Chapter 17: Chapter 17
There was one element Orla pride herself with, that was her knowledge. To her, knowledge had always played an important role throughout.
It was her knowledge on many aspects that benefited her with a life until the moment and thorough knowledge was what made many tribes of magical realms approach her for aid and advices.
Orla knew how to play and how to turn a play which was against her. Simply put, it took her far more than twenty years to concoct whatever she was doing presently, while it would be not possible someone other than her to have achieve what she did.
Destroying Alder Emor was no easy feat.
Alder… the name was enough to bring a wave of unpleasant emotions inside her.
As she looked out to a clear sky, she mulled over all the lives she had taken, all the traps she had laid and all the plans she made with Madonna.
At the thought of Madonna a slow smile formed on her lips. She always knew the little girl she took in was meant to great things. She was a dear child she took pride in.
When the little girl turned into a maiden of beauty, she did not know. The affection she had for the young Witch was more than what she must have for her own offspring.
“How could you!” She heard a sudden enraged voice. She would be lying if she say she was not startled by the sudden bellow. “How dare you! You must be very much secure of your potency to challenge me.”
The slight surprise soon changed into a blank one. She knew she would soon be in the presence of him and she shall be the one narrating the consequences of her action.
With a calm façade she was always with, she turned to the familiar voice and noticed the familiar man spitting fire in fury.
His skin was turning crimson with every passing moment, the fire in his eyes was getting her little cabin turn scorching and the horns that were not there suddenly came out of his head and stood proudly in their usual position.
The Demon King!
“Your Highness, I welcome you to my humble chalet.” Orla welcomed the enraged King with an ever calm smile present on her lips.
The Demon King, Varnor Demon, was one of those very powerful and tempered man that shall never be crossed. He was a man of actions and he never used words in the first place.
The King knew both to punish brutally and kill callously and Orla loved how he dealt with people who went against him.
She had been an admirer of the Demon King for quite a long time and learnt a few things from him as well.
Varnor Demon spit out a fire globe at Orla in fury. He strode towards her with an intention to kill the Witch painfully for what she had put him through.
He was never a man of patience, not to forget his unruly demonic senses that knew no words but only horrific actions.
Why did he trust the Witch to begin with?
He and his queen entrusted their dear son’s safety in the hands of the pronounced Witch and she had been planning to kill their heir all the while.
He shall kill the old woman slowly and painfully. He shall show no mercy when he and his queen inflict pain into her.
She was the cause behind the death of his only heir, Aiken and she shall pay for it dearly.
“I vow to kill you filthy woman painfully.” The Demon King bellowed as he charged to Orla and reached her neck to squeeze her out of breath.
Just as the King was just a step away from her, Orla manifested a shield around the Demon King and trapped him inside a very strong maze.
The king struggled to use break the maze but Orla was not prepared to let the beast out of bounds yet. She could realize the King’s fury and hurt and she was not well aware of it by her experience but before she could let the Demon out of the shield, she has much to say.
She had to what she did for far many causes that only she knew and she shall enlighten him with them.
“I request you to have a seat, Varnor.” Orla proceeded as she pulled a huge chair for him with her magic.
When the King was momentarily startled by the fact that the Witch called him by name, Orla took a seat of her own and waited for the King to sit.
“Aiken can be brought back to life, Varnor. Now sit.” The dangerous aura that overwhelmed Orla for a moment notched down as the words left her mouth.
The Demon King ceased struggling and sat down in the chair still danger not leaving him.
“Aiken can be brought back to life? How?” The king asked as he leaned forward to learn the details of what Orla meant.
“Aye. But I would like you to repeat the cause behind your plea to me to protect your heir, Varnor.” He looked intensely into the Witch’s eyes as he settled back in his seat properly. She addressed with his name but not his title which meant she was utilizing her years of kinship with him to talk out with him.
“The prophecy. It said that Aiken was to play a role of importance in future in a war that leaves many of the powerful clan to ruin.” Orla gave a nod at what Varnor Demon revealed.
She clasped her hands in front of her as she leaned forward to tell him the cause behind her actions.
“And Aiken was a person importance for the reason that he has a part of Alder’s powers kept inside him.” Orla revealed to which Varnor Demon gaped.
Alder Emor had stowed a part of his magic inside his son? For what reason? Why the devil did he do that?
“Taken aback, aren’t you? The demons carry their baby for a very long time and a royal child was carried by the mother in her womb for years before they greet the world. Alder Emor knew of the fact and very cleverly stowed a part of his significant magic inside Aiken when he was still in Her Highness womb.” Orla could read the puzzlement from the King as she progressed.
“You wonder why he had to stow his magic, why especially in Aiken.” It was not a question. Orla stated how perplexed the King was when she gave away few facts about the whole ordeal.
“Why Alder would do something such when I had bestowed him with an exceptional shield years ago.” Aye, he did bestowed Alder Emor with a shield when he saved his father, the previous Demon King, from a colossal threat.
Why Alder was there to begin with and how he saved someone like a Demon King was still a mystery but he did know he was extremely powerful. To express their gratitude, he had put a protection spell from all the Demon Clans on Alder Emor.
“Alder knew Aiken’s birth shall benefit him handsomely as the child had a portion of his powers along with the demonic powers he possess. Alder can effortlessly control Aiken by controlling his powers inside him and by that he shall create Aiken as his protection a weapon for the war he was planning to wage. With the protection you bestowed on him, you could not know who was influencing Aiken if at all that time came. But what he did not know was how the Demon heir looks like and where he was. You and Her Highness waited long years for Aiken to be born and with the knowledge of prophecy, you had sent him to live between humans until you could know more about the upcoming war.” Orla took a small breath as she halted for the King to come up with his own judgments.
Varnor was a clever man and he could put the dots together to get the picture she was showing.
Varnor Demon on the other hand reeled over the facts he had learnt and gasped as he was coming to understand the tale.
Right. That was an ideal plan.
With his shield and influence on Aiken, Alder would be close to invincible. The Demon King was very much astounded by the clever plan developed by the Warlock Lord.
“For Aiken to be saved from being manipulated by Alder Emor, he should be killed so the magic stowed inside him is destroyed. If Alder did not know how my son looked like and if you craft situations where Alder has to kill an innocent human to get a little strength to survive and gather powers, he would go to Aiken just how Witch Madonna wished. Killing Aiken will make me pull my protection shield back not to forget he looses his powers inside Aiken.” The Demon King whispered as realization dawned unto him.
It was trap. A well made trap to make certain Alder Emor was left with nothing but misery and hurt. He had to give it to the old woman for what she had done. It was very much clever and cunning of her.
Orla smiled slyly at the King and flicked hee fingers so the guard around him dispelled. She leaned back on her seat and gave an assuring smile to her good associate.
“Alder had saved Aiken’s skin as desired by Madonna. Just as Alder’s attention was distracted from the sack that has his skin, I will have the sack in my hands. I shall bring back Aiken to life with the skin and his body.”
This was it; the Demon’s shield was taken away from Alder. Now she has to dispel all the other guards he had.
Orla heaved a relaxing breath as she watched the Demon King buried deep in thoughts.
Alder Emor shall die and she shall make certain of it.
