Chapter 61: Chapter 61
I blinked at Zeus. Was he for real? Lukas was somewhere far away while I was trapped in an unknown place with no means to escape. How would anyone feel in my situation?
“How am I feeling?” I echoed his question, trying hard not to do something impulsive like punch his face. He is a God of Thunder for crying out loud. That will be the last of me if I attempt to harm him in any way.
Zeus softly hummed, tilting his head to meet my eyes. “I know that Ingrid can cause headaches. He is too powerful for your human body.”
“Why am I here?! Where is Lukas? Did he ask you to bring me here?” I questioned, hope brimming in my eyes.
“You are all alone here. Ingrid bought you here.”
That name again! I felt my eyes widen at that. For a mere second, I thought that Lukas must have sorted it out and asked Zeus to help me out. Where was he? My blood went cold as I remembered the last time I saw him he screamed for me. Also, those bloody shadows that tried to kill us. What happened to them? Did Lukas scare them away? I had so many questions in my mind.
“Who the fuck is Ingrid?”
Zeus winced at my sharp tone but quickly composed himself. I pressed my lips together, regretting my tone the instant I blurted out. Who can blame me? I was pregnant and away from my mate—solid reasons to burst out on a God.
“He is umm...my guard. Gets all the work done.”
“Your dirty work?” I snorted, crossing my arms together. What was going on with me? With each passing second, I felt angry, the vein visible on my forehead and head throbbing. It felt like a thousand elephants stomping on my head at once. For once I was not exaggerating.
The Greek God softened. His eyes immediately shifted towards the nightstand, and he let out a sigh, “You are in pain, gliko mou. Take those herbs. It will help you”
“Yeah like I’m gonna believe you” I scoffed, rolling my eyes and slumping back with a humph. My eyes watered from the amount of pain, but I refused to cry, holding my stand in front of Zeus. He did not need to see that.
“I have no intention of harming you. Trust me on this.”
I gaped at him, “Trust you? You abducted me! Why would I do that?”
Zeus rubbed his temples, “I did not-I promise you after your rest we will talk. Just take that herb. Your pain won’t reduce without it.”
I stared at him. From the look on his face, it was difficult to tell if he was lying. The throbbing in my forehead was intensifying, so I did not have any choice but to believe him. Tearing my eyes away, I blinked at the leaves for a few seconds before picking them up. I brought to my nose and sniffed for a few seconds, feeling Zeus eyes on me.
“Take it” He gently persuaded.
Sucking a sharp breath, I pushed the leaves in my mouth, shuddering at the bitter taste. Zeus instantly handed me the glass of water. As the cold liquid entered my throat, I felt heavy, my eyes barely open and darkness consumed me again.

When I woke up, I noticed a tall figure in my room. I immediately jolted from my bed, sitting up and wrapping a hand around my belly. A sigh escaped my lips when I noticed that it was a maid.
“What are you doing here?”
She jumped at my voice, immediately folding her hands behind her back, head bent down. “Prinkipissa I’m sorry to have alarmed you. My Lord asked me to check up on you.”
My eyes widened at that, “Lukas? Did he send you here?”
She shook her head, “Lord Zeus. He sent me here.”
Oh. I thought clamping my mouth shut. So much for thinking that Lukas was here. Where was he? I thought with a frown. My heart thudded loudly against my chest at his mention. Wherever he was, I hoped that he would come back for me—our pup. We needed him the most.
“What does he want?” I spat, my jaw clenched at the mention of the God. He was so vague and managed to dodge all my questions so effectively. It irked me.
“He wants me to escort you to the painting hall.”
My brows quirked at that. What’s the painting hall? Besides, why does he want me to meet him there? A change of scenery perhaps! I snorted to myself. Whatever it was an opportunity for me to get out of the room and maybe I will find a portal in-process and escape from whatever this place.
“Give me a minute.”
She curtly bowed down and exited the room. I took the time to get out of the bed and walk towards a huge vanity mirror. I felt my eyes widen as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. For a moment, I thought that a stranger was staring back at me. I touched my cheeks, amazed at the pink tint on them. My eyes looked well-rested, and there was a strange glow on my face. Strangely enough, my hair was set even though I slept for what seemed like infinity. How was that possible?
Shaking my head, I stepped out of the room only to find the maid standing in the corner. My heart twinged as I recalled the way I behaved with her. It was not her fault that Zeus abducted me.
“Shall we go?”
She politely nodded her head and walked by my side.
I stared at the golden pillars on the side with awe. White lace curtains were tied in the middle, almost like knots, making them look heavenly. The roof was curved, white glittery paint shining in the dark. The pillars had intricate designs on them and a strange glow to them even though it was a few hours past daytime. There was no way out of the pillars, not that I can see because of their height. Nothing but the dark sky was visible to me.
I turned towards the maid because she was the only hope I had.
“Sorry I didn’t get your name?”
The maid stuttered, “Nefelie.”
“That’s a beautiful name.”
She blushed, “Thank you, prinkipissa”
I ignored that strange term, focusing on the marble tiles. They were so shiny and bright that I could see my reflection in them. What was this place?
“Nefelie can I ask you something?”
She nodded her head.
“What is this place? I have never seen this before.”
Her face scrunched at my question. She opened and closed her mouth before answering, “Mount Olympus.”
***
I was freaking out. How did I end up in Mount Olympus of all places? What had my life become? A few months ago, I was struggling to pay my rent and juggle in between jobs, but now I was worrying about Gods and demons. How did it come to this?
With a sigh, I smoothed my skirt and ignored the thousands of questions going in my brain. Nefelie left me at the door and swiftly took her exit. Her work was done. I had half a mind to flee the scene and find the portal instead, but that would not be easy, especially with all the guards at the end of the hallway. They can easily catch up with me because I can never run in my current outfit and probably fall on my face because of the shiny marble floor.
I pushed the door and stepped inside; my mouth fell open at the sheer size of the room. As the door clicked shut behind me, I jumped a bit. My eyes roamed around the room, taking in all the paintings adorning the walls. No wonder it’s called a painting room. There were portraits everywhere.
“Talia” Zeus breathed, turning over his shoulder.
I wrapped my arms around myself, “Hi?”
“Come here. I want to show you something.”
I cocked my brow at him as he stood at the other end of the room. He was standing in front of a wall; his front covered the entire portrait, so I had no choice but to drag myself in his direction. So much walking! Did he secretly hate me?
After a few huffs and curses, I made it to the exact spot and stood beside him.
“What is it?”
“Look at this” He pointed at the painting in front of him.
With a sigh, I followed his eyes only to feel my breath caught in my throat. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Was I dreaming? There was no way something like that was possible! I thought to myself repeatedly blinking at the picture. My throat felt dry.
“How-What? What is this?” I stuttered, raising my head to look at him.
Zeus fondly sighed, “This is a picture of our family...when you were a moon princess, and your mother was still alive.”
