Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Sunny

"I want to buy this chair, it looks so comfortable!"

"Why do we need to buy it when we already have chairs in our house? We do not need it."

"I am going to put it in my room, okay?"

"No, we won't buy it. You are just wasting money."

"Hey! It is my money in the first place, right?"

"WAIT!" I interrupted. "Can you guys please calm down for a second." I added and looked at them one by one. "Calm down. Inhale...exhale. Calm down. Why are you guys fighting over chairs?" I asked them.

Yes, it is Thursday, and I am with the Rendezcah Brothers because they want to buy new things for their house.

Actually, I was supposed to clean with my grandmother, but they asked if I could come to buy things since they do not know many things. They claim that they are boys and that they do not know anything about these kinds of things. That is why I ended up coming with them and leaving Grandma at their house for her to clean the first floor.

Yes, only the first floor. We have talked about what I settled with the brothers. At first, Grandma did not like the idea. I am scared that it might trouble my studies. I managed to explain to her that it wouldn't trouble me at all. We only have to clean the house twice a week and we put it in the place where I do not have any classes. If she won't let me, then I won't let her work either. That is how I ended up working with my grandma.

"Steven, we went here to buy things you guys wanted to buy. That is why you asked me to come, right?" I asked Steven.

"Right! Right!" Mavin commented beside me.

Looking at the both of them made me think that Mavin acts more like a younger brother than Steven.

Every strict-like characteristics is in him and if I do not know these two, I will think that way.

"We have many chairs. Why does he need to buy things that we do not really need?" Steven asked back.

"It is for my computer," Mavin replied. "Have you watched any vloggers playing with this chair? Watch sometimes, dude. You really need it." Mavin added.

"Do not be mad, okay?" I told Steven, who was seething in anger. "Just let him buy the chair. He is older than you." I added. "And maybe he really needs it for his computer. Remember, we are here to buy the things you need. If you feel like you really need it, then buy it."

He sighed. "Fine." he finally said.

"Nice! Miss, I want to get this chair," Mavin told the saleslady. "Wait for me here, I will pay for it first." He added and went towards the cashier to pay for the chair he is been trying to buy a while ago.

I look at Steven, who is looking at his phone.

"Are you mad?" I asked him.

"No." he answered.

"You looked like one," I retorted. "You are more mature than your older brother. Haven't you watched any vlogs?" I asked.

Aside from watching dramas or any variety of shows in my free time. I watched vlogs. It was fun and entertaining at the same time.

"I do not watch things like that," he answered. "I prefer reading to doing that." he said, and I shrank in my seat.

Let's just claim that he is a genius. No one can match his bookworm status.

"You are still young, yet you talk and act like an older person," I told him. "Have fun sometimes, Steven. Life is short. That is why we need to fulfill the things we wanted to do while we were living." I shared.

"Mine is not." he retorted.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, wondering what he had said.

"Nothing." he replied.

After Mavin paid for the chair and asked to deliver it to their house, we headed to the supermarket.

"This is the supermarket?" Mavin asked.

"Yes, you have never been to a supermarket?" I asked back.

"No, never. It is my first time," he replied. "And I can smell the foul smell from somewhere. I hate the smell already, it is killing my nose." he complained.

I checked Steven's reaction.

"You are fine with it?" I asked since he was not saying or showing anything.

"I am dying of the smell." he replied, briefly but surely.

Definitely a rich boy who has never tried to go to a supermarket.

I can not help but laugh at them. They both have similarities aside from their faces, and it is the hate of smelly supermarkets.

"Well, you are lucky enough to only experience this kind of supermarket." I told them. "If you try our market, I think you will die of the smell. The smell here is not that strong. In our market, the smell can punch you." I added.

"Do not worry. We do not have any plans to go there at all. We are fine with this kind of market." Mavin said.

"You can just go and buy the fruits over there. I will just buy some fish and meat here." I told them.

They did not waste any time and fled out of the section where they could still smell the fishy odor.

This is just a supermarket inside a mall, yet they find the smell fishy already. How much more if they went to a supermarket for average people? They might wish to remove their nose in an instant.

Just imagining it makes me laugh already.

While Steven and Mavin were paying for the things we bought, I received a text from Jake.

"So, we are not able to meet again?" I told myself after reading his message.

I asked him to go out on a date later, and he said that he could not go because he had a lot of things to do.

"Who was that?" Mavin suddenly asked. "You have a boyfriend?" he asked.

I nodded shyly.

"No date later?" he asked, and that made me shocked.

