Chapter 47: Chapter 47
The bright sphere of energy slowly turned grey to dark as it absorbed all the darkness of the powers it could.
The onlookers awed at the small human body forming from the dark energy. It looked as if the Satan himself is taking a human form.
It was absolutely terrifying.
Orla could not believe what she was seeing. She thought the energy would be transferred to some other person but the birth of ultimate dark energy as a body itself can be lethal.
Nay, beyond lethal.
If the energy is formed into a little child, then even whole of her magic could not kill it. The energy was that magnificent.
It did not help Orla that she could not even destroy the energy openly which made her anxious. Her hands held tightly as the apprehension took over her senses.
How was she to stop the energy from forming into a child?
From her peripheral vision, she saw Alder rubbing his palms in excitement as the pace of the child creation was increasing. The warriors and few of Alder’s supporters closed in to see the creation of their new leader with great enthusiasm.
Just as the limbs of the child were about to form, the dark energy sphere quaked furiously. Alder who was happy till the moment turned urgent and worried. Orla didn’t know how, why and what was happening but seeing Alder worried was just a good news to her.
Those who came forward to watch the ritual in awe stepped back to good distance as the quaking sphere was terrifying everyone present over there.
“What – Wha-“ Alder spoke in urgency as he ran around with his beaten old body. “Dear Orla, you might have to do something to protect our child.” Alder ran to the stunned Orla as he shook her by her shoulders for help.
To anyone present there, it appeared as though Orla was the solution to rescue the newly forming child but only Orla knew that she cannot do anything at that moment of time.
Even she could, she is not a fool to protect the vicious power in the form of a child.
Orla nodded her head as she tried to contain the shaking sphere of dark power inside a bright shield knowing too well that it would do no good to contain it. Just as Orla was struggling to contain the power in one piece, the crows Queen created a shield and helped Orla contain it.
It would have stunned Orla if the crows Queen did not help Alder, but on the contrary, Orla was stunned to see the Queen help her but with much lesser potential she could’ve used.
The Queen did not use her full potential to shield the sphere was something Orla did not expect coming. It could only mean that the Queen is not in tune with Alder. It could only mean that she was against the creation of this power to begin with.
If her assumption was correct, then the question that slumped Orla was, why?
“Make certain you put all your abilities to protect the power orb.” Alder ordered loudly as his eyes met the struggling Orla and the Queen.
Alder felt the urgency to protect the weapon he was waiting to create from past several decades. He felt like a bucket of cold water washed down his senses at the sudden turn of event.
As he observed the way Orla and the Queen trying and struggling greatly to protect the power orb from bursting, he knew they could not be able to do the task by themselves as the ultimate power was much powerful than anyone.
He needed someone else.
Someone who could use their life to protect it.
Someone who could be his tool and weapon,
Someone like…
“Guards! Look for Noll and tell him he is needed here. Bring him immediately.” Alder ordered. The Guards bowed and ran to find the person Alder was looking for but just as the guards left, a heaviness was dumped at Alder’s feet.
Alder nearly jumped at the suddenness but as his initial bafflement wore off, he looked down to see what it was that bewildered him.
“You must be looking for him, father.” He heard Lucius hollering as his voice held the power and command he always envied of.
“Noll. Isn’t he the person you are asking for? To probably guide the power into him, Aye?” Lucius stated as he walked into the backyard in slow and relaxed steps alongside Madonna who has her infamous void face again.
The backyard which was filled with the air of cheers and hollers moments ago was now in a very bad phase seeing as the person that Alder was looking for was at his feet – dead, the power that he was nearly successful with was now on the verge of demolition.
Alder kicked the lifeless body with his foot and saw the face of Noll who was supposed to help him was now dead. He felt devastated – not that the lad was dead, nay but cause of the reason that the lad was dead useless.
“You thought this young son of yours could restrict us, trap us and help you? How naïve, Alder.” Madonna gritted as the anger she was holding from years, despise she was feeling from the moment she saw how he destroyed her mother, was now out in the wilderness.
The sphere, after quivering for a long time suddenly burst out as the vapors of black energy evaporated into thin air as if it was not there few moments ago. The exploded resulted in knocking back Orla and the Queen with a great force causing them to fly back and hit the wall painfully.
Without giving both the ladies their attention, Lucius and Madonna inched forward slowly towards Alder. Two maidservants reached both the ladies as they helped them up and provided them with hand support to stand firm.
“Good riddance! The lad is out of my way. I wonder how you though a mere herb could confine very powerful Witch and a warlock. You thought your Satyriasis of a son was good enough to stop us?” Lucius snickered out flicking his fingers as fire roared and consumed the body of Noll.
“How –“ Alder staggered back but the wild fire of anger in his eyes was not masked at all. “How dare you go against your father? How daring of you to spoil my ritual.” Alder bellowed as his wrinkled face crumpled into an ugly scowl.
“My, my, my, but we did not spoil your ritual. We have no hand in it whatsoever. But father – nay, you aren’t my father, aye?” Lucius wiggled his eyebrow in an amusing manner.
Alder’s eyes widened when he heard those dreading declarations from Lucius. He could not believe what Lucius said.
He knew?
He knew it?
“As for the ritual, I spoiled it.” Came the soft, thin voice coming from his behind. And there stood a well looking, strong and healthy Fina in a fine gown just like how a noble lady should look like.
Fina smiled proudly as she smiled at Madonna and Lucius. “You should’ve thought over my warning this afternoon.” Fina shrugged as she walked over to the young Emor couple and held Madonna’s hand.
“I knew long before that you aren’t Alder Emor, much less my father.” Lucius said gaining back Alder’s attention towards himself.
Alder, along with his supporters and warriors were quite stunned at the scene unfolding before them. How Lucius knew of the secret and how Fina scored to spoil the ritual was beyond their guesses.
Many of them couldn’t even tell what was happening looking at how the friends and foes were showing their true colors.
Alder opened his mouth to talk, talk something, anything; but words did not leave his mouth. He just did not know what to speak at that moment. He was too bewildered and defeated.
“I will tell my share of the story first brother in law.” Fina said in her ever so soft and polite tone but it only resulted in Lucius to frown.
“Looking at it, my share of the story and secrets comes first chronologically.” Lucius retorted back giving Fina an ingratitude frown.
“Brother in law?” Alder muttering as he glanced at the close chat between Lucius and Fina. Alder glanced at both of them back to back so as to understand what was happening.
By that moment, he nearly lost all his senses just like how his desired ultimate power exploded into nonentity.
“Calm yourself down both of you. Don’t argue with each other at this time of importance.” Orla squeezed herself inside Alder’s building confusion.
“Alder dear, this is Fina and Lucius is her brother by law cause of the reason he married her sister by blood, Madonna.” Orla settled herself beside Alder as she introduced them with much clarification.
“Madonna Thorne.” Orla enunciated, substituting Alder’s confusion with an ugly realization.
Alder felt as if he was struck by the lightening when his little confusion was finally cleared. The Thorne family has a daughter.
Madonna was a Thorne?!
Unbelievable! But by the look of everyone he was surrounded with, he was certain he shall be receiving many more jolts of shock as such.
