Chapter 35: Chapter 35
“Who told you to play so much?”, Zachary chided Diana while massaging her soles as she cried on his lap. Diana was completely off the hook today. Jumping from one spot to another, she was successful in annoying Zachary who had a hard time controlling her.
Diana rested her head on his chest and whined as her legs ached a lot. Zachary pulled her closer and massaged her legs thoroughly. She wrapped her arms around his neck and closed her eyes. Her tensed muscles relaxed when he pressed her pressure points and massaged her ankles gently.
“You are so stubborn,” he said and shook his head in disappointment.
Diana punched his chest, “It’s not my fault. It’s all because of your damn stilettos. I don’t like wearing such high heels but you tore away my dress,” she grumbled while slapping his hands away and jumped off his lap.
Zachary narrowed his eyes at her, “First of all you hurting your legs has nothing to with me tearing your dress. Secondly, you took off the heels the moment we entered Celestial Meadows. Stop blaming me for everything and come here,” he scolded her and gripped her left forearm pulling her back on his lap. Diana started struggling in his hold.
“No, I don’t want to. You love controlling me. I am a free soul. I can’t live like a caged bird. I don’t like you dominating me,” she argued while flailing her arms in all directions.
Zachary growled and gripped her forearms tightly. A yelp escaped her mouth when her bosoms got flushed against his hard chest. Diana looked up and shot him a glare but her eyes widened when she saw his irises changing color.
“Stop talking nonsense. You have no idea what controlling means and I am afraid you won’t be able to handle it when I will really start controlling your life. So before sprouting hogwash, better think before you speak to me. Moreover, stop making everything a big damn issue,” he snarled while shooting daggers at her.
Her ocean pools watered but this time Diana stood her ground. She glared at him back with teary eyes before speaking, “You are the one who makes a mountain out of a molehill, Zac. There was nothing wrong with that gown but no because you didn’t like that, you forced me to wear a dress of your choice. The same way you didn’t let me meet Rose whom your insane friend had held captive. You both are trying to manipulate our lives, molding us according to your priorities, and want people not to question your decisions. You aren’t God, okay? And let me make one thing clear, that dress wasn’t my choice either but it was sent by your mother. She gifted it to me as a wedding gift that’s why I was so adamant to wear that.”
Zachary froze at her reply, “Mom sent that?”
Diana frowned at his incredulous gaze as if he was having a hard time believing it, “Yes, so what? I am unable to understand you, Zac. When your mother was against me then you were angry with her but now when she is trying to accept me, still you have a problem with that. What do you really want?” She asked him frustratingly and looked away from him.
Suddenly the air around her turned eerily calm and deadly. Diana looked around in panic and cowered back in Zachary’s lap when a low growl that originated from the depth of Hades almost stopped her heartbeat. She looked at Zachary but her mouth dried when her blue orbs met with his blazing red ones. She tried to move back but he grabbed her hips firmly and tightened his hold. Diana placed her fists on his toned chest which was heaving rhythmically when she felt him leaning closer. Her body jolted in dread when he cupped her quivering chin between his long fingers and angled her head to his level.
“Angel, this is my last warning to you. You won’t talk to any other devil unless and until I say so. You won’t step out of the mansion without my permission. If you need anything, tell me and if you dare disobey me, you’ll see the worst side of me.”
Zachary spoke while gnashing his teeth in rage. Diana looked at him in shock. A lone tear escaped her left eye which he gently brushed away with the pad of his thumb before it can fall.
Anger bubbled inside her but the protruding veins on his forehead and neck deterred him to rebel. She cast her eyes down and didn’t bother to answer him.
Zachary looked at her fuming figure. He took her silence as an answer and pulled her in an embrace. But Diana neither hugged him nor say a word to him throughout the ride.
Time skips
Zachary’s P.O.V.
The moment we returned, Diana didn’t waste a second and stormed inside the mansion. I sighed and stared at her retreating figure that oozed sadness and pain. I hurt her, again.
To be honest, I have no regrets ’cause this was necessary. Angel has no idea what Mom was planning to do. She knows I am attracted to Diana’s elegance so she tried to ruin it by gifting her that revealing gown. No doubt she was successful in riling me up but I didn’t expect her to put Diana’s life in danger.