"You have read his text?" I asked him.

"You are too occupied. Yeah, I read your boyfriend's message." he answered back nonchalantly.

I keep my phone away from him. What a nosy man, he certainly knows how to snoop on someone's phone, huh?

"How about you?" I asked back. "Do you have a girlfriend?"

"None." he answered.

"Eeeh, it is impossible," I commented. "You are the definition of a tall, white, and handsome man. Do not be shy. I told you mine. You should as well." I added.

"I told you already that there was none." he replied.

This is even more shocking than the rejected thesis title.

"How could that be?" I told him.

I can tell that there are many girls interested in him. If Steven can, he can as well!

"You think I am handsome? Do I pass your taste in men?" Mavin asked.

I nodded immediately.

"When it comes to your physical appearance, I can really say that you really exceeded my expectations. Who would say no? Especially teenagers today in our generation like handsome boys, you know." I told him the reality.

"Is your boyfriend handsome?" he asked.

"Why are you asking about him?" I asked back.

"I was just wondering if you were more of a handsome one or not." he replied.

"I admit that Jake has a nice face too. Well, I think it is just a bonus for me." I told him.

"Bonus? You just told me that every teenager likes a handsome man." he retorted.

"I did," I answered. "But I did not like him because of his face. His characteristics made me fall for him. I do not just look at someone's face. Attitude is a must. Don't you know that?"

"Sunny and Jake are sitting on a tree! K! I! S! S! I! N! G!" I quickly covered his mouth.

"What the hell are you yelling! Are you nuts!" I said, headlocking him at the same time.

"What? I just find it cute!" he answered.

"Cute, cute! You should find yours as well, so that you do not have to be envious of my relationship." I told him.

"Okay, okay! Stop headlocking me now. I won't tease you." he surrendered, putting his hands up. Signaling that he is really surrendering.

"You sure?" I asked.

"They are all looking at you two doing a slam match in a mall. You are giving me a headache." we heard Steven commented, carrying the groceries.

I let go of Mavin and slowly looked around us.

"Let's go home!" I told them to walk faster as I could.

We definitely got their attention, and that is so embarrassing!

"Steven did you know that Sunny has a boyfriend?" Mavin asked when we got into his car.

Steven nodded. "She was talking about her boyfriend the other day, so that is why I knew about it." he explained.

He is not just a genius, but a paparazzi too.

"How about you? When will you get yours?" Mavin asked Steven again.

Right. I am curious as well if he has a person he loves or not.

"I am not interested at the moment." he answered coolly.

Why do I feel like Steven acts more mature than his older brother? He is too serious about everything.

Unlike his older brother, who is not serious about everything.

"You should be interested in this moment! You're in college, but you have no crushes! Do not make your life boring as it is!" Mavin commented.

I do not know if it is a compliment, advice, or if he is just being sarcastic.

"You do not have any people you like, even though you finished your studies. Mind your own self." Steven retorted.

Oh, that hits a lot.

Mavin ended up pouting. He is defeated by his younger brother with just words.

"By the way, Mavin. What did you take in college and what is your work now?" I asked.

"I own an office."

"Office manager."

They both answered.

"He said that he owns an office," I repeated, and Mavin replied. "And you said that he was an office manager?" I asked Steven. "Who is telling the truth?"

"I own an office and I am an office manager at the same time. I wanted to get close to my employees." Mavin explained himself.

My mouth gaped. "Seriously? They did not notice you at all?" I asked out of curiosity. "Do they say bad things about you?" I added.

"No one noticed yet. I have not heard anything about me or any bad words from them. That is good news, right?" Mavin said.

I nodded in return. "I think it is better. Maybe you are handling your office well. Maintain it that way." I told him. "That is why you are not that busy. I thought you did not have any work, because you are always in your big house." I added, sharing what I thought about him.

"People who are making money do not even need to work too hard." Mavin replied, with his forehead held high.

"Wow. Too arrogant. I wish I had not asked for that thing." I said.

"Tch." Steven commented.

"Did you tched at me, Steven?" Mavin asked, annoyed.

"You are just one of the big workloads in your office." Steven commented.

Do these two brothers get along in the first place?

"And how can you say so? Do you even know what I am doing there? Are you there in the first place?" Mavin asked Steven.

"You know, I know what you are doing there. Do not even start me." Steven answered. It seems like nothing fazed him.

"Hey! I know that you know what my work is, but I am really working hard. I keep everyone safe and don't let anyone harm them—never mind. I know myself that I am working hard." He replied.

I guess these two do not get along either.
