Chapter 97: Chapter 97
The girls looked at Lawrence Winters enviously, reluctantly dispersing in small groups.
Kenneth Osborne said to Lawrence Winters, "Come on, I’ll take you to dinner."
Lawrence Winters blinked, "...I can just go to the cafeteria myself."
She didn’t want to be watched like a spectacle anymore.
"To a restaurant outside, Joyce Shaw is treating," Kenneth Osborne said with a laugh.
Sure enough, Lawrence Winters immediately changed her tune, "Then we must go. I can stay hungry until then."
Kenneth Osborne: "..."
"Are you hungry now? It’s only five o’clock," Kenneth Osborne glanced at his watch, quickly glancing at Lawrence Winters.
"No problem, no problem, being a little hungry helps you enjoy the food better." Lawrence Winters said with a bright smile, "You should go take a shower first; you’re all sweaty and it smells..."
She waved her hand in front of her face, as if the smell was overwhelming.
Kenneth Osborne chuckled and ruffled her hair, "You’re still just a little rascal..."
"Hey! My hairstyle!" Lawrence Winters irritably brushed off Kenneth Osborne’s hand, "I have to go to the airport tomorrow! I did this hairstyle especially!"
Kenneth Osborne: "..."
"Airport? What flight are you meeting?" Kenneth Osborne didn’t pay much attention, "Is your mom and uncle coming back?"
Lawrence Winters realized she had slipped up, hastily playing along with a mysterious smile, "Haha, I’m not telling you!"
Kenneth Osborne glanced at her, "You head back and wait, I’ll come find you after the shower."
"Okay, okay!" As soon as Lawrence Winters heard there was a big dinner that night, she was in a buoyant mood.
After parting with Kenneth Osborne, she walked towards the dormitory area.
Along the way, students were returning to the dorms after watching the match.
Several girls in front of her were enthusiastically gossiping.
"...Do you think Scholar Osborne has a girlfriend? He and his hometown friend Lawrence Winters seem to have a really good relationship!"
"If you say it’s Molly Zimmerman, I might believe a bit. But Lawrence Winters... I think they’re really just friends... Look at her figure; she’s even chubbier than me..."
Lawrence Winters followed behind, listening with great interest at first.
But when she heard someone dissing her, saying she wasn’t fit to be Kenneth Osborne’s girlfriend because she was a bit chubby, she became a bit displeased.
She never thought about being Kenneth Osborne’s girlfriend, not for any special reason, just never considered liking him.
But saying she wasn’t qualified because she was chubby didn’t sit well with her.
And if anything, she’d describe herself as slightly chubby, about the same size as the girl speaking, yet still saying she was chubbier!
Lawrence Winters wished she could go up front to memorize that girl’s face, then draw stick figure curses on her every day!
Of course, she could only cowardly think about it.
If her uncle knew she drew curses on someone over a comment, he’d hang her up and scold her.
Lawrence Winters felt a bit down until she joined Crazy Girl, Joyce Shaw, and Kenneth Osborne for dinner that evening; then she started feeling better again.
Crazy Girl originally invited Triple Billion Sister to join them, but Triple Billion Sister saw they were all paired up and declined their dinner gathering.
After dinner, Crazy Girl ordered two additional dishes, packed them up, and took them back for Triple Billion Sister.
Triple Billion Sister saw it and, for once, praised Crazy Girl a few times.
Before Lawrence Winters went to the bathroom, she reminded Crazy Girl, "Remember, accompany me to the airport tomorrow!"
"Got it. By the way, what time is the flight?" Crazy Girl took out her phone to check the location, "Are we taking a taxi or the subway?"
Lawrence Winters said, "I made a banner, we should take a taxi for convenience, right?"
Crazy Girl checked the taxi fare from Yan University to the airport, stuck out her tongue, "My goodness, a taxi ride would cost over two hundred bucks!"
"That expensive?" Lawrence Winters frowned a bit too, "Chasing stars is really costly!"
"It is, but you’re different; you’re Lucas Harlow’s site sister and number one fan, so spending money is justified! I support you in spirit!" Crazy Girl cheerfully encouraged her.
Lawrence Winters shot her a sidelong glance, "Pfft, it’s just over two hundred bucks, sister’s got money!"
She sent the time to Crazy Girl, "Lucas Harlow is returning with the crew, and the flight lands at the Capital City airport at five in the afternoon."
Crazy Girl looked at the time, hesitantly saying, "...Landing at five, then what time do we get back? Joyce Shaw and I eat dinner together every day."
Lawrence Winters rolled her eyes, smiling as she persuaded her, "Eating together every day isn’t fresh anymore. If you skip one day, then eat together again the next day, he’ll definitely cherish you more!"
"Really?" Crazy Girl was half convinced, "But if I don’t see him for a day, I’ll miss him."
Lawrence Winters: "...".
She rubbed her temples, feeling a bit weary, "I don’t understand what’s up with you romantics. I only miss my bank balance if I don’t see it for a day. There’s nothing else that I think about day and night."
"You’re just not enlightened yet..." Crazy Girl affectionately stroked her face, "This cute little flower, who knows when it will bloom..."
"Don’t say it like that, you’re giving me goosebumps." Lawrence Winters dodged to the side, playfully saying, "It’s settled then, we’ll leave at four tomorrow and definitely make it to the airport by five."
The next afternoon at four, Lawrence Winters and Crazy Girl, carrying the banner and signs for the fan gathering, got into the online car Lawrence booked and arrived at the airport on time. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ 𝗻𝗼𝘷𝗲𝗹•𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮•𝕟𝕖𝕥
They found the spot where the crew’s flight would disembark and discovered a massive crowd...
Lawrence Winters was dumbfounded, murmuring, "...Didn’t they say Lucas Harlow is a minor celebrity? How can there be so many fans at the airport???"
Did she chase the wrong star?
Crazy Girl wasn’t particularly fond of Lucas Harlow, certainly not as fervently as Lawrence Winters.
She calmly looked around, realizing the reason, and said to Lawrence Winters with an amused smile, "...Didn’t you say this is the plane the crew took?"
"Yes," Lawrence Winters replied gloomily, wishing she could crouch in a corner and draw circles.
"The male and female leads of the crew are top-tier celebrities; these are their fans here to greet them." Crazy Girl pointed to the banners and signs of the other fans; they didn’t bear Lucas Harlow’s name at all.
Once Lawrence Winters saw this, she immediately perked up.
"Come on, come on! We may lose in numbers but not in spirit! Quickly hang up the banner! Raise the sign!"
Crazy Girl refused to hold up the rather unattractive sign and instead shared one end of the banner, quietly waiting for the crew to emerge from the entrance.
This is the third update.
