Chapter 47: Chapter 47
Sunny
They are all looking at me. What is happening? Why are the students looking at me as I enter our school? I did not cause any trouble for our school, right? Why does it feel like I did?
"Oh my gosh, Sunny. Good thing you are here now," Shiela said when I entered our room. "Have you seen your jerk ex-boyfriend's post and his ugly new girlfriend's comment?" she asked.
I shook my head. "No. I unfriended Jake after we ended our relationship. Why?" I asked back.
Why am I getting nervous? Shiela looks like she is hesitating to tell me the reason. "Why, Shiela? Did something happen?" I gathered my courage to ask her.
"Your jerk ex-boyfriend posted something on his social media account. It seems like he saw you guys yesterday. He saw Steven fetch you. He even took a photo of you while you were smiling at each other," She shared. "His girlfriend commented, 'How dare you act like a victim when you are also cheating behind Jake's back.' Like, what the hell? So, I am waiting for you. Whether you will let me slap the two and kick their asses or not." She added.
"I do not know." I answered and glanced at Steven's chair.
He will be here later. What should I do? I am making trouble for him. I should have thought carefully that other students might find it wrong. I made a bad decision.
"Sunny, I want to remind you that it is not your fault." Shiela said as she held my hands.
"Right! It is not your fault, Sunny. Hello, it's been a few months. It is your love life, and you can do whatever you want. Why do you have to listen to them?" Aira suddenly said, joining the conversation.
"The other students looked at me as if I had killed someone as I entered our school." I shared, fidgeting my hands.
"How dare they did that when they did not know the whole story?!" Shiela asked angrily. "Those pathetic gossipers." She added.
There is a strong possibility that the other students will believe him. He has a lot of friends, and no wonder they will see what Jake has posted. "Do you think Steven knows about this already?" I asked them worriedly.
Aira shook her head and said, "I do not think he knows this issue. He is not active on social media."
"He does not care about the other, so you have to do that too." Shiela added.
I can't do that. I'm not too fond of this kind of situation. "Can we keep this for now? Do not tell Steven about this first. I will try to think of a solution, and I will try to talk to Jake about it too." I told them.
"Are you sure about that?" Shiela complained. "That man is trying to get revenge for what happened before. He is doing this because he does not want to go down alone." She added.
Maybe I can talk to him and tell him to delete the post. Jake and I were together for a long time. Does he not think of our connections? I want to know why he is doing this to me when he can talk to me directly instead of posting.
Steven came, and we quickly changed our topic. Shiela and Aira told the others not to discuss the issue with Steven. I do not want to cause trouble for him. He just left the hospital because of stress, and here I am, making him stressed about my problem. I have to solve it on my own.
I think my decision to like him is very wrong. I should not have involved him in the first place. This is making me crazy.
"Sunny." Our professor called me.
I quickly stood up from my chair. "Yes, Ma'am?" I asked, stuttering.
"Do you agree with what I have said?" She asked.
I nodded. "Yes, Ma'am." I replied.
"And why do you think so?" She asked again.
"If you assessed your students correctly, you would be able to make a strategy that could help the students learn better. If you had not assessed them properly, your strategy would not have worked, and the students would not have learned. There is a possibility that they would not be enthusiastic about our lesson if we could not get their attention and interest, Ma'am." I explained.
Ma'am. Bapin smiled at me. "You may now sit down. You understand our lesson very well. I will give you a plus five for your recitation today." She responded.
"Thank you, Ma'am." I said and sat back in my chair.
It's good that I listened carefully even though I was stressed and wanted to cry about what was happening. Before we started our lesson, I opened my messenger to message Jake, but instead of having a good conversation, I received a mocking message from him. I can't tell what his problem is, saying those words to me and acting like we have no good memories.
I am hurt but I can't show how badly I want to cry after that. I must act like I am okay in front of my classmates and professor. As much as possible, I want to deal with this problem alone. I want them to avoid getting involved in my mess as well.
After our class, I quickly fixed my things. I need to go to Jake's department and talk to him.
"Sunny, Jake is approaching here with his classmates as well." I heard Marco tell me.
That made me look back at him. "Huh?" I asked, confused.
"How dare he bring his stupid classmates into this?" Shiela asked.
I glance at Steven, and he is already looking at me.
"Where is that feeling, victim of your section?" A girl's voice yelled enough for us to hear even in the other room.
"There! Look how pathetic you are right now. Acting like you were a victim before when you are also cheating behind his back?" Jake's girlfriend said, looking directly at me.
"This is our problem. Why do you have to meddle in our problems?" I asked her back and faced Jake. "Jake, you should have talked to me first instead of posting malicious photos. Why do you have to share it online?" I asked him who was beside his new girlfriend.