Diana was looking like a seductress in that gown, no doubt she was looking smoking hot but she had no idea that the moment she would step out of the kingdom, she’ll catch a lot of malicious and hungry eyes. I am the King of Hell but to protect her, I would have to slaughter down my own people today. The devils are thirsty for eye-catching beauties and they are always on a hunt for angels. I haven’t yet made our marriage public so demons who live outside the mansion will simply see Diana as a threat but they wouldn’t kill her. Instead, they’ll try to ruin her.
Her beauty is an exception in my world. After Elijah’s betrayal, we all have become bloodthirsty beasts and would devour any angel but some depraved minds are waiting to ravish gorgeous princesses of Heaven. That’s why I and Calix had confined Rose and Diana within the four walls.
I know by bringing Diana here I had put her life in danger. But I am trying my best to keep her safe. Her safety is my topmost priority as my family is also after her. She is the diamond of my life that would be stolen the moment I lower my guards. Everything happened so suddenly that’s why I didn’t get a chance to plan her security. After making the Celestial Meadows, I am still working on designing other places which will be safe for her but Mom’s continuous interruption is foiling my plans.
Right now, my main concern is to keep Diana away from Mom till the construction of my castle gets completed. Yes, I am designing a new castle for ourselves which is closer to Calix’s house. Calix is my most trusted man. Because of the charade we had put in front of Diana, Calix is maintaining distance from me so that she doesn’t get suspicious. But I need him badly. When Calix is around me, I am tension free as no one can harm a single hair of me. That’s why we both are speeding up the process of the castle’s construction. Once it is completed, I will take Diana there, and then she can also meet Rose. I have no intention of separating her from Rose, I am doing all this to protect Diana from Kiora cause that bitch is always roaming in my kingdom like a ghost.
“Zachary”
My jaw clenched as soon as I heard an ear-piercing shrill. The smell of her strong perfume went straight to my head making me dizzy. I immediately turned around and started heading to my Princess when a pair of skinny arms circled my waist from behind.
“Zachary, I missed you so much.”
Kiora bleated and kissed my back. I quickly tore her hands away and pushed her back.
“Kiora, stay within your limits,” I warned her but she simply smirked my threat off.
“Oh, come on. We both know that I had always been your rightful wife. The one who would stay beside you and rule the Hell along with you. It’s still not too late, baby.” She spoke in a sultry tone and wrapped her arms around my neck pulling me closer to her lips. I immediately gripped her arms and yanked them away.
“I never gave consent to that. Fucking snap out of your foolish dreams. I never gave you any hopes nor did I ever accept to marry someone like you.”
Her face lost colors when I scoffed and sized her up and down. But she quickly replaced her scowl with a fake smile and started tracing her long nails on my chest.
“Stop fooling yourself, Zachary. I know you loved when I seduced you that day but I think I didn’t satisfy you well. Give me one more chance, I will show you how good I can be in bed. No one can sate you better than me not even your good for nothing wife.”
She spat bitterly, anger and jealousy were evident in her tone. A strong urge to snap her neck then and there came over me but I gulped my rage down and decided to give her the taste of her own medicine.
Her brown eyes shimmered with hope when I grabbed her chin and made her look into my eyes. She quickly puckered her lips in a pout and tried to kiss me but I didn’t let her.
“You’re right Kiora. No one can sate devils better than you whore. I am glad that my shy wife isn’t your competitor.”
I sneered at her face. Tears of humiliation flooded her eyes. Kiora slapped my hand away and shot me a death glare.
“Mind my words, Zachary. One day you’ll beg me to fuck you. That day I will show your true colors to your Angel and she would leave you forever.”
She spoke arrogantly and flipped her hair before crossing her arms over her breasts making them spill out from her tight corset.
But the challenging look on her face vanished when she heard me laugh, “Yeah sure. Well, I am not surprised as I am well aware of your proclivity to fabricate plans of climbing on my bed somehow. I won’t burst your bubble if that’s what makes you happy but let me make it clear to you today. I never was your customer nor do I have any intention of becoming one in the future. And about my Angel…”
I abruptly stopped laughing and turned my face hard. She gulped and automatically took a few steps back when I shot her my signature feral smirk.
“No power in the universe can take my her away from me. And if you even dare look at my wife, I would break the promise that I had made to your father and would give you the most painful death.”
