Chapter 57: Chapter 57

I frowned, staring at the entrance of the lawn. There was no moment from anywhere. The silence surrounding the garden was defending. Where is Talia? I thought to myself. She should be here by now. Did she even read my note? What if she didn’t get it? It was impossible to miss, but there was a possibility.

My stomach twisted at the thought of her still being angry and refusing to see me. Was I reading too much into it? Even though she told me she understood it felt forced. I did not want her to lie to me.

This is stupid! I muttered under my breath. I should have stayed back and woken her up instead. That way, I would have known if she got my message. With that thought in my mind, I took a step further only to see a tiny figure at the door. Blinking my eyes, I squinted trying to get the clear picture of the sight in front of me.

With her each step, I felt my breathing accelerate. Why was I so nervous? It was just my mate! Maybe because of all the things I planned for her. She was too sweet to say anything harsh, though.

Talia gasped for breath, “Sorry!”

“What took you so long?” I frowned, narrowing my eyes at her. Her pregnancy was the reason I chose to continue my surprise in the lawn. Knowing her, she would take her sweet time in picking dresses if I called her somewhere else.

I noticed the sweat on her forehead. How was that possible? It was barely three minutes walk from the room to the lawn. Did she stop somewhere on the way?

Talia nervously chuckled, her fingers wrung together, “I ate all the waffles.”

“They were not that many! I measured everything.” I defended myself.

Maybe I might have gone overboard while mixing the batter. Also, the sound of chicken frying in the pan was exciting to me. It might be because I have not cooked for a while now. I’m talking centuries here.

Her eyes widened, “You made them?”

I felt red in the face at her high pitched voice. In the beginning, I thought that I would call a chef but later scrapped that idea. If I was going to make an effort better start with breakfast.

“Yeah,” I let out an embarrassed chuckled, ducking my head down.

I noticed her inching towards me, her steps steady. Suddenly I felt her dainty hands wrapped around my side, and I looked up. She had a bright smile on her face, eyes twinkling.

“Thank you so much. I love-” She coughed, quickly pulling away.

“I loved waffles.” Talia rubbed at the back of her neck, nervously, avoiding my eyes. Was she okay?

I narrowed my eyes at her, “Okay...”

She whined, “Are you going to make me stand here all day?”

I huffed. As if that’s possible. She would throw a fit in the middle of it. Talia was impatient at times, but it always worked in my favour, so I wasn’t complaining.

“Of course not, baby. Come on”

“Finally! I can’t wait anymore.” She dramatically sighed and took my hand in hers. I jerked at her cold, clammy hands. That was so unlike her.

“Why are your hands so cold?”

“I don’t know!” She squeaked and pulled me forward. I sighed. Maybe it was just me overthinking about things.

“Alright atleast tell me where are we going?” Talia demanded, back out in the open with her arms folded across her chest, challenging. I tried not to roll my eyes at her. It’s not even a minute since we started walking.

I kept quiet, gripping her hand tighter.

“Lukas!” She nudged my side.

I halted in the middle, turning towards her. She had a furrow in between her brows and lips pinched together. Before she could ask anything, I shushed her, my arm sliding around her waist.

“You need to relax,” I softly whispered into her ear, my fingers digging into her skin. She let out a squeak and pulled away.

“I will after you tell me!”

I stared at her for a full two seconds before giving up, “We are going to swim on the beach for a few hours until you are all pruny and relaxed.”

“There’s a beach here?!” She squealed.

I winced, nodding my head, “Yes. Come on now!”

“I thought this was fake like a scenic background” Talia breathed as she stared at the sea. It’s the view of her bedroom. Why would she even think that? Also didn’t I already tell her it was real?

“It’s not”

“Wow. It’s beautiful.”

I hummed. It was not much actually. The sea stretched till the edge of the hell. After that, there’s an invisible wall which no one can cross. Dean had the idea to make a water body so that no one would try to go on the other side. I didn’t oppose that.

The land was barren and filled with rocks when I was crowned as the King. To enhance it, I decided to make it a beach.

She looked at herself before turning towards me, “But I didn’t bring any swimsuit with me.”

I laughed, “You don’t have to worry about that.”

I pointed at the paper bag on the deck. She went inside the small shower room to get changed. I undressed in the meantime, already wearing swimming trunks under my pants.

Talia emerged from the room, awkwardly sliding her hands down her sides, “This is so soft.”

“You should let me pick out your clothes all the time,” I grunted, my eyes trailing down the lavender lace mini dress. It showed off her long legs and delicate hands. The hem of the dress clung to her thighs, making it difficult for me to tear my eyes off her.

She giggled, “I will think about it.”

We dipped in the water. My immediate instinct was to grab on to her because the sea was deep. She slapped a handful of water into my chest before pulling away from my grip.

“Thought you brought me here so I could relax.”

“I did,” I nodded my head.

“Just wanted to feel your outfit.”

She bashfully shook her head and shuffled towards me, her eyes fixed on my face.

“This is nice.”

I took her face in between my hands; my breath was fanning her. Her lips trembled at my touch. Without thinking further, I leaned down and pressed my lips against her. She let out a soft moan, her head tilting at the impact.

Her hand slid towards my chest, slowly inching towards my hard cock. Before she could touch it, I pulled back, breathless.

She blinked her eyes in a daze, her lips swollen and red.

“Baby,” I said, slow and thoughtless.

“We cannot. Not here”

The beach was open to everyone in Hell. Also, anyone in the mansion can see us. Even though I told everyone to stay away from the beach for a while, I didn’t want to risk anyone seeing my mate naked.

She twisted her lips, hand on her hip, “You’re the one who kissed me!”

“Sorry baby. I’ll make up for it.”

“How?”

“You will find out soon.”

Two hours later Talia and I got out of the water, smelling like salt. We quickly changed into more comfortable outfits as I had another surprise planned for her.

“We are going back to the mansion?” She frowned.

“Yes but to the hotel side of it.”

She parted her lips, “Oh, I have never been there.”

“Yeah, that's why I planned it there.”

I already had the key to the room, so we didn’t have to wait anywhere. I tilted my head towards Talia only to notice her twisting her lips.

“Are you nervous?”

“Yeah, a little.” She blushed.

“It’s nothing really.”

We entered the room. Candles were scattered everywhere, soft light flickering and illuminating the room. They had a faint smell of lavender and vanilla mixed together. All the actual lights in the room were turned off, so the candles have a soft glow.

“Did you do this?” Talia turned towards me.

“Yeah”

She chewed on her lips, “Are you going to sacrifice me or something?”

I burst out laughing. Sometimes she does say the most bizarre things ever. Why would I ever do that?

“Baby,” I murmured, sliding both my hands around her waist, gripping lightly. “This is my way of courting you.”

“Oh,” She blushed, nodding her head. How does she do that? My chest was filled with so many emotions just by staring at her.

“I need to tell you something.”

“What?” She questioned, quirking her brow. A look of suspicion crossed her face.

I pulled one hand away from her and slid it underneath my jacket pocket, feeling the box. I took it out and heard a gasp from her.

“Lukas...”

“I want you to accept my pin” I mumbled, sitting on my knees in front of her.