Jake laughed at me. "Why? You do not want others to know you are already flirting with your new boyfriend, huh? And only want me to suffer a mockery?" He asked.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Do not act like I do not know anything. I see you being fetched by your new boyfriend, smiling lovey-dovey. I caught you already. Do not lie anymore." He replied.
"Flirty slut."
"How dare you say those words to her!" Shiela yelled and was about to lunge at Jake's girlfriend.
"Shiela, no. Do not hurt her." I stopped Shiela from approaching Jake's girlfriend.
"Do not stop her. Do not act as if you are God or something. Show your true self." Jake's girlfriend commented that it made Shiela madder and was trying to break free from my grip.
"Shiela, don't," Steven suddenly said. "Excuse me." He added, making his way to me.
"Here is the boyfriend, acting like a friend in front of the others." Jake said, clapping his hands.
"I am not her boyfriend... yet. Just so you know." Steven replied, earning a reaction from the students around us.
"So, you are confessing now?" Jake's girlfriend asked Steven.
He shrugged his shoulders. "So what?" Steven replied, a hint of pride evident. "I want to clear some things up. I know what you did, what you posted on your social media, and what you commented on," He added, looking at both of them. "I have been waiting for Sunny to tell me about that issue, but she is not telling me. You said we are in a relationship? I am sorry to burst your bubble, but no. Like what I said a while ago, not yet,"
"You saw me fetching Sunny? Yes, I did. So what? What does it have for you? You guys have not been together for months now. It had been exactly four months. I want to remind you again. It seems you are still caught up in your relationship with her,"
"And just so you know, you cheated on her. You cheated behind her back while you were still together. Going out with her," he said, pointing at Jake's girlfriend. "And tell Sunny you are fucking busy studying. You have been cheating on Sunny for a year and getting mad at Sunny when she tried to call and ask about your condition?"
"She caught you kissing beside your department and broke up with you. Your relationship had already been done. How dare you make fun of and mock her when she did her best to be your girlfriend when you're acting a jerk to her. Can't she smile at someone now? So, after breaking up with you for months, she should not dare to like someone else when you were with your not-so-new girlfriend? You're not that handsome. What do they like about you in the first place? Now, you take a photo of us? I can sue both of you for cyber bullying and libel."
"What nonsense are you spouting?" Jake asked, irritated.
Steven shook his head disappointedly, "Oh, you do not know about it? Sorry, my mistake. So what if I held her hand? You guys are not together, so do not make fun of it just because you want revenge. You dare to bring your classmates so you can humiliate her or me? That's not going to happen. I feel sad for those who supported your claim and criticized her. They stared at her as if she had made a grave error because they didn't know what had happened. Do not think of getting your revenge. I clearly warned you before, as her friend. And didn't you know that your girlfriend tried to come at me too?" Steven revealed.
I gasped after hearing that. Everyone was shocked. "I do not want to break it to you as much as possible. But I think you need to know it. Are you sure that you are her only boyfriend as well?" Steven asked Jake.
"What are you talking about?!" Jake's girlfriend said.
Steven fished out his phone. He was opening his data. He scrolls down before showing it to Jake. "This is her, right?" He asked.
Jake was shocked. "If you are with someone, do not cheat behind their back. If you do not like them anymore, then end it. " Learn from this, Jake and you," Steven said about Jake's girl. "I am not like Jake. I commit a relationship to only one person,"
"Don't make fun of her, and don't makeup stories about her that aren't true. I am warning you again for the last time. You are not taking my warnings seriously, Jake, and your not-so-new girlfriend." Steven said.
"I do not have to slap you anymore, girl. Poor you. Steven does not like people like you. Sorry, Jake. It serves you right to do this to her. I also want to remind you that you do not dare show your face to me next time because I will not hesitate to slap you. Same to you, girl. Haters are going to hate." Shiela added.
"Now, go home, losers. Your chickens did not win the battle. Make sure to bring yourselves when you are sure that you will win. Shame on your department." Marco commented.
"The guys are funny. My men are outside. Should we teach them some lessons?" Gino added.
"You are just all talk, man." One of Jake's friends commented.
"Uhh, sorry. All I knew was to make a fake story," Gino replied, unbothered. Jake and his girlfriend started to go out. The people who came with them also followed. "Let's follow them. Faster!" Gino said excitedly.
Like what he said, we brought our things and followed too. There was a significant distance between our section and Jake's friends. They reached the gate first, but they halted after that.
"Excuse me." Gino said happily and went ahead. He signed us to walk behind him.
"Sir. Gino!" A loud voice greeted Gino.
