words in my head and answered him, “I-I was curious to see those three weapons. I know it’s forbidden but as your wife and Queen of Theo Dynasty, I have equal rights to look into the matters that concern the well-being and safety of the kingdom.”

I spoke confidently making him shocked. Not only he but the others also gasped as they didn’t expect that I would bring my Queen card here.

To strengthen my words, I crossed my arms over my chest and shot everyone a daring look, “What? Why are you all so surprised? It’s my right to know every damn thing about my kingdom. It doesn’t matter whether you consider me your wife or not but you have no right to keep me in dark. Moreover, we married in front of the Almighty. We both are tied with the sacred bond and no matter how hard you try; you can’t run away from the fact that I am your lawful and rightful wife.”

I emphasized the last word and looked at Theodore’s ashen face. He was shaking in anger. Enraged, he marched towards me like a predator but was stopped by my two saviors.

“She is right Theo.”

Theodore turned behind and looked at Christian in shock who was staring at him sternly.

“What do you mean? You do know that only the King is allowed to enter there and-”

Christina cut him off while throwing him an annoyed look, “Stop it Theo. She only went there. Why are you dragging this matter so much? I agree Jasmine ignored my warning but what about George? He should also be punished then,” she said and glared at George who turned pale with her reply.

“I-I was only following her,” he was still stuck on his pathetic excuse-making me roll my eyes.

“Yeah so, it makes you equally guilty,” I replied and shrugged my shoulders. Looking away from his murderous eyes, I shifted my eyes back to Theodore.

“I am ready to accept the punishment but my Lord, I demand justice. George should be punished too.”

End of Flashback

A chuckle escaped my lips when I recalled George’s crying face. As we admitted our faults in front of everyone so Lord Ernest has to punish us. Theodore granted us a soft punishment as his brother was also involved. We both were confined to our rooms and weren’t allowed to talk to anyone or step out of our doors for a week.

George instantly rejected this punishment so Reina reduced it to two days. Unknowingly my enemy turned out my savior today. I snorted when Theodore’s defeated face flashed in front of my eyes.

Good for him, what did he think that I would let him walk over me?

I clutched the necklace between my fingers and smiled. Zachary is right. I have always been bold and fierce. I ain’t like Rose or Diana. I am obsessed with Theodore; I don’t believe in love. I don’t take things; I believe in snatching what catches my eye. I believe in power, wealth, and dominance, not in sacrifice and submission.

I have inherited these qualities since childhood. I used to give Rose a hard time controlling me. Suddenly a vague memory of my childhood struck my mind. It was the day when Rose raised her hand on me for the very first time. She was tired of my behavior and slapped me hard. Though I was only nine years old at that time, her words are still fresh in my mind.

“You aren’t a demon; you are an Angel for Lord’s sake.”

A loud sigh left my lips. My behavior sometimes surprises me even. Why am I like this? I am an Angel, not a Devil that I love taking things into my control.

My eyes widened when an idea popped into my mind.

What if I change myself to Diana? Like the way she behaves and dresses, will Theodore see me differently?

‘But why the fuck will you appease him by impersonating another woman?’, My conscience barked.

That’s also right.

“Ahh!! Everything is so fucked up. I should take a rest now. Today’s activities had taken a toll on my sanity making me blabber hogwash. Let’s sleep, Jasmine. I had to do a lot of work tomorrow.”

With that thought in my mind, I pulled the duvets over me, and in no time, I drifted into dreamland.

End of Jasmine’s P.O.V.

A tall figure who was hiding behind the bookshelf the whole time kept watching the Princess. He waited for her breath to get steadied. Once he was confirmed that she had fallen asleep, only then did he come out of his hideout and tower over the frail figure who was sleeping without any care in the world.

With a disheveled appearance, tousled hair, and bloodshot eyes, he stared at Jasmine with a crazed look in his eyes.

“So, I was right. You have been sent here by Zachary, bitch.” George seethed with pure hatred. He then bent down to her level. Placing his palm on the mattress, he leaned towards her angelic face and stared at it for the longest time.

“After snatching my peace, how can you sleep so peacefully?”, He spoke with gnashed teeth. He was the most pampered kid in the royal household but because of Jasmine, he was scolded and the worst, punished. That made a big dent in his ego. Grinding his molars in rage, he removed the bayonet tucked in his belt and raised his hand, ready to strangle her suddenly a blinding beam struck his face making his eyes dazzled. George immediately moved back and covered his eyes.

“What the fuck?”

Rubbing his eyes, he slowly opened them and the first thing he saw was a shining pendant on her neck. He let out a grunt while remembering the conversation between Zachary and Jasmine.

No sooner they both were punished than George sneakily hid in Jasmine’s room and was watching her the whole time.

“You’ve fooled us enough. I would have let go of this matter only if you wouldn’t have messed with me. And now you need to pay the consequences.” He spoke maniacally. Putting his bayonet back and sparing her a last glance, he quietly exited her room.

George entered his room and bolted the door. He then walked towards the window and stared outside with blank eyes.

Suddenly he felt a presence behind him. The corner of his lips curved up when his eyes collided with the purple ones that were visible from the glass pane of the window.

“You called me?”

George nodded and turned around. The smirk was instantly dropped off his face as he stared at the mesmerizing purple orbs that were staring at him with amusement.

“I need you to do something for me, Kiora.”
